Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, has revealed she’s been cast aside from fan conventions for her participation in OnlyFans.

In March, Jessie, 38, launched her OnlyFans page not for explicit sexual content, but to connect with fans and fund personal projects like home improvements.

While most of her posts are said to revolve around styling her hair, the reputation of OnlyFans as an adult site has cost her appearances at Harry Potter fan conventions, as per Collider.

‘I found out that I didn’t get booked for a Harry Potter convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans,’ she wrote, according to the publication.

They explained it was because it’s a ‘family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn’.

‘This was baffling to me as some actors who do conventions (most actors, actually) have done TV and films in which they’ve done sex scenes and nudity. I’m just playing with my hair!’ she said.

While Jessie fears she has been ‘cancelled’ from the Harry Potter fandom, she isn’t too upset because it is a ‘different time’ and she’s ready to hand over the baton to a new generation, including Sienna Moosah, who will play Lavender in the upcoming HBO TV series.

She said: ‘I am not upset about the prospect of no more Harry Potter conventions.

‘There’s going to be a new cast now, and it’s a different time. Plus, I have done conventions for over 15 years and have enough photos and wizard memorabilia.’

After finishing her work in the Wizarding World, Jessie appeared in numerous British comedies, including Pramface, Dani’s Castle, Give Out Girls, and the reboot of Porridge.

Jessie has also spent time on stage, as she took her one woman show An Ecstatic Display to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year.

Reviewing it as a strong 4 out of 5 stars, Metro described Jessie as being a ‘master of making light out of dark’.

‘Excessively quirky one woman shows with puppets aren’t that lucrative, Jessie admitted, continuing to explain her stance in her Substack article.

‘Some years, the money I got from signing photos of my face was the only real money I made. I am very lucky I got to do them. It’s time to move on and play some new characters,’ she added.

The Great Expectations actress – who has four children with partner Alfie Brown – announced earlier this year she was launching a page on OnlyFans which would offer ‘the best quality hair sounds’ and ‘very sensual stuff’.

But she later stressed that her account was ‘not a sexual one’ on her Before We Break Up Again podcast, noting that although it appeals to those with hair fetishes, ‘fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual’.

She promised fans that there would be an ‘owl drop near daily,’ but provided a ‘wizard warning’: ‘Will not do explicit sexual content. Might be in my underwear.’

The explanation continued: ‘Will respond to DMs. Let’s get to know each other. If you have a hair thing, this is the place for you. If you want something specific, you can message me.’

Speaking to her partner Alfie about her decision in a video posted to social media, she said: ‘[I don’t get] dirty comments, but I do get lots of interest in the hair thing, and I just thought, I’m gonna do something that is very niche.

‘I know it’s niche, but it’s been really cool to do. It’s been quite liberating. I really am choosing to think of this as an empowering moment for me, because I have been this very kind of straight, prim actress for a lot of my career.’

In another recent Substack post, Jessie reflected that in January she was ‘lost and afraid’. She ‘didn’t know’ how she would be able to pay bills or move into their new house, as the family relocated recently from London to Liverpool.

‘It’s a huge relief to be six months down the line with our walls painted and carpets down. Toilets are working, the bunk beds are built. We have a van and nice curtains and shelves and now we are settled and ready to start again,’ she said, adding: ‘All thanks to OnlyFans.’

Talking to Metro last year, Jessie reflected on the Potter years and said she wouldn’t want her own kids to be child stars.

‘The stage mum in me, secretly yes of course. I want my children to be stars,’ she laughed, before turning serious and adding: ‘But there is no money in the world that could be paid to let them do it.

‘No chance in hell would they do a job until they are fully fledged adults,’ she said.

‘It just stops everything, you’re frozen in time from when you got that first job. I’ve worked with enough child actors and had enough experience in the industry to see how devastating it can be for your development, and how toxic the industry can be.’
