Created in partnership with Pardon My Take’s hosts “Big Cat” Katz and Eric “PFT Commenter” Sollenberger and Virtual Dining Concepts, the Mega Cheesesteak features 100% U.S.D.A. choice steak, pepperoni, provolone, American cheeses, sautéed onions, fresh mushrooms, banana peppers, and mayonnaise. To say it is a big, hearty bite is an understatement.

For those people unfamiliar with Penn Station East Coast Subs, the quick service restaurant brand is known for its hot and cold subs. Specifically, its cheesesteak is one of its most popular food items.

With the Mega Cheesesteak, the special sub invites a new group of guests to the table. As Lance Vaught, President of Penn Station East Coast Subs said, “This is a perfect example of how we’re evolving the Penn Station brand to connect with new generations of sub lovers. The Mega Cheesesteak brings together our passion for grilled-to-order subs with the cultural reach of Barstool and the innovation of VDC. We couldn’t be more excited to share it with fans.”

Restaurants Target Gen Z Diners

While celebrity chef recipes, movie crossovers and other creative food launches get instant attention, restaurants need returning guests to keep the doors open. Gen Z dinners have been identified as frequent quick service restaurant guests. Brands are using that information to their advantage.

The Penn Station East Coast Subs and Barstool Sports collaboration is a prime example how Virtual Dining Concepts is targeting the key demographic. By leveraging a digital marketing platform, they can target guests who are willing to spend their money on eating out.

After Virtual Dining Concepts’ previous success with a Barstool Sports cheesesteak offering, this newest launch brings the concept to a larger audience. It will be interesting to see how the idea evolves next year.
