Three celebrities have already been cast in Hideo Kojima’s Physint, but fans think they’ve figured out a hidden fourth star based on new artwork.
This December will mark the 10-year anniversary of Kojima Productions’ founding and Hideo Kojima has already got ahead of the celebrations with an anniversary livestream from Japan.
The livestream hosted multiple announcements regarding the studio’s future projects, including updates on both the live action and animated Death Stranding movies and a new teaser for Xbox horror game OD.
Perhaps surprisingly, Kojima was even willing to mention Physint, despite the fact it won’t be out until the 2030s at the earliest. He had no gameplay to show but a new piece of promotional art has prompted discussions about a secret celebrity guest star.
As a reminder, Physint is a new stealth action game Kojima announced last year. Not only is it set to be a PlayStation exclusive, since Sony’s publishing it, but it’s being set up as a spiritual successor to the Metal Gear games Kojima helmed during his time at Konami.
According to Kojima, Physint is still in the conceptual phase, although he threw fans a bone by showing artwork depicting what is presumably the game’s main character. His face is mostly hidden by shadows, but his design feels deliberately reminiscent of Metal Gear’s hero Solid Snake.
However, some fans online think they’ve figured out who will be portraying the main character based on what little of his face can be seen. The most popular theory points to Robert Pattinson, star of Mickey 17 and Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

On its own, this feels like quite the stretch, but it has been pointed out that Kojima and Pattinson did meet one another at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year and Kojima even said that the two ‘discussed some things.’
Not to mention Pattinson is a big games fan, having previously extolled the virtues of Final Fantasy 7, so he’d likely leap at the chance to star in a video game himself – if he has the time in his schedule.
Others, however, argue that it could be Fantastic Beasts and The Day Of The Jackal star Eddie Redmayne instead.
‘I think it’s clearly Robert Pattinson, just look at that face,’ says one fan on Reddit, with another retorting, ‘I see Eddie Redmayne also but maybe that’s just the hair.’
One fan suggests it could be Dune actor Timothée Chalamet, though this theory seems to only be based on how he once visited Kojima Productions during a press tour for his Wonka movie. It also seems a bit short for him.
As for actors that are known to be in Physint, Kojima announced three of them: Australian actress Charlee Fraser (who starred as Mary Jabassa in last year’s Furiosa), South Korean actor Don Lee (aka Gilgamesh from Marvel’s Eternals), and Japanese actress Minami Hamabe (who you might recognise from the critically acclaimed Godzilla: Minus One).
Exactly what roles they’ll have in Physint isn’t clear, although it can be assumed none of them are portraying the character seen in the promotional art.
