Janice Dickinson, who starred in I’m A Celebrity: South Africa, has filed a claim at the High Court against ITV after suffering a fall during filming.

The 70-year-old model first appeared on the reality series in 2007, followed by the All Stars season set in South Africa in 2023.

The US star had to withdraw from the show two years ago after she was injured tripping in the dark on her way to the toilet while in the jungle.

At the time, she was assessed by a medical team on site before being taken to the hospital for further tests as a precaution, where it was deemed best for her not to return to the camp.

Now, her representative has confirmed to Metro that a claim has been issued in relation to her appearance on the show and ‘she looks forward to giving her full account in due course.’

They added that ‘it’s understood new information has come to light’. ITV has declined to comment.

In an interview after the ordeal, Dickinson told The Sun: ‘I thought, “Geez, I’ll never work again.

‘I thought that because I was badly damaged. Certainly too damaged to go back on the show. I didn’t require stitches, but they had to really clean the wounds really well. It was agony cleaning all the dirt and gravel off of my face, it was horrible.’

In her own words at the time she recalled ‘flying flat on my face – hair all over my forehead, my nose was bloody and my whole chin was gashed open.’

Suffering with ‘intense head pain’ she was left ‘lying and moaning’ on the floor.

The ‘world’s first supermodel’ also shared that she had laser treatment to ‘help shrink the wounds’ which she revealed ITV ‘popped up and paid the bills’ for, adding that the people at ITV she worked with and for ‘couldn’t have been nicer’.

In total, she had said it took three months for the wounds to heal, although she did tell TV Mag ‘there’s still an indentation on my forehead, which I don’t think will fill out.’

Speaking to fans at the time, explaining her sudden exit from the show, she had expressed a wish to keep on going.

‘I did my fair share in standing up, falling down. Getting my face in the dirt. I felt like they could have possibly cleaned my wounds and set me back on my path in there.

‘But production made the right decision in the end to not send me back in. I’m just sad it ended that way. I think I could have gone back in and gone on further.’
