Manchester United might have signed a new goalkeeper this summer, but still plan to bring in another stopper in 2026, according to reports.
There was significant change in the goalkeeping department at Old Trafford over the last transfer window, with former first choice Andre Onana departing for Turkish side Trabzonspor.
In came relative unknown Senne Lammens from Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp in a deal worth £18.2m.
It is an enormous leap of a step up for the 23-year-old, who has made one Champions League appearance, but otherwise only has experience in the Belgian Pro League as he remains uncapped at senior level by Belgium.
It was not clear whether Lammens was being brought in as the new number one when he arrived, but he has not taken that spot yet, with Altay Bayindir continuing to play, with the Belgian sitting on the bench.

Ahead of the Manchester derby earlier this month, Amorim said: ‘Altay is going to continue. It is a different league, different country, different ball. I know that we are in the moment that the goalkeeper needs to be really strong and have a lot of experience.
‘We are also in the moment that we have to look at the present, but also with a focus on the future. [Lammens] is a guy with great potential, that is one more option to play.

‘We believe a lot in our goalkeepers. I believe in Altay. He’s ready to play.’
However, Manchester United do not believe in either goalkeeper so much that they are not looking at any other possibilities.
The Sun report that another stopper is not just a possibility for the Red Devils next year, but it will be a transfer priority in 2026.

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is reportedly one of the transfer targets for Manchester United, while they retain an interest in Aston Villa and Argentina star Emiliano Martinez.
The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and would represent an experienced campaigner at the highest level, unlike Bayindir or Lammens.
The AC Milan captain has 34 caps for France and has made over 150 appearances for the Italian giants after doing the same for previous club Lille.

Manchester United went as far as making an inquiry for Martinez this summer, but Aston Villa did not want to let the former Arsenal man leave.
Martinez was keen on the switch to Old Trafford and was even left out of Villa’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace before the transfer window closed, due to a loss of focus.
However, the move did not materialise and he has returned to first team action under Unai Emery.
