A Frozen Vegetable Recall Was Just Announced in 6 States

A new frozen vegetable recall is affecting products in six states and Washington, D.C., the FDA confirmed Thursday.

On Wednesday, Endico Potatoes of Mount Vernon, N.Y. announced it was recalling packages of its frozen peas and carrots and mixed vegetables over potential listeria concerns. The products had been distributed throughout Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

“The recall was the result of sampling done by the state of Pennsylvania at one of our distributors which revealed that the finished products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes,” Endico said. “The company has ceased distribution of the product as FDA and the company continue their investigation as to what caused the problem.”

The FDA issued a press release on Thursday acknowledging the recall.

What products are affected

The Endico frozen peas and carrots that have been recalled come in a 2.5-pound clear plastic bag bearing the lot number 110625. They were packaged on 6/11/25 with a use-by date of 6/10/27.

As for the company’s mixed vegetables mentioned in the notice, they also come in a 2.5-pound bag and contain the lot number 170625. The vegetables have a production date of 6/17/25 and a use-by date of 6/16/27.

Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported to date. If you find yourself in possession of one of the recalled bags, Endico and the FDA ask that you don’t consume the products and instead bring them to your place of sale for a refund.

What to know about listeria

Infection by the bacteria listeria monocytogenes can occur after eating contaminated food. The good news is listeria infection is very rare.

Listeria can have the greatest impact on pregnant women, young children, the elderly and anyone with a compromised immune system. According to the CDC, common signs of invasive listeria, which means an infection that escapes the intestines include fever, headache, stiff neck and other flu-like symptoms.

Typical symptoms of intestinal listeria may include nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.
