Love Island’s Whitney Adebayo has accused her ex-boyfriend Lochan Nowacki of calling her skin “dirty” in a racism allegation, and it’s turned into a very messy online feud.
The pair met on the reality TV show in summer 2023 and were together for two years before splitting in April 2025, after her appearance on The Sidemen’s reality series Inside.
Lochan has denied the allegation on TikTok and explained the incident from his side of the story. Here’s the entire drama from start to finish.
Whitney accused an ex of calling her skin ‘dirty’
It all started on Friday, when Whitney uploaded a TikTok video doing the viral “You look happier” trend, where you explain why you’re currently happier than you used to be.
“Thanks! I finally fell in love with my skin he used to call dirty,” she wrote. There was no mention of Lochan, but people instantly began speculating that it was about him.

Her sister then shared some alleged texts from Lochan
After that, Whitney’s sister Liz shared a screenshot of a text conversation she allegedly had with Lochan following the incident, where he wrote: “Please speak to Whit she is fully done and I feel awful but I never said it thinking her skin is dirty. I feel sick, I crossed the line with a joke but she said she can’t look at me the same. I don’t know what to do Liz.”
Over the top of the screenshot, Liz said: “The fact that evidence is needed is absurd to me. Why can’t women speak and be heard? I’m tired of seeing people constantly paint my sister as this person and jumping on the ‘hate Whitney’ bandwagon.”
“I know what she went through, and the fact that it took this long for her to heal and share her truth to be shamed is vile. As women, we’ve all stayed in situations that didn’t serve us, but when you get out, that’s when you really start to become a woman. Be kind and give grace,” she added.

Lochan denied the allegations in a TikTok video
On Saturday, Lochan responded on TikTok and denied the allegations, saying: “It’s pretty hard to talk about but I feel like I’ve got no other choice now than to stand up and defend myself.
“About a year into my relationship with Whit, we were on a walk close to my flat. She had gotten her nails done and she, annoyingly, put her nails in my face and was like, ‘My hands are so clean. Yours aren’t.’ I was like, ‘No, they’re not,’ and I was annoyed her hands were in my face,” he explained.
“She looked at me in shock and said, ‘You’re calling me dirty?’ I was taken aback by that. I felt insulted that my girlfriend, who I loved [and] who knows me and who knows that I would never insinuate something like that, is calling me a racist.”
“I’ve never called anyone’s skin dirty, and I would never. That, to me, is the most upsetting comment,” Lochan added.

Whitney then clapped back on a livestream
Following Lochan’s response, Whitney went live and clapped back, accusing him of calling her skin “dirty” once again.
“Lochan, are we doing this? Are we really gonna go for the nice guy puppy dog eye look? Really? That’s the situation of how it happened. We were walking back from lunch, going back to his place and I was in the sun. I was like ‘Babe, look how my skin glistens in the sun’ and he looked at me and was like ‘Ugh, it’s dirty’,” she said.
“And then only when I lashed out, he was like ‘It was a joke, it was a joke’. He was crying. He called all my family members saying it was a joke and because Lochan gives off this golden retriever energy, no one would ever believe he would say this maliciously.”

She also explained why she stayed with Lochan for so long, claiming he would buy her flowers and present himself as a nice guy every time he did something wrong. Whitney said she is only just speaking it now because she was “embarrassed”.
