Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who had been reported missing for over a year. LAPD discovered the decomposing body on September 8 in a tow yard after reports of a “foul odour” coming from the vehicle.

Lyrics of Romantic Homicide
Romantic Homicide has drawn significant attention for its dark lyrics, which describe heartbreak and obsession through violent metaphors. In an interview with Genius, D4vd emphasised that the lines such as “I put a knife in my chest, but it won’t bleed / All these broken hearts stacked on top of me” are intended as figurative expressions of emotional pain.
Merchandise and promotion
Promotional material for D4vd’s Withered World Tour has incorporated death-related imagery. It included caskets, guest books for his viewers to “pay respects,” and his alter ego character Itami, often depicted in blood-stained clothing. Merchandise and visual branding carried the same themes.
In the wake of the case, D4vd’s record label has paused campaigns. And brands such as Crocs and Hollister have also halted advertising collaborations “with respect” for the ongoing investigation.

In a resurfaced interview, he explained that the themes come from creative storytelling. They are influenced by anime and manga, including Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer. He has also spoken about Itami, “a murderous alter ego” he once developed for a manga concept. Described as an “agent of chaos,” Itami was a character who both committed murders and solved them.
TMZ noted that the music video of Rehab also has similar dark elements, which was released on Celeste Rivas’ 13th birthday. Additionally, the One More Dance music video has resurfaced, showing D4vd in a blood-stained shirt while a dead body is placed in the back of a car. The visuals are eerily similar to the real-life events.
Authorities have been quick to emphasise that while his music and imagery are dark, they do not constitute evidence of criminal activity.
