I don’t know about you, but I’m still thinking about the ending of Squid Game. Season three ended an entire month ago. Yes, it’s been that long already! But despite that amount of time having passed, people are only just realising there was a dark hidden meaning in a Squid Game season three poster.
One of the most shocking parts of season three of Squid Game – minus all the deaths of course – was when Player 222 had her baby. Then, the baby became a player in the game. I’m still a bit shook.
In season two, we found out Jun-hee was pregnant. Then we had no idea how that would play out. Little did we know she would give birth, then the twisted people in charge of the game would turn her newborn into a player, almost certainly destined for death. By doing this, we saw how far the other players were willing to go for money. When Player 222 tragically died, her baby lived on, and the other players schemed to kill the baby, just to save themselves.
The only person who didn’t was Gi-hun. Of course. He sacrificed himself at the end of the show, and saved the baby. The newborn then won the whole game. But, there was a sign in one of the posters that hinted at this dark journey, staring us in the face all along.

On June 5th, nearly a month before Squid Game season three had even been released, Netflix shared a poster of Player 222. She is in front of a room that we can now recognise as the one she gave birth in, during the hide and seek game. “The game doesn’t end so easily,” was the caption.
Someone just quote tweeted it, and added: “Oh my god I just realised the meaning.” In the comments, the meaning has been explained. “Basically even though Jun-hee herself had died the frontman had decided that her daughter would continue as player number 222 so her game never technically ever ended even though she died,” someone said. One person replied: “I’m speechless.”
