The dawn of Thursday in the delegation of Calixtlahuacanorth of Toluca, was marked by horror. Residents of the area found the body of a man lying on a dirt road, with obvious signs of violence.
The event aroused fear and sadness among the neighbors, who assure that the insecurity has been increasing in recent months.
According to the first reports, the discovery occurred around six in the morning, on the road that leads to San Marcos Yachihuacaltepec. A group of farmers heading to work in the fields discovered the motionless body and immediately alerted the authorities.
Upon arrival, paramedics confirmed that the man no longer had vital signs and that he had multiple injuries, mainly to the face and torso, presumably caused by blows with blunt objects.
“This had never been seen here; they left it lying around like garbage,” lamented Don Ignacio, a local resident. “Last night we heard screams, it seemed like a fight, but no one imagined it would end like this. It’s scary, you can’t even walk calmly anymore,” he added with visible concern.
Elements of the municipal and state police cordoned off the area to preserve the scene, while experts from the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico They carried out the removal of the body and collected the first evidence. Although the identity of the deceased has not been revealed, it is estimated that he was between 40 and 50 years old.
According to unofficial versions, the victim would have been in the company of another man during the early hours of the morning. The two argued heatedly and, minutes later, one of them was seen running away from the scene. Investigators do not rule out that it is a crime derived from a personal dispute.
The body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service to perform an autopsy and determine precisely the causes of death. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation file for intentional homicide.
