An alleged killer accused of murdering one sex worker and raping another in separate attacks seven months apart has appeared at the Old Bailey.
Simon Levy, 40, is charged with murdering Sheryl Wilkins, 39, whose lifeless body was found lying behind a wall in a B&M car park in Tottenham, north London, on August 24.
He also faces charges of rape, GBH with intent and intentional strangulation against a second woman, who cannot be named, over an alleged attack in Haringey on January 21.
Kerry Broome, prosecuting, told the court both victims were sex workers.
She said CCTV shows Levy meeting Ms Wilkins shortly after midnight on August 24, before the pair are seen walking to the car park – an area known for drug use and the buying of sexual services.
Ms Wilkins’ body was found there by two police officers patrolling the area at around 6.30am the following morning, the court heard.
She had bruising and scratching suggesting her body may have been dragged, Ms Broome said, but a post-mortem examination has not yet ascertained a cause of death.
The prosecutor told the court the second victim had agreed to provide sexual services to Levy before being attacked in January.
She suffered a broken clavicle and lost consciousness as Levy pressed his hand over her face while raping her, the court heard.

Levy was arrested for both offences on September 4.
Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court previously heard he is blind in one eye.
He appeared at the Old Bailey this morning by video-link from HMP Belmarsh wearing dark glasses and a grey prison-issue tracksuit.
