Additional charges filed against Evans mom accused of injuring Columbia Co. jailer

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – The Evans mom charged with Reckless Conduct after allegedly leaving her daughter at the store is now facing 4 additional charges.

Samantha Williams reportedly attacked four deputy jailers at the Columbia County Detention Center.

Reports say when Deputy Jailer Sabrina Dodgen, Sgt. Reggie Crite and two others opened her cell, Williams charged at Deputy Dodgen, knocking her backwards and causing her to hit her head. She was knocked unconscious, taken to the hospital, and was admitted for serious injuries.

According to a spokesperson with the Columbia County Detention Center, Deputy Dodgen’s condition is improving as of Thursday afternoon.

The three other jailers were able to gain control of Williams and placed her in handcuffs.

She is now charged with Aggravated Battery, 2 counts of Felony Obstruction, Interference With Government Property in addition to Reckless Conduct.

Deputy Dodgen has been with the agency 8 years, Sgt. Crite 4 years.
