Aemet warns of heavy rain with up to 200 l/m2 and polar air in these areas

The rain will continue to affect most of Spain and is expected a intense drop in temperatures for this Sunday because of a polar air inlet. Temperatures will reach values ​​more typical of the time of year, according to the spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), Rubén del Campo.

The instability will extend to the east of the peninsular territory and the Balearic Islands this Sunday, Del Campo advances, so there will be chance of showers in a good part of the country except in Galicia and the province of León. These rains will be locally strong in points of Catalonia and around the Balearic Sea, as well as in points of Eastern Andalusia.

Temperatures will be decreasing in much of the country except in the Ebro depression, where they will rise. It will snow in the Pyrenees from about 1,400-1,800 meters altitude. In the northwest the atmosphere will be cool. In León, for example, the maximum will be only 13ºC. In the south there will already be values ​​more typical of the time of year, although in Murcia it will still be around 28ºC.

Next week will begin with somewhat more stable weather and a cool atmosphere, especially in the northern half, where there could even be some frost. TThere may still be some rain in the southern third of the peninsula, especially in Andalusia and perhaps also in the Balearic Islands. According to the prediction, the early morning will be cold.

Cities like Burgos, León, Soria or Teruel will touch the frostwith temperatures that can remain around 0 ºC and cold atmosphere in the rest of the peninsular interior. In this framework, The city of Madrid itself will wake up with 5 ºC. During the day, thermometers will not reach 15ºC in large areas of the north, while in the south, in the Guadalquivir Valley, they will touch 25ºC.

Although there is uncertainty regarding what will happen from Tuesday, Del Campo has indicated that rains could arrive towards the southwest of the peninsula, which would extend to other areas of the country in the following days. Duncan Wingen, meteorologist Meteoredwarns that “a trough will cross the Peninsula from west to east with storms and intense showers in some areas.”

The storm that would enter on Wednesday would cause “a flow of ‘rainy winds’ or open winds that will push warm and very humid air from the ocean. “This meteorological situation could bring rainy and windy weather for the start of the month of November, with beneficial rains for the reservoirs and the mountains.”

“This situation, if fulfilled, would give rise to a generously wateredwith accumulated values ​​greater than 100 l/m2 on the western coast of Galicia, Sistema Central, Sierra Morena and the Andalusian Atlantic coast.
