AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – According to a note posted on the historic restaurant’s door, Augusta’s Villa Europa is closed.
The message states that the restaurant will reopen as soon as possible and asks diners to check back.

NewsChannel 6 spoke with the Villa family in 2023 when rumors began on social media about a possible closing. At that time, they told us the building was in dire need of repair and they felt that “the city’s kind of forgotten about” them in the South Augusta area.
Villa Europa is located at 3044 Deans Bridge Road and occasionally they set up their food truck, Villa Wagon, at that location on weekends.
A recent Facebook Post states that they’ll be there Friday, September 5th for lunch and dinner and Sunday, September 7th for lunch. Click here for more info.
NewsChannel 6’s ‘Your Hometown Road Trip’ stopped by Villa Europa in again December of 2024 to learn more about the German, Italian American dining spot to learn about the family that helped keep this local business here for more than 50 years. You can watch that story here.

A quick Google search does show that they are ‘temporarily closed’.
NewsChannel is attempting to learn more as this is a developing story.
