AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is investigating a head-on collision that left one person dead.
The crash happened Wednesday morning about 8:15 am at the intersection of Rudy Mason Parkway and Willow Run Road.
Law enforcement said an 18-wheeler and a mini van were traveling opposite directions on Rudy Mason Pkwy when they collided at the intersection.
The driver of the minivan died at the scene, the driver of the rig was taken to the hospital with injuries.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased name once next of kin has been notified.
