If you’re new to cast-iron cooking, you’ll want to season the pan with each use. According to Omaha Steaks, it’s recommended to clean a dirty cast-iron pan with a soft brush with just water (avoiding soap) to remove stuck-on food, then towel dry. Place it on the stove and heat until smoking. Let completely cool, then drizzle a small amount of neutral oil in the pan and spread it around to cover the cooking surface and sides using a paper towel. It is not recommended to soak or dishwash cast-iron cookware.

If you’re in the market for a new grill pan and want to try out a cast-iron version, this pan is available in the Aldi Finds section starting today.
