Earlier this year, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) left the Emmerdale village after having a huge falling out with his son Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).
What he failed to tell Paddy though is that he wasn’t leaving to see his friend in Ireland. A few hours prior to the exit, Bear was told by his mate that he’d no longer be able to attend. He left anyway, feeling as though he was no longer wanted.
The last we saw of the character, he was living out of his car which was parked in a field. Bear has been mentioned by Paddy since he left, but he hasn’t had any reason to worry due to being under the impression he’s with his pal.
Everything will change next week in the show though, as Paddy opens a parcel addressed to Bear. It reveals that his father hasn’t been in Ireland at all – which means he is missing.
This kickstarts the story that’ll lead us into finding out where Bear has been this entire time. A standalone episode of the ITV soap will air that confirms the ordeal Bear has been through, which will also feature drug dealer Ray Walters, according to Joe Absolom who plays him.
Before the Bear episode airs, a special instalment will be broadcasted in a few days time that features April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock).
After readjusting to life in the village after spending time on the streets, vulnerable April was lured into drug dealing for Ray and his mum Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).
As a result of their manipulation, April is now living at the B&B, with dad Marlon completely unaware of what’s been going on.
In this episode, April will contemplate opening up to Marlon about her ordeal.
Explaining the set up of the episode, Mark Charnock said: ‘April was going to come to a Halloween party with the rest of the family, she doesn’t turn up and he’s really sad about it. So she turns up at the house and he’s on his own and the episode begins, it’s lovely actually, with them rediscovering the younger version of her and how that was for them when she was really little.
‘The first act, if you like, is about him rediscovering his daughter, the daughter he knew before everything tragic that happened to her, and her rediscovering not only her dad but that part of herself too, so it’s really something.’
Elsewhere next week, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) makes an announcement that annoys Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) almost catches Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) with Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), while Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) learns some new information.
