What is the book that has ‘self-helped’ you the most?

Not one exclusively, rather those coming from the pre-Socratics and their visions of reality, highlighting Parmenides and Zeno.

If you couldn’t have been an artist, what would you have been?

I think it is difficult not to be an artist, because I always proclaim that we all are, it’s just that the social set-up makes it difficult or impossible in an immense number of cases. I would say billiards player, but, of course, European billiards.

His last exhibition, The movement of the ideabrings together a series of drawings based on geometry at the IVAM in Valencia. Have you abandoned conceptual art?

I always say that all art is conceptual… and for conceptual, the meninas. Regarding the exhibition, just clarify that it seems that there is a concept that floats in it or in which it floats, to choose.

suicide tower (1984) or the ruin museum (1986) are some of his most impressive pieces. Are you still imagining crazy works?

These works were part of a movement that I call “premature architecture”, of course what they could not be called crazy.

In his work, urban space and everyday life take on a lot of prominence. What interests you about the interaction between art and daily life?

Precisely, for a long time I have used the proclamation that “art is daily life” to the point of walking around with a sign that condemned it.

Do you think there is a conflict between the freedom of the artist and the creation of work critical of the system?

Obviously, freedom of expression is a personal obligation to fulfill, which, very often, is hindered by the systematic nature of the system, despite the redundancy.

Have you ever doubted?

Of course. It is very easy to proclaim evidence that bothers the system out of pure contradiction. Comically speaking, he is a source of inspiration.

A historical event that you would have liked to experience on site. Because?

The moment in which Columbus noticed, by pure unavoidable chance, the change in drift of the compass.

What is the series you have devoured the fastest?

I don’t watch nor have I seen series: I’m sorry too.

Which movie would you stay in and which one wouldn’t you last a minute?

The wordby Dreyer; to witness the faith of the scientist, the miracle of the resurrection and the tear that slides down the cheek of the resurrected woman. The others, I don’t have them noted.

Have you ever experienced Stendhal syndrome?

I don’t know if, perhaps out of ignorance, I have ever experienced it without knowing it.

What is the last exhibition you have been to?

Nacho Criado at the Círculo de Bellas Artes. It brings us closer to the artist’s visions in his multiple areas of expression, a creative world of an extraordinary author.

Will artificial intelligence kill artistic creation?

No. Art is all conscious and responsible action. What perhaps remains pending for man as a manufacturer of AI is to instill creativity in it and not simple manipulation. Will it be possible?
