Meanwhile, Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) attempts to maintain control of the situations she’s created with DI Costello (Daon Broni), DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and Carla Connor (Alison King), while also having to deal with an inquisitive Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) nipping at her heels.
Elsewhere, the Websters face further strife and the Metcalfs go out of their way for their foster children.

Kit learns from Costello’s wife that he planned to retire in September, with them having bought a house in the Lakes and, while informing Lisa and Becky, clearly clocks her shiftiness. He tries to rouse Carla with his theory that Becky and Costello are co-conspirators, but she’s despondent, and when Kit tells Becky to inform Lisa that Carla is alone, drinking at the factory, she forgoes Lisa and heads over there herself…
Also, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) is crestfallen to realise she booked the wedding venue for 2027 rather than 2026, though Carl (Jonathan Howard) and Abi (Sally Carman-Duttine) come to the rescue while Sally (Sally Dynevor) andTim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) go all out for Joanie Michaelis (Savanna Pennington) when she invites so friends over for a Christmas party.
Meanwhile, Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) witness a moment between Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) and Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) that shakes her, while Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) encourages George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) to make up with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).

An anxious David (Jack P Shepherd) rails at Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) for throwing a baby shower, considering it inappropriate given how high-risk the pregnancy is, while Kevin (Michael Le Vell) is furious at Debbie’s plan to invite Carl and Abi to her wedding, soundly rejecting his own invitation.
Kit is intrigued when Costello’s wife shows him pictures of a new house. Upon further research, he learns the house was bought a week after Becky disappeared, while Carla tries to reunite with Lisa, but is broken hearted in the face of rejection.
Elsewhere, Carl supports Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) when he reveals that the police have no leads in regards to the hit and run, Tim worries when Sally promises Joanie and Shanice Michaelis (Molly Kilduff) a Christmas Day prison visit with their mum and George and Christina panic when Gary Windass (Mikey North) reveals that he heard a crash while passing Todd and Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) flat.
