All EastEnders spoilers for next week as locals deal with shooting aftermath

Albert Square was rocked by a shooting this week in EastEnders, and the shockwaves of the tragic event look set to continue in upcoming episodes.

As the Slaters try to rebuild in the aftermath, there are plenty more questions that still need answers.

Meanwhile, there is heartbreak for Nigel and Julie Bates (Paul Bradley and Karen Henthorn) when they lose some beloved family members, which leads Nigel to drag Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) away from Walford for a trip down memory lane.

Elsewhere, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) continue their alliance, but can they really trust each other?

Monday, September 8

The rumour mill is at an all-time high in Walford following the dramatic events of Zoe Slater’s (Michelle Ryan) return

Nigel and Julie are upset after they discover the chickens have been killed by foxes, but the pair soon discover that Nigel is accidentally to blame.

The pair argue as Nigel becomes distressed by his lack of memory and later, Nigel grows suspicious of Julie’s mystery phone calls. Julie insists that her call is about a prospective job, but the conversation stirs up old feelings.

Nigel is floored and asks Phil to take him away from Walford to the countryside for a day trip.

Jack considers his next move, but it’s clear Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is suspicious.

DS Spencer arrives to discuss recent events, but Jack lies about his whereabouts on the night of the shooting, leading to further questioning from Denise.

Later, Ravi is pulled in for questioning, but he decides to play with fire and tells the police that Jack is his alibi as they were together. Jack tells his colleagues that he was trying to recruit Ravi as an informant, and later agrees to get rid of the gun with Ravi.

However, Jack has a change of heart when DS Spencer arrives…

Tuesday, September 9

The Slaters attempt to rebuild following last week’s events, but many questions still remain unanswered…

Ravi corners Jack in the Square after he was a no-show, but Jack is adamant he is disposing of the gun today before ordering Ravi away from Walford to act as a decoy for the police. Jack sneaks into No.5A to plant the gun, but Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) returns home and Jack hides…

Nigel takes Phil on a pilgrimage through the countryside to find a time capsule he buried with Grant Mitchell when they were kids. Phil tries to dissuade Nigel as his efforts appear to be in vain, but the pair are both surprised when Nigel leads them to the exact spot. The pair are shocked to discover its contents and later have a heart-to-heart.

Eve Unwin has an argument with Jonno Highway as Callum intervenes in EastEnders

At The Albert, Callum Highway (Tony Clay) intercepts a verbal and physical homophobic attack on Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), but is shocked when his father Jonno Highway (Richard Graham) is revealed as the culprit.

Callum arrests him, but Jonno protests his innocence and blames his friend, leaving Callum to question whether his dad is telling the truth.

Eve is adamant Jonno is also to blame, and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) arrives to support Eve as the pair start to thaw to one another following their fallout.

Wednesday, September 10

The Slaters continue to be met with hurdles as they attempt to piece their lives back together…

Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) meets with Jonno against Elaine Peacock’s (Harriet Thorpe) advice and offers him legal counsel to try and gauge whether he wants a relationship with Callum.

Jonno is reluctant to open up, but when Johnny reveals he is a Carter, the pair head to The Vic for a drink. Later, Callum is touched when Johnny reveals that Jonno wants to meet him.

Elsewhere, Julie feels sidelined as Nigel and Phil arrive home following their trip to the countryside.

Thursday, September 11

The drama continues for the Slaters…

Callum meets Jonno at the flat with Johnny, and things get off to a promising start.

However, Callum soon realises that Jonno is looking for money, and when Callum refuses to help, Jonno’s true colours come to the fore. Callum orders Jonno to leave, but Jonno collapses and suffers a heart attack.

Julie is nervous as Phil and Nigel playfully help her prepare for her job interview at the school. Later, Nigel mistakes George Knight (Colin Salmon) for Julie’s previous lover, and Julie misses her job interview to stay home to care for him.
