All Emmerdale spoilers as major star’s serious illness story is ‘confirmed’

Fans who thought that the apparent conclusion of John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) reign of terror would usher in a peaceful period in Emmerdale are about to be proved wrong. Like, really, really wrong.

April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) remain at the mercy of Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), who continues to manipulate their descent into his shady underworld, while Dr. Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) continues to ignore his increasingly alarming symptoms, though is eventually forced to face the music after an accident at work.

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Ross Barton (Michael Parr) begin a journey to discover the truth, while Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) is shocked at Caleb Milligan’s (William Ash) approach to running the depot – but just what else is Caleb up to?

Monday, September 22

April and Dylan try to remain upbeat as the shadow of Ray continues to linger over them both.

While April opens up to Ross, she stops short of revealing the true extent of her predicament, while Dylan sweats when Ray suggests that his new job at the depot could be a good thing for both of them. What is the dastardly drug-lord planning?

Meanwhile, Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) desperately tries to urge Liam to lighten his workload in order to attend his prostate check, but with his head firmly in the sand, Liam cancels his appointment.

Tuesday, September 23

Caleb attempts to sneak out of the house, but he’s startled when he’s caught by Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly).

As she naturally questions what her husband is up to, Caleb remains cagey. Will she discover what’s going on?

Wednesday, September 24

As Dylan enthusiastically throws himself into his new role at the depot, his focus is snapped when Ray sends him a text to offer an impromptu driving lesson.

Elsewhere, Charity continues to be wracked with guilt over the uncertainty surrounding the parentage of her pregnancy, while chaos at the surgery means Liam continues to ignore his own symptoms.

Meanwhile, Jai is incredulous at Caleb’s approach to working at the depot.

Thursday, September 25

Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) further solidifies himself as a father figure in Dylan’s life, the youngster is torn between the kind hearted vet and Ray, who continues to manipulate Dylan with an expensive gift.

Speaking of Ray, he manages to sink his claws further into April when she enquires as to the current state of her debt to him.

When Ray suggests that there’s more she can do to clear the debt faster, he spots his chance to make her a permanent part of his operation, giving her a burner phone and inducting him fully into becoming a drug dealer. He later catches the eye of Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).

At the surgery, Liam’s medical concerns reach a peak when Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) finds him urinating in the hand basin in his consulting room. As she delivers a stern talking-to, Liam is forced to face up to what’s happening and opens up to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

Elsewhere, Charity and Ross prepare for the DNA test that will reveal whether the baby Charity’s carrying is theirs. Can they stay strong during the ten day wait for the results? 

Friday, September 26

Laurel is floored when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) admits that she cheated on Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), while Vinny is desperately torn between testifying against Mike and putting an end to his extortion operation and remaining silent to protect his life with Gabby.

The two both burn with guilt over their secrets, though Gabby remains insistent at the potential of Vinny adopting her son, Thomas.

Elsewhere in the village, April is given further to worry about, while Jai determines to regain some semblance of control at the depot.
