Of all the people to bring mass murderer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) down, could it be Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh)?

Tracy and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) learned the police were reopening Nate’s case when the detectives discovered that his suicide note was saved on his laptop after he died.

John tried to play it off that glitches happen all the time, which everyone knew was a load of tosh.

That was the moment John began to squirm. Meanwhile, John shot poor Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) in the back with a bow and arrow to shut him up permanently, and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) has slowly been clocking his weird behaviour.

Talking about Aaron’s decision to move away, actor Danny Miller reveals:

‘He goes with John for that reason but his behaviour changes and he becomes a bit erratic. He’s going out all the time and he’s out for these long runs. Aaron knows he’s used it personally as an excuse in the past when he wants to get away, and he’s wondering what he’s struggling with.’

Aaron then discovers that John has moved them to a familiar place after believing it was a fresh start for them both, which is a bit of a worry. What’s John’s plan?

‘He [Aaron] finds out that where they are might not be just a random place and he puts two and two together and starts to work out that maybe Mackenzie and Robert are right.’

So, Aaron isn’t far off realising what’s up, and John has an extra worry when Charity (Emma Atkins) begins talking about going to the police over Mack’s disappearance, but it’s Tracy who’s likely to get there first.

Tracy was rocked by the revelation that Nate’s murder was not solved – she’d found it hard enough trying to understand why a complete stranger would kill him anyway. Now she’s back to the drawing board.

Liam (Jonny McPherson) pops into the shop and senses Tracy is feeling down. She reveals to him that she’s been suffering bouts of depression and struggling to care for Frankie alone. Liam gently suggests that they arrange more counselling for her.

But then their conversation moves onto Nate’s murder and Liam gives Tracy something to think about – he questions, how could Owen have overpowered Nate? It gets her mind whirring.

Charity (Emma Atkins) also notices Tracy struggling and the two have a chat. As they lament their woes, Charity empathises with Tracy’s worries over Frankie, revealing she too must tell Moses the truth about Mack’s departure.

As Tracy listens carefully, the cogs are whirring again – when Charity reveals Mack broke up with her by voice note, Tracy can’t help but pick up on the similarities with Nate’s strange disappearance.

Tracy is one step closer to figuring it all out – with John being a pal she could well reveal her suspicions to him.

Will John realise and take care of the situation before it’s too late, just like he did with Mack?
