An alleged off-duty Delta Air Lines flight attendant was caught on camera laying into a Southwest Airlines gate agent over the weekend, in video that has since gone viral.
Footage shared to Instagram by @thecrewroom_ shows a dispute in the Atlanta airport between a male attendant and female agent. Thus far, the identities of the individuals involved have not been confirmed.
Video Shows Heated Confrontation
“This is the worst airport and y’all make Southwest look horrible,” the alleged Delta attendant said, waving his finger and chastising a Southwest agent outside the frame of the camera. “Customer service is ridiculous.”
The conflict seemed to stem from the alleged Delta employee being denied some type of priority from another Southwest employee.
“That’s ridiculous and it’s ghetto. And it’s because it’s Atlanta, and y’all have no respect for customer service. Y’all need to clean it up. Clean it up! Because I’m trying – I’m just taking a flight and I don’t have to take Southwest. I can take Delta,” he added, before marching over to the Southwest employee.
Delta Air Line’s largest hub is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Waving her own finger back, the Southwest employee accused the alleged Delta flight attendant of calling another worker “the b-word.”
“Because she disrespected me for no reason,” he countered. “First off,” the Southwest employee gestured with her hand, “Lower your voice.”
“First off, put your hand off my face. You are something. You ain’t nothing. Where your nametag at? You ghetto,” the alleged Delta worker retorted. “That’s why they told me not to come here. That’s why they told me not to transfer – not to move here. Because y’all are ridiculous and ghetto. I don’t do that type of stuff.”
Delta Investigating
When reached for comment, Delta Air Lines told Men’s Journal of the incident, “We’re looking into the authenticity of this video. We will address the matter internally if it is confirmed. Civil conduct at all times is expected by those who represent our brand.”
Several Instagram users were disturbed by the alleged Delta employee’s behavior, while others noted that the customer service in the Atlanta Airport was lackluster.
