During the early hours of this Monday, Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s largest cloud provider, suffered a global outage that caused the interruption of services for a wide variety of customers, including government agencies, artificial intelligence (AI) companies and financial platforms.
Some of the sites affected worldwide by this fall were Snapchat, Amazon, Amazon Alexa, Roblox, Duolingo, PlayStation, Fortnite, Signal, Canva, PokemonGo and more.
Through the DownDetector website, the first reports of the failures of these services began.

In the first AWS report it was announced that the service was “investigating high error rates and latencies across multiple AWS services.” By that time, about an hour had passed since the big fall.
What caused AWS to crash?
After several hours of interruption on different platforms, Amazon announced that it had fully recovered and the platforms to which it provides its service as well.
Through the company’s control panel, it was announced that “Identified a possible root cause for error rates in DynamoDB APIs in the US-EAST-1 region.”
Basically, the digital directory that manages a key database service at AWS on the East Coast of the United States, AWS’s largest data center cluster, failed. This directory acts as a kind of “map” that tells the system where to find and how to access the stored information.
When this component stopped working correctly, the programs and services that depend on it could not locate or recover the data they needed, which triggered a series of chain failures throughout the infrastructure.

Let us remember that Amazon.com Inc. supports a large part of the internet, representing almost a third of the cloud market, so any interruption generates a great impact worldwide. as happened a few months ago.
This also generated a negative impact on the New York Stock Exchange as Amazon shares rose less than 1%.
