American Tourists Go Viral After Accidentally Boarding Wrong Flight to Africa

Missing a flight, running late through security, or booking the wrong date for a flight can happen, but a pair of American tourists found themselves in a huge mix-up over their flight destination. Two American tourists board a plane to what they thought was Nice, France, to later learn they were actually on their way to Tunis, Tunisia.

Brittney Dzialo documented the whole ordeal on TikTok, in a video that has gotten over 26 million views. In the initial video, Dzialo and her friend are seen boarding the plane from Rome when asking another passenger if the flight is headed to France. To her surprise, it wasn’t, and they were headed to Tunis. After realizing they were headed to Africa, they flagged down a flight attendant.

In a series of follow-up videos, Dzialo reveals there was a mishap when buying their tickets. The flight attendant pointed out that Tunis was indeed their destination as it was printed on their airline tickets.

“We missed the flight, so the airline employee in Rome rescheduled us,” one of them can be heard saying in the video. “But when they rescheduled our flight, they thought we said Tunis, Africa, but no, we said to Nice, France, so they gave us the wrong flight.”

Dzialo and her friend Hannah thought they could easily get off the flight and make the proper changes. Instead, a second flight attendant told them to stay on the flight until arriving in Tunis, where they could get a transfer flight.

After dealing with airport staff who Dzialo said were “rude” and “yelled” at her, the two travelers were able to board a plane to their original destination. But the two vented on having to pay for a flight that wasn’t their fault, but the original airlines, which had misunderstood them.

Commentors think otherwise and can’t believe the two friends didn’t notice the blunder sooner and the lack of personal responsibility.

“You should be embarrassed at the number of things you just didn’t read to catch this problem earlier,” said one commentator.

Another added, “I’m confused?! The amount of signs, airport staff and gates, etc. How do you get on the wrong flight? Your boarding pass has all of your details and the workers would know it’s the wrong flight before you get anywhere near the plane.”
