Following the release of Amy Bradley Is Missing on Netflix, people are again being shocked by the case, and how she has never been found. But, one of the most shocking parts of the case was that Amy Bradley appeared to be “found” years ago, but the FBI had to drop the line of investigation.
On March 23rd 1998, Amy Bradley went missing. To this day, the case remains unsolved. She had been on a family holiday on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. When she was last seen, Amy and her brother had been out at a club on board, and returned to the family cabin in the early hours. Later that morning, when Amy’s father went to check on her, she wasn’t in the cabin. But, what happened?
Amy Bradley was ‘found’ 20 years ago

There have been a number of “sightings” of Amy Bradley since her disappearance. The most recent of which was 20 years ago, in 2005. In September that year, the Bradley family received a number of photos from an anonymous source. The pictures claimed to be of Amy – under a different name – on an adult website.
The woman was called Jas, and the site was based in the Caribbean. The anonymous sender attached a link to the website, which showed sex workers for hire.
During the Netflix series, Iva, Amy’s mother, spoke about the moment she got the tip. She said: “Seeing the photos, it was a terrible thing. A level of panic. All I could keep thinking is, ‘Is that my daughter?’ We all looked at it — the nose, the chin and the hair — it took my breath away.”
An FBI analysis concluded that the woman in the photos was Amy, but the IP address for the site couldn’t be tracked. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix director Ari Mark said the FBI “exhausted everything” to look into the pictures, but nothing came of it.
“[What’s] hard to ignore is how seriously the FBI took that photo,” he said. “It wasn’t like they were like, ‘Oh, whatever,’ they really did chase that down. They analysed the bed frame, tried to figure out where it was made. They sent an operative down there to actually scope it out. And they did look into that website, and they brought in that trafficking expert — it’s hard to ignore.”
Because the IP address of the website couldn’t be found, no more could be done. Nobody was found, or charged, in relation to the 2005 pictures.
