An Al Jazeera investigation reveals the involvement of dual Israeli snipers in killing civilians in Gaza news

Al Jazeera’s investigative reporting unit revealed, within the program “Bird’s eye(which is shown on Al Jazeera English), about the involvement of 6 Israeli snipers with dual nationalities in the systematic killing of Palestinian civilians during the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

The investigation, which was based on high-resolution aerial photographs, analysis of video clips and field testimonies, highlights a repeated pattern of direct targeting of unarmed people, including children and women, in areas that do not witness any military clashes.

The snipers hold dual nationalities from Western countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Germany, South Africa and Italy, which opens the door to possible prosecutions in those countries under the principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows the prosecution of war crimes regardless of where they occur.

The investigation presents photos and clips that some snipers posted on their personal accounts, documenting the moments of sniping and showing an implicit celebration of what they committed, which strengthens the strength of the evidence against them.
