Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) receives not one but two unexpected shocks in EastEnders next week and the first comes in the form of George Knight (Colin Salmon) calling time on their relationship.
Sparks flew for the two characters earlier this year after both of their respective marriages came to sudden ends.
Teddy (Roland Manookian), as viewers know, ended things once and for all with Nicola after discovering that Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) wasn’t his biological son.
Nicola’s role in the death of Harry’s (Elijah Holloway) girlfriend Shireen also left him appalled, thus leaving him with no doubts when it came to ending their union.
George, meanwhile, separated from Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), who was fed up of his lies, not to mention his inability to keep ex-wife Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) out of their marriage.
After moving out of the Vic, George applied for a job at Harry’s Barn, where he and Nicola hit it off instantly.
While they initially agreed to keep their relationship professional after sleeping together, they ultimately ended up giving in to passion once again.
George also provided support for Nicola on a tough day as she recalled the difficult relationship she had with her father.
Things, however, subsequently became tense after Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) took drugs, with George convinced that Harry had played a role in such a thing.
Next week, Nicola does her best to build bridges with George – but he ultimately calls time on their relationship.
However, the end of their fling proves to be the least of Nicola’s concerns as she later makes an unexpected discovery, with her day going from bad to worse.
The question is just what has transpired? And how much of an impact will it have on Nicola?
