Head of Software, Craig Federighi, will be directly responsible for Subramanda’s work, and this is an extension of Federighi’s role in developing artificial intelligence technologies at Apple.

The entire team that was working with Giannandrea will not be directly under Subramania’s management, as part of it will move to work under COO Sabih Khan and Head of Services Eddy Cue.

This step reflects Apple’s broad interest in the artificial intelligence sector and its attempt to compete in it, as the company intends to launch “Siri” enhanced with artificial intelligence next March.

The CNBC report indicates that Apple is trying to provide artificial intelligence models that are different from other companies, such as Microsoft, Meta, and Google. It prefers to have its models run directly from within the phones instead of running them using the company’s servers, which the rest of the companies do.
