AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF)- High school volleyball is in full swing, with the number one school in 3A the ARC Musketeers taking on Aquinas High School.
However, this match was extra special for number 9 Caitlyn Rivers. The senior and outside hitter was set to record her 1,000th career kill in tonight’s matchup. When she did, the JV team and students all stormed the court with balloons, signs, and hugs all around.
Rivers leads the team averaging 5.3 kills per set, and a .535 hitting percentage, making her the third best outside hitter in the state.
“I couldn’t do it without my teammates, especially harper I wouldn’t be able to do it without everyone. So, it means a lot knowing all these people that are there for me,” Rivers said.
“I hope its inspirational for the younger kids, I hope it wants to continue them to get better and continue to want to play over the years so it’s not something that’s easy, but very rewarding once you finally get that accomplishment.”
