Leroy Sane is set to snub a return to the Premier League and has reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Galatasaray.

The former Manchester City winger sparked a transfer frenzy earlier this month after opting to leave Bayern Munich as a free agent.

Sane was inundated with offers but is now, according to Sky Germany, on the verge of signing a multi-year deal worth between £8.47million and £10.16m.

The 29-year-old’s agent, Pini Zahavi, had been conducting talks with a number of leading European clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham.

Mikel Arteta is desperate to bolster his forward line this summer and had reportedly been keen to reunite with Sane having worked with him during their time together at City.

Spurs, too, were credited with a strong interest while, in recent days, Al-Hilal had emerged as suitors.

Sane is, however, on the cusp of signing for the Turkish giants and officiallybringing down the curtain on his five-year spell at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern, for their part, had been keen on agreeing fresh terms with Sane but were not prepared to break their wage structure to do so.

Having made his final decision, Sane will leave before Bayern jet out to America for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Having missed out on Sane, Arsenal will not turn their attentions to finalising a deal to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

A new centre forward is seen as a priority after Arsenal left themselves short in that department last season with injuries forcing Arteta to turn Mikel Merino into a makeshift striker.

Arsenal had been deliberating over whether to move for Sesko or Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres but are now making significant progress in their attempts to sign the Slovenia international.

A wide forward is also high on Arteta’s agenda with the likes of Nico Williams and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo on Arsenal’s radar.

The Brazil international looks set to feature at the Club World Cup for Real but is seeking talks with Xabi Alonso and wants assurances over where he fits into his new manager’s plans.
