The African epiphany of the year hit me today, when I learned that the “majestic ZANU-PF”, founded by “Feu Robert Mugabe”, and now headed by the president (PR) of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, decided, on Saturday 18, during the party’s annual conference, to give instructions to the government, to begin preparing a draft constitutional review, which would allow the PR manager to Mnangagwa, 83, who is expected to finish his second presidential term in 2028, the proposed review aims to extend this presidency until 2030! Why?
Why yes, because the PR party is truly majestic in occupying the majority of parliament, allowing constitutionality in illiberality, sending the country to the list of Democracies, with a capital letter. A statistical success!
But it goes deeper than that, because there are more pieces to the puzzle. Before going to Generation Z, we need to decode what happened in Cameroon, after the presidential elections on Sunday the 12th.
PR Paul Biya, 92, “ran” for a ninth “term”, with weak participation, because the weakened opposition guaranteed victory to the husband of the controversial Chantal, 54. However, no one expected the opposition candidate, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, 82, to pull the next rabbit out of the hat. On Monday 13th, he assumed victory, even during the count, appealing to manager Biya, who was ready to accept defeat and pass on the testimony to the next generation!
Two notes, firstly, the small age difference legitimizes the younger one in the affront, as it is a wise man against a wise man and not a sixty-year-old bully! The silence of the “eternal Biya” mirrors this, the chill of the end, which must be freezing!
Secondly, I believe that the great conclusion/epiphany is to perceive the beginning of an atomic revolution, within the great African demographic pyramid, where the youngest atoms collide with each other, reaching the senators at the top in a vertical tetris.
The affront presented by Biya’s opponent is actually a class solution. We are going to die standing up, as “changos with two legs” are coming, who run faster than us, who have four legs again!
These “changos” are the gazelles of Generation Z, who will set Africa and probably Europe on fire in 2026. It seems to me, an African nihilist movement, which will consciously transform itself into a new opportunity for a pan-Africanism that laments the non-existent, such as African architecture, its own history, dialects, everything that they saw their grandparents neglect, under the discourse of national construction, which continued to obey the other and today was unmasked through free information for all tastes!
