England’s biggest divers of the season crowned… as shocking record revealed
RELEGATED League One side Bristol Rovers have topped one table this season – being crowned the most prolific divers in England’s top divisions.
The West Country team recorded eight yellow cards for simulation, the most of any team over the course of the past three seasons.

Premier League giant Chelsea followed with seven bookings for taking a tumble – the same number as Burton Albion.
Manchester City, Newcastle United, Crawley Town, Accrington Stanley and Barrow have been reprimanded six times each after being caught trying to con the ref.
Football statistician Statman Dave ran the numbers as part of Snickers’ wider Off Your Game campaign, with the Deep Diving Audit offering a data-led look at diving across English football.
Dave O’Brien, who pored over match footage, referee reports and extensive game insights to reveal all the most dramatic diving data, said: “Diving has always been a part of the game, but when you look at the numbers, like I’ve done for Snickers’ Deep Diving Audit, it’s clear that some clubs and players really know how to keep things interesting.
“Whether it’s tactical, instinctive, or maybe even hunger-related, one thing is for sure, when players are off their game, it shows.
“And sometimes, it’s not just the ball that goes rolling.”
Nearly all cases of diving occurred in the second half, with a particular uptick during the 90th minute – and 70 per cent of dives took place in the penalty area.
With Brighton & Hove Albion being named as the club players have dived against most in the Premier League.
Strikers are responsible for 26 per cent of all dives over the last three seasons, whereas in defence, only one centre-back was carded for a diving offence.
Looking at the 2024/25 campaign specifically, 75 per cent of dives occurred when the players’ team wasn’t winning, with the average dive last season lasting nine seconds.
Additionally, the average diving age is 22, they most typically wear white boots – and are also English, with these players making up 42 per cent of dives in the season just gone.
Diving in the men’s game is significantly more prominent compared to the women’s – with just one diving booking found on record from the last three seasons in the Women’s Super League.
Snickers has enlisted football experts Statman Dave and Nada Allali to create a video which uncovers the most over-the-top tumbles across the England’s top leagues.
Delia Lendais-Metral from the chocolate brand said: “Let’s face it, when you’re hungry, you’re not quite yourself.
“The Snickers Deep Diving Audit taps into those moments when things go slightly off, on or off the pitch.”
“Whether it’s a mis-timed slide or a full-blown flop, this is a fun reminder that staying fuelled helps keep you on your game.”
TOP 8 MOST DIVE-PRONE CLUBS OF THE PAST THREE SEASONS (22/23, 23/24, 24/25)
1. Bristol Rovers – 8 dives
2. Chelsea – 7 dives
3. Burton Albion – 7 dives
4. Manchester City – 6 dives
5. Newcastle United – 6 dives
6. Crawley Town – 6 dives
7. Accrington Stanley – 6 dives
8. Barrow – 6 dives
John Lewis to make major change to loyalty scheme – and it’ll cost you more
JOHN Lewis will make a major change to it’s loyalty scheme and it will cost customers more.
Partnership credit card holders will see their perks slashed when they shop with other retailers.

Customers with the card earn points on purchases which they can convert into gift vouchers to spend in John Lewis and its sister brand Waitrose.
Each point coverts into 1p.
Currently customers earn a point for every £4 they spend at other stores.
However come August that is set to change, with the amount increasing to £10.
It means customers will have to spend more money at other stores to receive vouchers or wait a longer time to see their rewards build up.
The rewards for spending at John Lewis and Waitrose stores will remain unchanged at five points for every £4 spent.
Customers also get a £5 voucher for every 500 points they earn.
John Lewis Money spokesperson said: “Our rewards are being updated to help maintain our market-leading reward for spending at John Lewis and Waitrose, where customers earn 1.25% back on every pound spent.
“Spending on purchases made elsewhere will earn 0.1% from 1st August.”
It is not the first time the retailer has lowered rewards for spending elsewhere.
In 2020, the retailer reduced the amount customers of points customers earn from purchases made at other stores from one point for £2 spent to £4.
But it is not all bad news for card holders, with the retailer announcing bigger rewards for loyal customers.
For the next three years, shoppers will earn triple points when shopping in John Lewis stores and double points when shopping online.
The spokesperson added: These changes enable us to invest in the rewards that are most valued by our customers – alongside a new bonus to help customers earn additional points throughout August.”
PARTNERSHIP CREDIT CARD
John Lewis’s credit card lets customers earn points on money they spend in stores and other retailers.
Customers can also get certain perks such as discounted cinema tickets.
If you are interested in signing up you will need to undergo a credit check.
But it is important to check the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) on any credit card before you sign up.
This is amount of interest you will be charged, if you do not pay off your credit card in full every month.
John Lewis charges customers 28.9% APR on its Partnership card.
Credit card need-to-knows

Not using a credit card effectively can wreak havoc on your finances and your credit score.
If you don’t keep up with repayments or default on your debt, you are likely to get a black mark on your credit record, which could affect your ability to get a credit card, loan or mortgage in the future.
It’s important not to let yourself get sucked into overspending.
You should always clear the full balance as soon as possible.
If you have a poor credit score, don’t bank on being approved for a card or getting the 0% deal you’d hoped for.
Card providers only have to give the advertised rate to 51% of applicants, so you could end up paying more interest than you bargained for.
If you’ve got a poor credit record, you’re less likely to get the best rates.
And if you are looking for a new credit card, don’t apply for lots at once.
After your 0% period is up, lenders can charge upwards of 40% interest, so if you have not repaid the debt fully by then, try to move the debt onto another 0% deal.
Major channel replaced on millions of Sky Q boxes TODAY plus three more big changes all viewers need to know
SKY Q viewers may notice a channel has been replaced on their boxes today.
The move also affects other TV platforms, including Sky Glass, Virgin Media and Freeview to name a few.

Monday marks the launch of ITV Quiz, the UK broadcaster’s new destination for all its much-loved game shows.
The channel appeared on screens this morning, starting with an episode of word game Lingo.
Other favourites including Wheel of Fortune, Tipping Point, Tenable, Deal or No Deal and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? are set to be shown on the channel too.
However, fans of The Chase will be disappointed to see that it’s not on the schedule at all during launch week.
Fortunately, the programme has its own dedicated channel with back-to-back episodes on ITVX instead.
ITV Quiz has come about due to massive changes at the broadcaster as it looks to save money.
This means, ITVBe is no more after over ten years on air.
Huge reality series like The Only Way is Essex and The Real Housewives of Cheshire will live on over at ITV2 – which was TOWIE’s original home until ITVBe launched in October 2014.
ITV Quiz will take the same slot on TV guides as ITVBe.
That’s 131 on Sky satellite, 125 on Sky Glass / Stream, 119 on Virgin Media and 28 on Freeview.
MORE SKY CHANGES

There are more changes on Sky today - though these will only affect Sky Cinema subscribers.
As part of regular refreshes, Sky Blockbusters, Sky Pitch Perfect and Sky Family are all disappearing.
In their place will be Sky Hits, Sky Comedy and Sky Fantasy respectively.

Other big changes across the company mean more than 220 jobs are set to be axed across ITV‘s daytime shows.
This will affect Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning.
Next year, production teams working behind the scenes will be merged for the latter three shows to save money, as well as moving to a new studio.
Loose Women and Lorraine will only air 30 weeks of the year instead of all 52 weeks.
Reports suggest Loose Women may lose its studio audience too.
Lorraine Kelly’s morning show will also be cut from an hour long to just 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, Good Morning Britain will be produced by ITV News at ITN from 2026 moving to its studios in central London.
ITV's daytime TV schedule changes in full
Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily.
Lorraine will run from 9.30am-10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.
During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am.
This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year.
Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.
The changes will take effect from January 2026.

Shameless James Argent dances with pal Megan McKenna at her wedding after assault arrest
SHAMELESS James Argent danced with his pal Megan McKenna at her lavish wedding this weekend after his assault arrest.
Towie alum James, 37, beamed from ear-to-ear and busted a move alongside his former co-star Megan, 32, following her nuptials with footballer Oliver Burke, 28.

Posting a video to Instagram from the festivities, he wrote in his caption: “Congratulations to the beautiful Bride, My dear friend @meganmckenna who got married to the lovely @oliverjburke yesterday.
“I can’t tell you how much it meant to me, That you wanted me there on your special Wedding day.
“We danced together just like old times in Nu Bar Loughton when we were kids.
“We always supported each other in those TOWIE days & remained friends ever since.
“You’ve blossomed into an amazing woman. You’re a fantastic mum & you’re going to make a great wife!
“And your a much better singer than me haha. Love ya.”
Country songstress Megan commented: “Thankyou so much, this is so lovely. What a night, your a special friend. Literally felt like old times at nu haha. The best love you.”
Mark Wright‘s mum Carol threw her support behind him too, writing: “Love this. Xxx.”
The post comes shortly after Nicoline, 32, released a bombshell statement revealing shocking details about James’ attack on her.
James turned on model Nicoline while they were at their home in Spain last month.
He was arrested and spent several hours in police cells before admitting a charge of domestic violence in court.
Nicoline later spoke out in a statement, confessing: “My fractures on my body have finally healed but I’m wounded inside.”
Recalling the traumatic experience, she said: “I was brutally thrown out of our new home in the middle of the night wearing only my pyjamas.
“I opened the door to let him in and only minutes after I found myself laying down on the stairs outside our house.
My clothes and belongings were being thrown out from the balcony down on me. I was injured.”
Nicoline also placed the blame for Argent’s violence with constant clashes over his ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright.
Shortly before the attack, she posted a story questioning whether it was acceptable for someone to remain close to their ex while in a new relationship.
And Nicoline claimed she and Argent often clashed over Lydia’s involvement in their romance.
She said: “I felt there were too many people in our relationship: me, my boyfriend and his ex. ‘Three’s a crowd’, they say.
“I asked so many times if we could be just the two of us, but the answer was a strong NO.
“I experienced what I can only describe as targeted emotional distress which he allowed to continue.”
Nicoline continued: “After being together for one year my boyfriend finally promised me that he would have boundaries.
“He would put a stop to all that had been going on for months.
“But he didn’t. Instead he broke the promise and her controlling behaviour continued. The rest is history.”
Domestic abuse - how to get help
DOMESTIC abuse can affect anyone - including men - and does not always involve physical violence.
Here are some signs that you could be in an abusive relationship:
- Emotional abuse – Including being belittled, blamed for the abuse – gaslighting – being isolated from family and friends, having no control over your finances, what you wear and who you speak to
- Threats and intimidation – Some partners might threaten to kill or hurt you, destroy your belongings, stalk or harass you
- Physical abuse – This can range from slapping or hitting to being shoved over, choked or bitten.
- Sexual abuse – Being touched in a way you do not want to be touched, hurt during sex, pressured into sex or forced to have sex when you do not consent.
If any of the above apply to you or a friend, you can call these numbers:
- The Freephone National Domestic Abuse Helpline, run by Refuge on 0808 2000 247 for free at any time, day or night
- Men who are being abused can call Respect Men’s Advice Line on 0808 8010 327 or ManKind on 0182 3334 244
- Those who identify as LGBT+ can ring Galop on 0800 999 5428
- If you are in immediate danger or fear for your life, always ring 999
Remember, you are not alone.
1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse over the course of their lifetime.
Every 30 seconds the police receive a call for help relating to domestic abuse.
Nicoline went on to thank the people who came to her aid and added: ” have tried to understand why.
“I have cried so many tears thinking about the way he chose to hurt me. He said he loved me and I believed him and here we are.
“There is now a legal record of what happened. Violence has no excuse – no matter how much love preceded it.”
Argent was handed a six month suspended sentence and a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting Nicoline.
He has only spoken once since The Sun revealed the attack on Nicoline and said: “I haven’t relapsed.
“I am still three years and four months clean and sober.
“I am devastated by what’s happened.”
