Panic erupted on the Las Vegas Strip and footage shared on social media showed tourists fleeing.

One person has died, according to KSNV-TV.

Cops have confirmed that the shooting did not happen inside a casino.

Locals were urged to avoid the area and a murder probe is now underway.

The shooting was reportedly captured on a YouTube livestream and seven shots were fired.

“Are you f**king kidding me?!” one woman was heard saying in the footage.

Swarms of cop cars were seen charging down the Las Vegas strip.

The shooting comes just years after 60 people were killed when Stephen Paddock opened fire at a music festival on the Las Vegas Strip.

He fired more than 1,000 rounds from his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

More than 800 people were injured in the massacre.

James Argent’s ex Nicoline Artursson returns to social media after 800 word statement slamming Towie star

NICOLINE Artursson has returned to social media with a heartfelt tribute to her father days after breaking her silence on ex-boyfriend James Argent’s brutal assault.

The post comes shortly after Nicoline released a bombshell statement revealing shocking details about Argent’s attack on her.

James Argent reveals major step he's taking with new girlfriend after just four months together Nicoline Artursson, https://www.instagram.com/p/DAN8Iontayu/?hl=en&img_index=1
It comes after Nicoline shared an emotional statement recalling the traumatic experience
Instagram

The former Miss Sweden shared a photo of her parents who have been supporting her since the attack.

She celebrated dad Stephan’s birthday with a sweet tribute, thanking her mum and dad for being her “role models”.

Stephan beamed in the photo, wearing a crisp white suit with a printed shirt underneath, as her mum Pernille looked glamorous in a multi-coloured dress.

The couple each held a glass of wine and flashed bright smiles, looking every bit the picture of love.

Nicoline appeared to make a dig at Argent, 37, as she showered praise on her dad, saying he has been an incredible partner to her mum.

Nicoline wrote over the photo: “My biggest role models. Married for 28 years.

“Not only are you a heck of a businessman, a 9-times Iron Man, World Tour Swim-Runner, an incredible husband to mom etc etc… Yes the list goes on.

“You are truly the best dad anyone could ever dream of and we are so blessed to have you, our Super-Hero!

“Happy Birthday daddy cool, we love you.”

The warm tribute to her father comes after the emotional turmoil Nicoline revealed days earlier.

Former Towie star Argent turned on model Nicoline, 32, while they were at their home in Spain last month.

He was arrested and spent several hours in police cells before admitting a charge of domestic violence in court.

Now Nicoline has spoken out in a statement – confessing: “My fractures on my body have finally healed but I’m wounded inside.”

Recalling the traumatic experience, she said: “I was brutally thrown out of our new home in the middle of the night wearing only my pyjamas.

Domestic abuse - how to get help

DOMESTIC abuse can affect anyone - including men - and does not always involve physical violence.

Here are some signs that you could be in an abusive relationship:

  • Emotional abuse – Including being belittled, blamed for the abuse – gaslighting – being isolated from family and friends, having no control over your finances, what you wear and who you speak to
  • Threats and intimidation – Some partners might threaten to kill or hurt you, destroy your belongings, stalk or harass you
  • Physical abuse – This can range from slapping or hitting to being shoved over, choked or bitten.
  • Sexual abuse – Being touched in a way you do not want to be touched, hurt during sex, pressured into sex or forced to have sex when you do not consent.

If any of the above apply to you or a friend, you can call these numbers:

Remember, you are not alone.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse over the course of their lifetime.

Every 30 seconds the police receive a call for help relating to domestic abuse.

“I opened the door to let him in and only minutes after I found myself laying down on the stairs outside our house.

My clothes and belongings were being thrown out from the balcony down on me. I was injured.”

Nicoline also placed the blame for Argent’s violence with constant clashes over his ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright.

Shortly before the attack, she posted a story questioning whether it was acceptable for someone to remain close to their ex while in a new relationship.

And Nicoline claimed she and Argent often clashed over Lydia’s involvement in their romance.

She said: “I felt there were too many people in our relationship: me, my boyfriend and his ex. ‘Three’s a crowd’, they say.

“I asked so many times if we could be just the two of us, but the answer was a strong NO.

“I experienced what I can only describe as targeted emotional distress which he allowed to continue.”

Nicoline continued: “After being together for one year my boyfriend finally promised me that he would have boundaries.

“He would put a stop to all that had been going on for months.

“But he didn’t. Instead he broke the promise and her controlling behaviour continued. The rest is history.”

Nicoline went on to thank the people who came to her aid and added: ” have tried to understand why.

“I have cried so many tears thinking about the way he chose to hurt me. He said he loved me and I believed him and here we are.

“There is now a legal record of what happened. Violence has no excuse – no matter how much love preceded it.”

Argent was handed a six month suspended sentence and a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting Nicoline.

He has only spoken once since The Sun revealed the attack on Nicoline and said: “I haven’t relapsed.

“I am still three years and four months clean and sober.

“I am devastated by what’s happened.”

Instagram post detailing the author's experience with emotional and physical abuse.
Nicoline posted this statement on social media

Nicoline Artursson's statement in full

It’s now been a month. I still can’t believe it.

My fractures on my body have finally healed but I’m wounded inside. I’ve been quiet long enough. Silence protects no one – and it almost destroyed me.

What started as a love story sadly turned into something else. Behind the pictures, promises and the plans for a life together – the beautiful days – changed into something into sadness with emotional manipulation and eventually physical harm.

I loved deeply, believed in our future and stood by someone I thought would protect me and instead I was left alone and harmed in ways I never imagined.

I was not only failed by him but deeply affected by the presence of unresolved ties to his past.

Yes I posted an Instagram story with a simple yes or no question about if your ex should be a part of your present relationship. I felt there were too many people in our relationship: me, my boyfriend and his ex. ‘Three’s a crowd’, they say.

I asked so many times if we could be just the two of us, but the answer was a strong NO. I experienced what I can only describe as targeted emotional distress which he allowed to continue.

The ex and her family put us through so much misery and false accusations, I won’t go into details. They had no reason whatsoever to do what they did to us, but for some reason they wouldn’t let go and let us enjoy our love.

Everybody knows that real friends support you and want to see you happy.

So I posted a story on Instagram.

After being together for one year my boyfriend finally promised me that he would have boundaries.

He would put a stop to all that had been going on for months.

But he didn’t. Instead he broke the promise and her controlling behaviour continued. The rest is history.

I was brutally thrown out of our new home in the middle of the night wearing only my pyjamas. I opened the door to let him in and only minutes after I found myself laying down on the stairs outside our house.

My clothes and belongings were being thrown out from the balcony down on me. I was injured.

Thanks to incredible neighbours who heard and saw what happened and acted, I got help. They called police, brought me to safety and ensured the incident was taken seriously.

A gentleman does not abuse you and end up in jail and call you the love of his life. A gentleman does not blame you for his actions. A gentleman will confide in his partner, family and close circle of friends, keeping them close and safe. A gentleman chooses you always and leaves the past in the past – including exes.

Life is to be lived together and not to please people who want to take advantage of you. At the end of the day, fame can only do so much – it’s all about being strong and growing together.

Life is simply not a reality TV show, life is real.

I have tried to understand why. I have cried so many tears thinking about the way he chose to hurt me. He said he loved me and I believed him and here we are.

There is now a legal record of what happened. Violence has no excuse – no matter how much love preceded it.

To those who questioned me for staying as long as I did: I stayed because I believed in love. I believed he and we could grow, could heal, could choose peace. But love doesn’t survive in chaos. And it cannot survive where violence lives.

To every woman reading this: if you’ve ever questioned your worth, your safety or your sanity in a relationship – this is your sign. You deserved to be loved with care and integrity. And you are not alone.

To the men: real strength is protection. Real love is safe. Be the kind of man who lifts women up – not one who breaks them down, neither by violence or silence.

To the future: never say never. I will get the little family I’ve always dreamed of and have my dream wedding to symbolise and celebrate true love in front of my dear family and friends.

I’m healing now. Slowly, bravely and unapologetically. I will rise and I will use my voice – not for vengeance but for truth. For every woman who’s been silenced by someone who said ‘I love you’ and then proved otherwise.

This is not just my story. It’s a reminder: abuse – whether emotional, psychological or physical – has no place in love.

My garden looked old with a broken patio & dirty walls – now it’s a lush oasis & people can’t believe how little I spent

A DIY enthusiast has turned her garden from drab to fab without breaking the bank.

So if you want to transform your outside space but don’t have loads of extra cash to splash, then you’ve come to the right place and will need to check this out.

Amanda’s garden was in desperate need of some TLC, with a broken patio and a very tired looking fence.

But now, her space is absolutely stunning and people can’t believe how little she spent on the impressive overhaul.

Posting on social media, Amanda gave her followers a before, during and after look at her garden, leaving many totally stunned.

Showing off her “garden makeover on a budget”, Amanda confirmed that she started off with a plain brick wall and a patio that was “old and broken.”

She explained that her fence panels “needed some TLC” and expressed that “the walls were looking very old.”

As a result, Amanda got to work on her garden project and started out with jet washing and painting.

Not only was Amanda able to get rid of years of dirt and grime thanks to the jet washing, but she was also able to light up the space in an instant with a quick lick of paint.

She confirmed that she used the Dulux paint in the shade Sandstone, as she beamed: “It brightened the area up massively.”

The DIY fan then used some extra slabs she “already had” to fix her patio area and then “laid a new smaller patio.”

Following this, on a mission to turn the space into a lush oasis in time for summer, Amanda “added some trellis and then built a pergola”.

But that wasn’t all, as she also then “got some turf to fill a small space” in the middle of the garden.

Additionally, she “covered the old fence” with trellis from Wickes and “added flowers to the border”, further bringing colour to the once dull space.

To complete the project, Amanda planted lots of flowers into pots and furnished the area with outside seating and a rug which she got from B&Q, as well as cushions, candles, plants, lights and a variety of pretty hanging decorations.

We think Amanda’s garden looks fabulous, but were left even more gobsmacked when she confirmed just how little it cost her.

Garden features that add the most value to a house

A well-kept garden can add anywhere between 5-20% to the value of a property.

Sellhousefast.uk carried out a study and consulted 36 estate agents, garden designers and property professionals from across the UK.

And the experts revealed the garden feature which adds the most value to a property is a shed.

  1. Shed – 82%
  2. Patio or paving – 76%
  3. Secure fencing, walls or gates – 72%
  4. Outdoor lighting – 66%
  5. Sturdy decking – 62%
  6. Water features eg. fountain or pond – 58%
  7. Modern garden furniture – 54%
  8. Artificial lawn/grass – 40%

Amanda confirmed that she had a £500 budget for the project and while she went “over spent slightly because of the turf”, she was able to keep costs down by using items from her old home that she kept in storage, including the grey tellis.

She later acknowledged: “The most costly things were the pergola and furniture.”

Social media users gasp

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @garden_with_amanda, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 31,100 views, 718 likes and 52 comments.

DIY fans loved Amanda’s garden makeover and many eagerly raced to the comments to express this.

It’s beautiful but can’t be on budget… I swear

8 must-have plants to brighten up your garden

Nick Hamilton owner of Barnsdale Gardens has shared his favourite plants and flowers you should consider adding to your garden, borders and pots.

Tricyrtis

A spectacular plant that gives a real exotic feel to any garden with its orchid-like, spotted flowers giving the impression that this plant should be tender but it is “as tough as old boots!”.

Penstemon

I love this plants genus of because most will flower all summer and autumn. They’ll grow in sun or semi-shade in a well drained soil and produce a non-stop display of tubular flowers in an array of colours and colour combination to suit all tastes.

Luzula sylvatica ‘Marginata’

With the evergreen leaves edged with yellow it’s great asset is that it
will grow in sun or shade in any type of soil and is great as groundcover in the hardest spot to fill – dry shade.

Eryngium x zabelii ‘Big Blue’

A stunning, nectar-rich plant that will feed the beneficial insects in your
garden. Leave the flowerheads once they have turned brown because they look stunning with winter frost and snow, extending the plant’s interest period.

Sarcococca hookeriana ‘Winter Gem’

If you need winter scent then look no further than this compact, evergreen shrub. The scent is stunning and the evergreen leaves create an excellent backdrop for the summer flowers.

Cornus sanguinea ‘Anny’s Winter Orange’

A dwarf version of ‘Midwinter Fire’ the very colourful stems create a stunning winter display, particularly on sunny days.

Rosa ‘Noisette Carnee’

A very well-behaved climbing rose that is perfect for training over an arch, pergola or gazebo. The small, “noisette” flowers are blush-pink and produce the most amazing clove scent constantly from June to November.

Sanguisorba hakusanensis ‘Lilac Squirrel’

I’ve never seen a squirrel with a drooping, shaggy lilac tail, but this variety will give your garden an unusual and different look throughout summer. It does need a moisture retentive soil but will grow in sun or semi-shade.

A third commented: “Omg wow!! I would happily sit there all day.”

Not only this, but someone else chimed in and beamed: “Looks amazing.”

Meanwhile, others were stunned that Amanda was able to transform her space on such a small budget, as one user gasped: “It’s beautiful but can’t be on budget… I swear.”

World Cup of Darts 2025: Full schedule, results, start time, live stream, TV as Littler and Humphries represent England

ENGLAND will be represented by a double dose of Luke this week as Littler and Humphries pair up at the World Cup of Darts 2025!

The men’s England football team failed to bring it home during the Euro 2024, but Luke Humphries and Michael Smith made the nation proud in last year’s World Cup of Darts.

A combination of composure and superb throwing saw Cool Hand and Bully Boy beat their Austrian opponents 10-6 in an epic final.

And it was a result that wrote England’s name in the history books as they now hold the record for the most amount of wins in the iconic competition with five.

Sadly for Smith, his world ranking positioning means he will miss out on the chance to retain back-to-back titles.

However, he has a more than capable replacement of 2024 Premier League winner and teen millionaire, Luke Littler.

Welsh stars Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price will pose a huge threat to England’s title, and Gary Anderson and Peter Wright should also fancy themselves.

But as for the Netherlands, they have suffered a massive blow to their chances with Michael van Gerwen pulling out of all upcoming tournaments due to his split with wife Daphne.

When is the World Cup of Darts 2025?

The World Cup of Darts 2025 will get underway on Thursday, June 12.

It will run over four days, concluding on Sunday, June 15.

Eissporthalle am Ratsweg in Frankfurt, Germany is the chosen venue for this iconic tournament.

Group stage matches begin at 6pm BST and then the latter stage fixtures are split in afternoon sessions (11am/12pm) and evening sessions (6pm).

The quarter-finals, semi-final and final will ALL be held on Sunday, June 15.

What TV channel is the World Cup of Darts 2025 on and can it be live streamed?

  • The World Cup of Darts 2025 will be broadcast LIVE on Sky Sports.
  • Subscription members can stream the entire four-day event on NOW TV.
  • Alternatively, SunSport will be running a live blog providing leg-by-leg coverage of the World Cup of Darts 2025.

What is the World Cup of Darts 2025 format?

There will be 40 different nations taking part at this year’s World Cup of Darts.

The top four seeded nations go straight into the second round, while the remaining 36 nations are split into 12 groups of three.

Each group winner will progress through to the second round, and then the tournament will be knockout from then on.

And each group stage game sees teams compete in a best-of-seven legs match, before the second round, quarter-finals and semi-finals are all best of 15 legs.

The World Cup final will then be best of 19 legs.

All matches are played in the doubles format, with teammates taking turns at the oche.

Mum of three Christine, who finished off her look with a chunky cream fur coat, appeared carefree after The Sun revealed she had confided in Jacqueline Jossa’s partner Dan Osborne about their marriage woes.

The TV star – who was married to comedian Paddy, 51, until their split in 2022 – styled her blonde hair into a relaxed, straight style and kept her make-up fresh, with nude lipstick and thick black mascara.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire alum flooded her Instagram grid with her glam snaps after heading to Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter tour.

In her caption, she wrote: “Last night with BAE’once.

“Honestly @beyonce was the most incredible live show I have ever seen!”

One fan was quick to comment: “Just Wow! You’re a Breathtakingly Beautiful Lady.”

A second posted: “I genuinely have to say, you look truly radiant! How do you keep looking more breathtakingly beautiful than anyone I’ve ever seen?”

Christine was quick to reply, and shared: “Freedom, happiness.”

A third fan then wrote: “So beautiful hope you had a great night.”

BOND WITH DAN

Christine’s outings came just days after her close connection with married TV star Dan came to light.

We reported how the pair previously comforted each other with their respective marital struggles and sent flirty texts.

Model Christine said Dan had joined her for raucous nights out that helped lift her spirits after her split from her radio and TV host husband.

A pal told The Sun: “Dan and Christine have known each other for years.

“Their friendship goes as far back as 2019, when Jac was heading Down Under to the I’m A Celeb jungle, when they had a brilliant night out at a fund-raising gala in London.

Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne relationship timeline

Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne have weathered several storms since they first got together over 10 years ago. Here's how their relationship has played out

2013: After meeting at an awards ceremony that year, Jacqueline and Dan start going on a string of dates

November 2013: Jacqueline is forced to defend Dan online after it was revealed he had also been on dates with Ferne McCann, Jac cleared up the matter by saying he was “single and can do what he wants”.

August 2014: Dan and Jacqueline announce that she is pregnant with their first child together

February 2015: The couple welcome their first baby, a daughter named Ella.

June 2015: Dan excitedly announced on Twitter that he and Jacqueline were engaged after a romantic proposal in Greece. He wrote: “She said YES!!! I am the luckiest man in the world to be marrying the woman of my dreams.”

June 2017: The couple exchange vows at a star-studded wedding ceremony at Cheshire Manor House.

January 2018: The couple announced they were expecting their second baby together.

May 2018: News reports that the couple have split with Dan heading off to a Marbella bootcamp when she was 30 weeks pregnant. Dan later confirmed he was living with a friend, and told Daily Star Sunday: “I’m still staying with a mate. I left because we were arguing and it is such a waste of energy.

“The way I look at life is every day spent unhappy is a wasted day, and we were both having a lot of unhappy days,” he added. “I still obviously care for Jacqueline but if we can’t make each other happy then we shouldn’t stay together. Life is too short.”

May 2018: Dan was seen getting close to Gabby Allen, sparking rumours they were now seeing each other during his break with Jacqueline.

June 2018: The couple’s second daughter, Mia, is born.

October 2018: Dan and Jacqueline confirm they are giving their relationship another shot, telling OK! Magazine they “went through a bad patch” but are “stronger than ever”.

November 2019: Jacqueline enters I’m A Celebrity but threatens to quit when Myles Stephenson confesses to her he thinks Dan cheated on her with his ex, Gabby Allen. She later is given a voicemail, and chooses to stay, winning the show.

December 2019: Celebrity Big Brother star Chloe Ayling accuses Dan of having a threesome with her and Natalie Nunn on a boozy night out. Chloe stated in an interview with The Sun that Dan was “making a fool of Jacqueline”.

August 2024: Dan and Jacqueline become victim of a terrifying kidnap plot while they’re on holiday with their daughters. The pair claim £20,000 worth of jewellery and even their girls’ tooth fairy money was stolen.

January 2025: Gabby Allen denies all relationship rumours with Dan and claims they have now completely cut contact, saying she “hopes he and Jacqueline are happy together.”

January 2025: The couple are one again forced to deny split claims, with friends saying they were “upset and hurt” at the allegations after they put their home on the market.

March 2025: The Sun exclusively reveals that Dan has moved out of the home he shares with Jacqueline.

“They stayed in touch sporadically and would bump into each other at events and their messages got pretty flirty.

“Some were seen by mutual friends.

“She would call him ‘D’ in texts and it became an open secret among their circles.

“There is no suggestion anything sexual happened, but it’s fair to say there was a spark between them.”

Former Towie star Dan is adamant nothing happened romantically between the pair, even suggesting that the text messages between them were “deep fakes or AI” when asked.

A pal said: “Dan is devoted to Jacqueline and would hate for any suggestion of impropriety.

“Of course, it’s possible for a man and woman to be mates.”Despite this, Dan has reportedly sent grovelling messages to Jacqueline – with whom he’s trying to repair his marriage to – after the news broke.

Yet the EastEnders actress appeared to show her sadness as she posted lyrics to an emotional song about “not wanting to be seen” shortly after the news broke.

‘I don’t want to be in that situation again’ – Emma Raducanu ‘wary’ of going out after stalker left her in tears

EMMA RADUCANU has been “wary” when she goes out since her Dubai stalker hell.

The British star, 22, was left in tears on court when an obsessed man appeared at her match-up with Karolina Muchova in Dubai.

The man, who is said to have followed Raducanu 3,600 miles across Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Dubai, was subsequently given a restraining order.

Raducanu is now set to play on home soil for the first time since her stalker ordeal, as she competes in the HSBC Championships at Queen’s this week.

Reflecting on what she went through in Dubai, the former US Open champion told the BBC: “I’ve definitely noticed a difference in how people are watching my back when I’m on the site.

“I’m obviously wary when I go out. I try not to be careless about it because you only realise how much of a problem it is when you’re in that situation and I don’t necessarily want to be in that situation again.

“But off the court right now, I feel good. I feel pretty settled. I feel like I have good people around me and anything that was kind of negative I’m just like trying to brush it off as much as I can.”

Raducanu is set to be in action this week as women’s tennis returns to West London’s historic Queen’s Club for the first time since 1973.

The world No37 will take on qualifier Cristina Bucsa in round one on Tuesday.

While she is also set to make a rare foray into doubles, pairing up with GB team-mate Katie Boulter.

Raducanu has been boosted by the return of former coach Nick Cavaday.

The pair temporarily stopped working together earlier this year as Cavaday battled a health issue.

Following a brief stint with Vlado Platenik, Raducanu reunited with another former coach, Mark Petchey.

Ahead of Queen’s, Raducanu confirmed that she will be working with both Cavaday and Petchey moving forward.

She said: “I’m happy to see Nick healthy.

“It’s been a long time since we were last on court together in Australia. Nick was around, and it was nice to just have a few days with him and they’ll both be helping me.

“They both have banks of experience and can complement each other really well. I trust them both and that is fundamental.”

Raducanu, who was beaten in round two of Roland Garros by Iga Swiatek, has played well on the grass in the past – but is not expecting much of herself this time around due to a recent injury scare.

‘MY EXPECTATIONS, TRUTHFULLY, ARE PRETTY LOW’

The British No2 said: “Of course you want to win the tournament, especially when it’s at home.

“But my expectations, truthfully, are pretty low.

“I had two days off after I finished in Paris and then got straight back on the court.

“But I had a small interruption with a back spasm again, so that was a bit annoying and hindered my grass preparation.

“It kept me off court for a few days although the last few days I’ve managed to get on the grass and begin to try and feel my feet.

“So I don’t know how it will hold up. I can’t really predict the future or how it’s going to be.”

Following Queen’s, Raducanu is next scheduled to play in Eastbourne, with the event getting underway on June 23.

She will then head to Wimbledon looking to go on a run, having reached the fourth round last year before agonisingly falling to qualifier Lulu Sun.

My money rule to avoid arguments with my housemates and girlfriend – it’s fair but not everyone will agree

THERE’S nothing more British than the silence at the end of a meal in a restaurant as you wait for someone to say how you’ll split the bill.

With my mates and girlfriend there’s an unwritten rule that we always split the bill equally based on how many of us there are.

Headshot of Sam Walker.
Consumer Reporter Sam Walker’s easy trick avoids money-based arguments

Of course, this can get tricky if someone hasn’t had booze or a much cheaper meal, as it can feel like they’ve got a raw deal.

On the other hand, there’s always one in every friendship group who orders an extra side and pudding.

I can’t help but feel a bit resentful that I’m funding their extra indulgence.

So I wasn’t surprised to hear that the number one issue that couples row about is money, according to Royal London.

It gets even more complicated when you go on holiday.

I’ve often found myself in scenarios with mates where people have taken umbrage at having to split the cost of a night out the day after.

Other times people have kicked up a fuss about splitting the cost of off the cuff activities.

The bill splitting app I swear by

A few years ago on a weekend away with University mates where we play sport, including football, cricket and rounders, one of my friends suggested we use Splitwise.

We were trying to figure out how to share the cost of all the food and drink we’d bought when one friend recommended using the app.

It’s free to download off the Apple App Store or Google Play and couldn’t be easier to navigate.

There’s also a Pro version which costs £3.99 a month or £39.99 a year, letting you add an unlimited number of expenses and scan and add receipts to a running your running total.

Once downloaded, you create a new group (of friends, family or between you and a partner) and can allocate a “type” to that group.

For example, you can make it a “trip”, “home” or “couple”-based group.

Once you’ve done this, you add any expenses to the group and can decide how it’s split between the members.

The options are:

  • you paid, split equally
  • you are owed the full amount
  • someone else paid, split equally
  • someone else paid and is owed the full amount

Once you’ve added any expenses, they are added to a grand total which tells you whether you owe money, or are owed it.

How it has made my life easier

Splitwise has easily become one of my most-used apps, especially since moving in with my partner a year ago.

We use it to split the cost of the weekly food shop, monthly utility bills and takeaways.

You might ask “why would you need a bill-splitting app” for these basic expenses, but in reality it’s a lifesaver.

Her job involves shift work and I work occasional weekends meaning we can sometimes go days without having a proper conversation.

So being able to quickly add a little Tesco Express basket of food or a holiday car rental cost to the app in a matter of seconds, and know how much each person owes, makes for a much more efficient way of tracking our shared expenses.

Using the app for trips abroad with friends has been incredibly helpful as well, especially with larger groups.

I’ve used it on stag dos where costs can quickly add up and various members of the group have different budgets and need to track how much they’ve spent.

Putting everything through the app can avoid awkward conversations where you ask for a few quid back.

It might seem stingy that I’m quibbling with my girlfriend and mates over a couple of quid – but it can quickly add up and it really helps us all feel like things are fair.

Other apps you could use

Unsurprisingly, Splitwise is not the only bill-splitting app out there.

There is also Settle Up which also comes in a basic free version and works similarly to Splitwise.

You can also pay £3.99 a month for Premium which comes with no ads, charts and lets you scan receipts.

The app comes with a 4.8* rating on the Apple App Store, compared with 3.8* for Splitwise.

Splid is another option which comes with no ads even in the free version.

You can also choose to add expenses in 150 currencies while on the Apple App Store reviews show it with a 4.9* rating.

Then there’s acasa, which unlike Splid, Settle Up and Splitwise, lets you pay bills like council tax directly through the app.

It’s free to download and comes with a 4.5* customer rating on the Apple App Store.

How to avoid finance-based tension in relationships

WE spoke to Vicky Reynal, financial psychotherapist, who shared her tips for avoiding arguments over money:

Don’t assume that everyone has the same money values

People have different views when it comes to money: what’s frugal or excessive, what’s too risky vs. responsible, what’s reasonable or petty.

We can’t assume that others will see what’s right or fair the same way we’ll see it come up all the time because we all have different views on what money is for and how it should be used.

When conflict comes up, be curious not attacking

When couples or close friends clash over money, the most powerful thing they can do is create a safe space for honest conversations – free from blame.

Instead of trying to convince the other that they are wrong and you are right, try to be curious about why they might be seeing things their way and share how you feel about it.

It can be helpful – particularly when couples have very different ways of handling money – to ask: “What are the downsides of my approach to money?” and “What are the upsides of theirs?”

As an example, your caution might protect your future, but your partner’s spontaneity might help you live more fully in the present.

Once you begin appreciating each other’s perspectives, it becomes easier to blend approaches and make collaborative financial decisions.

Never rely on assumptions – be crystal clear in your financial agreements

Common sources of conflict I see involve informal financial arrangements among loved ones: “I thought it was a gift—now they’re asking for it back.” “I thought we were splitting the cost evenly”.

The real issue usually lies in the lack of clarity from the start. People often avoid being specific because they don’t want to make things “weird” with someone they care about—but it’s precisely because you care that it’s essential to set clear, unambiguous expectations.

Use financial tools and apps thoughtfully

Apps like Splitwise or Monzo’s shared tabs can be great tools for transparency but it’s best when they are introduced early and used consistently.

If you bring them in after tension has built, they can sometimes feel accusatory. Frame their use as a shared effort to be fair, not to keep score or place blame.

If conflict persists, look at the bigger picture

What I mean by this is that sometimes money conflict is not about money at all. Sometimes a friend making a big deal about £7 you owe them could actually be feeling owed a lot more (has she felt you have been a neglecting friend lately?).

A partner who is uncomfortable because you spent “too much” on a gift might be feeling they don’t have enough to give you emotionally in the relationship.

The point is: ask yourself whether there is a different message that you or the other are trying to convey through this financial conflict.

The Sun exclusively revealed the identity of the latest Love Islander as Antonia Laites — here’s everything we know about her.

Who is Antonia Laites?

Antonia Laites, or Toni as she will be known on Love Island 2025, hails from Connecticut, USA.

She currently lives and works in Las Vegas as a pool cabana server at the exclusive Fontainebleau Resort.

A source told The Sun: “Being Love Island’s first bombshell of the series is a big deal and is always reserved for the sexiest cast members.

“In the past it’s been the likes of Davide, Uma and even Ekin-Su on All Stars.

“Toni landed as part of a huge first day and everyone is very excited.”

Just hours after the The Sun revealed the bombshell’s identity, ITV confirmed the news.

Agonising pain

Ahead of entering the villa, Toni shared that she is battling an illness that leaves her in agonising pain.

She said: “I have ulcerative colitis. I had to go to hospital the same week as my senior prom.

“They told me, ‘You can’t go’ and then they said, ‘Surprise, you’re going to prom!’

“Nothing that exciting happens in Connecticut, so it was a big deal and a few articles were written about me.”

She added: “What I hope people see from me being on Love Island is that not all illnesses are visible.

“It doesn’t have to hold you back, you can travel etc… I live my life day-to-day like anyone else.”

In an interview with ITV, Toni said she is looking for “someone that can make me laugh”.

She added: “I’m super outgoing. And someone that’s quite active. Maybe one day we could start our own family together.”

I think all Americans love a good accent. British men are just more polite, with better manners

Antonia LaitesITV

When asked why she wants to date a British guy, Toni replied: “I’ve lived in three different states and I’m still single. It’s time to try something new!

“I have some British friends and they’re pretty charming. I think all Americans love a good accent.

“British men are just more polite, with better manners.”

When is Antonia Laites Joining Love Island 2025?

Toni is one of the contestants on the show’s 12th season, which premiers at 9pm on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Rather than being one of the initial batch of Islanders who enter the villa at the very start of the series, Toni will join the cast as the Love Island 2025‘s first bombshell.

But she won’t have to wait long — she will strut into the villa on the very first day to shake up the action from the off.

In the trailer for this year’s series, host Maya Jama said she wants the show to be packed with more ‘twists and turns’ .

She said: “This year Love Island needs something bigger, something bolder, I want ideas.

“This year I want more drama, more bombshells, more break-ups, more makeups.

“I want more twists, I want more twists than ever.”

Teasing bombshell Toni’s arrival in a video shared on social media, Maya played a voice note she received on her phone out loud.

“Hey Maya, I heard you want more twists,” Toni was heard saying.

“How about an American bombshell?” she continued.

“Get ready, I’m on my way!”
