‘I know the facts’ – Rasmus Hojlund breaks silence on Man Utd exit rumours as Champions League giants line up transfer

RASMUS HOJLUND has broken his silence on reports that suggest he will leave Manchester United.

Rumours began to circulate earlier this week that the Red Devils want to cut their losses on the 22-year-old this summer.

Hojlund is said to be on the radar of Inter Milan, who could be willing to splash £40million on him.

But the striker revealed he expects to remain at Old Trafford for next season.

Hojlund told Sport TV2 after Denmark beat Northern Ireland 2-1 in a friendly yesterday: “I have a contract until 2030, so I expect to play for Manchester United.

“I’m looking forward to going on a summer holiday and then I’m fully dedicated to the project that’s underway.

“I know I can’t get much out of reading things.

“I know what the facts are – and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United until 2030.

“I expect to play there, so I’m just getting ready for a summer holiday and then hopefully a good pre-season.”

Hojlund arrived from Atalanta two years ago in a deal worth an initial £64million, with £8million in potential add-ons.

But the Dane has struggled to live up to the price tag, scoring just ten goals in 52 appearances in the season just finished.

Despite his Man Utd difficulties, Hojlund is still rated highly in Italy and Napoli have also been linked with a shock swoop.

Ruben Amorim wants to add more attacking talent to his squad in addition to completing a £62.5m deal for Wolves star Matheus Cunha.

A reunion with Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres is on the cards for £60m.

Nepo baby with Hollywood A-list parents lands huge movie role – can you guess who she is?

A nepo baby with Hollywood A-list parents stunned on the red carpet this week – but can you guess who she is ?

The star is following in the footsteps of her famous actress mother[/caption]

Nico Parker wowed on the red carpet at the Train Your Dragon Immersive Experience screening at Frameless in London, this week.

The 20-year-old showed up and showed out in an elegant cream and pink dress with sheer laced sleeves and back which draped to the floor.

The British actress paired the look with some pointed nude heels and some simple jewellery.

If you haven’t already guessed Nico is the daughter to none other than actress Thandiwe Newton and famous director Ol Parker.

Thandie and Ol also share 24-year-old Ripley and their youngest son Booker.

Nico shot to stardom at just 14-years-old with her Hollywood debut of the remake of Disney’s classic live-action Dumbo.

She has gone on to have notable roles in HBO’s hit series The Last Of Us and Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.

Now, the actress is set to star in her biggest role to date as Astrid in the upcoming live-action remake of the 2010 film How To Train Your Dragon.

The film is set to release in the UK on June 9.

The story will follow Hiccup played by standout actor Mason Thames on his journey bonding with a dragon, Gerard Butler will also be starring in the film as his father Stoick.

This week, while promoting the film, Nico opened up about her famous mum and dad, on ITV’s Lorraine, and revealed how “supportive” they were about her career.

“My parents, the really lovely thing about both of them is that their advice is predominantly about, you know, how to be a good person, rather than, you know, how to behave on a film set,” she said.

“And I think that what’s lovely about that is that the two kind of bleed into one another, because I think it’s much more important to be a nice and normal person and be kind to others, rather than, you know, know what angle best suits you.

“So, the advice that I get from them feels very, very much more so about life and things like that.

“And the wonderful thing about that is that you can then take it on to work and wherever you go.”

Back in 2018, Thandiwe appeared on UK daytime show This Morning and spoke about how she manages her daughter entering the acting world.

She said: “Having a mother and father in the industry… she’s been on endless sets. It’s not that she takes it for granted, but it’s not a world that she feels she’s not entitled to be in.

“(Plus) she has her mum right there like a lioness checking that everything is looked after. You can’t stop the industry operating the way it has unless the truth comes out.

“I feel this great relief, excitement for the women coming into this industry now,” she added.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

There are also several sets of string lights on offer for less than £10.

A set of red, blue and purple Solar Hot Air Balloon String Lights would set you back just £8.99.

Meanwhile, a set of ten Party Lights cost just £4.99, making them perfect for a cocktail party or garden drinks.

The devices are battery powered and can be used indoors or outdoors.

They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including umbrellas, cocktail glasses, lemon and disco balls.

Or a set of Solar Bubble Strings can help you create ambiance in your garden for just £4.99.

The string is 4.9 metres long and includes 50 warm white or pastel LEDs.

The lights have static or twinkle functions and come with a special dusk sensor.

You can turn them on manually or use them on a six hour timer.

What other deals are on offer in the supermarkets?

Aldi has also brought back a “brilliant” garden middle-aisle bargain for just £10.

The Belavi Easter Island Head Planter will launch in stores on June 8.

The planter measures 21x23x31cm, makes for the perfect addition to anyone’s patio.

Meanwhile, Lidl is selling a selection of 14 pre-mixed cocktail cans with prices starting from just 89p.

They include a Bitterol Spritz, a take on the popular Aperol Spritz, Strawberry Daiquiri, Mojito and Pina Colada.

Plus, George at Asda is selling a stylish Stand Mixer that is perfect for cooking for the family.

The mixer costs just £13.75 – £236.24 less than the KitchenAid version.

Prince Harry’s latest stunt sends a terrible message – the King should sever him for good, says expert

PRINCE Harry has reportedly considered changing his surname to Spencer, stepping away from his family’s name, Mountbatten-Windsor.

While reports say the Duke of Sussex was counselled against the decision by Princess Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, royal experts have claimed that it “sends a message” to the royals.

Harry is said to have consulted Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer about the idea[/caption]

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, former Sun Royal Correspondent Charles Rae said: “I think as well that this is another Harry not knowing what he wants to do.

“It was only less than a month ago that he was pleading for a reconciliation with his father and his brother.

“And the next thing we hear, and I think the story was well sourced, he wants to change the name from Mountbatten-Windsor to Spencer.

“Well, that is sending a terrible message to the royal family that he doesn’t really want a reconciliation.

“He wants to be completely severed from the royal family.

“And I think the king should grant his wish.

“I think he should sever him from the royal family.”

The 40-year-old asked Princess Diana‘s brother – Earl Spencer – for advice during a visit to the UK, it is claimed.

But the Duke of Sussex was reportedly told the legal side of doing so would be too difficult.

A friend of Harry’s told the Mail: “They had a very amicable conversation and Spencer advised him against taking such a step.”

Royal correspondent Sarah Hewson added on Royal Exclusive: “I mean, is it to send a message to the royal family?

“Is it to say, ‘ok, fine, you don’t want to talk to us, then we’re not a part of this anymore’.

“Is it because he feels much closer to his Spencer relatives?

“They are the ones who turned up for the 10th anniversary Invictus service at St Paul’s, for example.

“There weren’t any members of the royal family there. Is it to honour his mother?

“Some more cynical commentators have suggested, well, it would be very good marketing in the United States to have the Spencer name and Lilibet would then be Lilibet Diana Spencer.”

SURNAME CONFUSION

Harry’s children go by Mountbatten-Windsor – which combines the Royal Family’s name of Windsor and the Duke of Edinburgh‘s surname.

However, Meghan Markle claimed in her Netflix show that her surname is now Sussex.

The couple became the Sussexes when the late Queen gave them the titles when they married in 2018.

Meghan said on Netflix that her surname is Sussex[/caption]

Harry previously had the title Prince Henry of Wales. But on his wedding day, he became The Duke of Sussex,  a title which had been vacant since 1843.

Meghan was seen to firmly correct Mindy Kaling after her friend called her Markle on her Netflix show.

In an episode on With Love, Meghan, the Duchess said: “It’s so funny you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle‘ – you know I’m Sussex now.

“You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children’.

“I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me but it just means so much to go ‘This is OUR family name. Our little family name.’ “

Mountbatten-Windsor is the surname of descendants of the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Relations have been tense between Prince Harry and his UK family in recent years[/caption]

Questions were raised when Harry and Meghan called their daughter a princess for the first time in 2023, when her christening was announced.

The children were then officially named as prince and princess on the Royal Family’s official website.

Archie and Lilibet are sixth and seventh in line to the throne.

Before their titles were listed as prince and princess on the royal website, they were down as Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.

They gained the titles when King Charles became the King, as they are grandchildren of the monarch.

Why did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle step back as senior working royals?

PRINCE Harry has always wanted out of the Royal Family and the repercussions will be felt for years, an expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex has lived in California with his wife Meghan Markle since 2020 after they dramatically quit their jobs as working royals and moved across the pond.

Katie Nicholl, who is Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent, told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show that Megxit did not come as a surprise to her.

Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, the commentator explained: “Anyone who knows Harry is aware he’s always wanted a way out of the Royal Family.

“He’s said multiple times on the record that he wished he’d never been born a prince.

“I think he really is living the life he wants to now. It’s very, very sad that it’s played out the way it has.”

In a statement made on the Sussexes’ Instagram account as they stepped back in 2020, the pair wrote: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.

“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.

“It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.

“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”

EastEnders actress Alice Haig reveals exactly what the old Vicki Fowler star said to her after she took over her role

EASTENDERS actress Alice Haig revealed exactly what her predecessor as Vicki Fowler said to her after taking on the role.

Alice, 40, assumed the role of returning character Vicki earlier this year.

Previous Vicki actress Scarlett Alice Johnson reached out to Alice[/caption]

She took over from previous star Scarlett Alice Johnson, who played the part over 20 years ago.

Speaking to The Sun at the British Soap Awards, Alice confirmed her predecessor had reached out.

She told us: “Scarlett sent me a beautiful email wishing me luck and being incredibly kind.

“It was a lovely thing to get. She said it’s great fun playing Vicki Fowler and I couldn’t agree more.”

The Sun previously told how Scarlett turned down the chance to reprise her role as Vicki.

Bosses of EastEnders had hoped to win Scarlett back after her portrayal of Vicki developed a cult following online – two decades after her last appearance.

The actress originally took on the role in 2003 but left once again just a little over a year later and hasn’t been seen since.

A spokesperson for Scarlett told The Sun: “Scarlett was approached, and was flattered to be asked to return, but the timing wasn’t right for her to step back into the role.

“She wishes Alice Haig and the show all the very best”.

Meanwhile, Alice also told us at the Soap Awards: “In all honesty, I think in soap world we suspend our disbelief. We’re changing actors.

“Once you’re bedded in for a bit, you are the character and you do what you do.

“I think what I’m really interested in is trying to find flavours of Michelle – her mum.

“As opposed to trying to copy Scarlett, who was fantastic and her own person.

“It’s much better to be who you are and to try and play it as truthfully as you can, for you.”

Soap characters who've been recast

Soap operas are staple viewing for many people, but even some of the most famous characters have been played by different actors. Here are some examples from over the years.

Coronation Street

  • Tracy Barlow: Kate Ford took on the role of Corrie legend Tracy Barlow in 2002. Before Kate, three other actresses had played Tracy – most notably Dawn Acton from 1988 to 1999.
  • Nick Tilsley: Ben Price has been playing Gail’s oldest child in 2009, but the former Footballers’ Wives star is the third actor to take on the part.
  • Sarah Platt: Although Tina O’Brien debuted as Sarah Platt in 1999, she is the third actress who has played the iconic role of Sarah Platt.
  • David Platt: Completing the line-up of Gail’s children, David was initially played by Thomas Ormson for a decade before Jack P. Shepherd took over.
  • Daniel Osbourne: For almost a decade, the role of Ken Barlow’s son Daniel has been portrayed by actor Rob Mallard. Before Rob joined, two other actors had previously played Daniel.
  • Bethany Platt: Fans know Lucy Fallon as Bethany nowadays but before her, three other actresses had stepped into the character’s shoes.
  • Kirk Sutherland: Before Andy Whyment took on the role of Kirk, he played by an uncredited actor in his very first appearance.
  • Todd Grimshaw: Gareth Pierce stepped into the role of Todd back in 2020, becoming the second performer to play this part.
  • Summer Spellman: Harriet Bibby became the second actress to play Summer, taking over the role from Matilda Freeman in 2020.
  • Ryan Connor: Ryan Prescott currently plays the long-running character, but Ben Thompson and Sol Heras had earlier portrayed the role.

EastEnders

  • Martin Fowler: Although Martin was the first baby born on-screen in EastEnders, he hasn’t always been played by the same person. His current portrayer, James Bye, is the third actor to star as the character.
  • Peter Beale: Seven actors have portrayed Ian Beale’s elder son, with the current actor, Thomas Law, in his second stint as the character.
  • Ben Mitchell: Ben has been played by a total of six actors – with Max Bowden bowing out of the role in March 2024.
  • Bobby Beale: Before Clay Milner Russell, Ian’s younger son had been played by four other actors.
  • Freddie Slater: Bobby’s best mate, Freddie Slater, had been previously played by twins Alex and Tom Kilby before Bobby Brazier took over in 2022.
  • Chelsea Fox: Former Coronation Street actress Zaraah Abrahams took over the role of Chelsea in 2020. The character had been first played by Tiana Benjamin from 2006 to 2010.
  • Lauren Branning: Jacqueline Jossa took on the role of Lauren in 2010, succeeding Madeline Duggan who’d played her from 2006 to 2010.
  • Johnny Carter: Johnny has been played by three actors since debuting in 2013 – most recently, Charlie Suff has taken on the role.

Acting appears to run in Alice’s family, as the new star has a famous film star dad.

Upon Vicki’s return to Albert Square, she was joined by new partner Ross and his teenage son Joel.

Viewers discovered she had broken up with long-term love Spencer Moon off-screen.

EastEnders airs on BBC One and iPlayer.

Boxer Ryosuke Nishida pulled out of title fight after suffering grotesquely swollen eye against Junto Nakatani

But after just six rounds, the thudding left hands and uppercuts from Nakatani proved too much for Nishida.

Halfway through the bout, Nishida’s eye was swollen shut to leave the doctor with no choice but to pull him out.

Three-weight champ Nakatani said: “Ever since I was at flyweight, I wanted to unify the titles.

“Finally at bantamweight, I received my first opportunity and I am very happy with the result.”

Japan’s unified super-bantamweight king Naoya Inoue was ringside to watch Nakatani’s dominance.

And a blockbuster between the country’s two biggest stars is now being touted.

Nakatani said: “I am coming, so please stick around for me.”

Inoue’s promoter Bob Arum previously stated the fight – eyed for May 2026 – could be as big as Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.

Arum said: “A lot of people say Nakatani is the guy that could beat Inoue. That’s why it’s such a big fight. That’s a real, real fight.

“People who really know and follow those lower weight divisions, they think that’s as interesting a fight, if not more so, than Canelo and Crawford.

“And it’ll be the biggest fight ever in the history of Japan.”

I’m a mum-of-2 and was a broke teaching assistant on £840 a month – now I’ve made £46k doing a side hustle anyone can do

A SAVVY mother has shared how she went from being a broke teaching assistant to earning almost £50,000 in less than a year.

Shannon Wadey, a mum-of-two from the UK, explained that with her side hustle, she doesn’t need to leave the house.

A mother has opened up on how she was able to turn her life around – from a broke teaching assistant to earning over £46,000 in just a few months

Now, Shannon Wadey is a stay-at-home mum and doesn’t have to leave her home to rake in the cash
Shannon Wadey

Now, Shannon can earn four figures a week doing a side hustle that almost anyone can do.

So if your 9 to 5 paycheck isn’t cutting the mustard and you’re constantly running out of cash, then you’ve come to the right place and will need to listen up.

Eager to inform others about how she transformed her life, Shannon explained: “Here’s how I went from being a broke teaching assistant to making over £46,000 from my phone.

“I used to be an SEN teaching assistant in a secondary school and my pay was £840 a month.

“Now as a mum, that didn’t stretch very far and it also didn’t justify missing out on my daughter five days a week to be at work.

“So, I jumped online and I started searching for ways that I could make money – side hustles, extra income, anything. I was willing to try anything.

“And I did. I tried quite a few of them and nothing worked.”

Shannon explained that she tried filling out surveys, selling stuff on Vinted, but with no success.

However, she then found a side hustle – creating and selling digital products – that worked for her, as she acknowledged: “That said side hustle has now made me over £46,000 from my phone in less than a year.

“I’m now a stay-at-home mum full time and I do this side hustle completely from my phone around my two children.

“I’m my own boss. I don’t answer to anyone, I don’t have to ask for time off and I make four figures a week from my phone.

“This is a side hustle pretty much anyone can do. If you have a phone, you have a bit of free time each day, you have some determination and you wanna make a bit of extra income each month, then it’s for you.

Do I need to pay tax on my side hustle income?

MANY people feeling strapped for cash are boosting their bank balance with a side hustle.

The good news is, there are plenty of simple ways to earn some additional income – but you need to know the rules.

When you’re employed the company you work for takes the tax from your earnings and pays HMRC so you don’t have to.

But anyone earning extra cash, for example from selling things online or dog walking, may have to do it themselves.

Stephen Moor, head of employment at law firm Ashfords, said: “Caution should be taken if you’re earning an additional income, as this is likely to be taxable.

“The side hustle could be treated as taxable trading income, which can include providing services or selling products.”

You can make a gross income of up to £1,000 a year tax-free via the trading allowance, but over this and you’ll usually need to pay tax.

Stephen added: “You need to register for a self-assessment at HMRC to ensure you are paying the correct amount of tax.

“The applicable tax bands and the amount of tax you need to pay will depend on your income.”

If you fail to file a tax return you could end up with a surprise bill from HMRC later on asking you to pay the tax you owe – plus extra fees on top.

“I sell digital products online and I use my social media platforms to promote them.

“You can literally open up Canva and create your own digital product, stick it on a Stan Store, promote it online and make an extra income a month.”

A digital product is any product that is created, distributed, and consumed in an electronic format.

Digital products refer to digital files that buyers can purchase and download instantly, such as printable art, digital planners, e-books, stock photos, and more.

I’ve made almost £50,000 in less than a year from my phone

Shannon Wadey

Selling digital products involves offering goods that exist in a digital format, which are typically delivered to customers via download or email.

Unlike physical products, digital products don’t require physical inventory and can be sold repeatedly without needing to replenish stock.

Selling digital products offers several advantages, including low overhead costs as a result of no inventory or shipping fees, high profit margins, and the potential for passive income since they can be created once and sold numerous times.

Types of digital products

  1. Online courses
  2. Ebooks
  3. Licensed digital content
  4. Premium content libraries
  5. Digital templates and tools
  6. Product photography
  7. Music, art, and entertainment
  8. Digital services
  9. Printable digital products
  10. Digital memberships

Opening up in further detail about her side hustle success, Shannon told Fabulous: “I started this almost a year ago with absolutely no experience and no clue what I was doing after speaking to another lady on social media who was doing this and earning thousands.

“I’m a mum of two girls and I didn’t want to put my daughter in nursery and miss out on valuable time with her to go to work. So I decided to give it a go with a goal of making £500 a month.

“I never in a million years expected to have achieved what I have now.

I’m no longer consumed by the overwhelming stress of my financial situation

Shannon Wadey

“I’ve made almost £50,000 in less than a year from my phone, I became a Stan Store Ambassador, I’ve grown my social media page to over 12,000 followers from scratch and had multiple viral videos.”

Not only has Shannon been able to cash in, but she’s even teaching others how to do the same too on her TikTok account, where she posts under the username @shannonsdigital.

She continued: “I’ve mentored over 100 people who have started their online journeys with me and helped them get set up and earning online!

“Most importantly, I get to enjoy watching my children grow up everyday.

“I’m no longer consumed by the overwhelming stress of my financial situation, I’m able to treat my children without feeling guilty, I’m able to do a food shop without panicking and I get to do it all on my own terms, from my phone in the comfort of my own home or out and about wherever I go!

“This all came from one decision to give something new a try because I knew I didn’t want to carry on living the life I was!”

Huge skip has been left abandoned on my driveway for WEEKS – now I’m stuck in row to remove it… it’s an absolute joke

A HOMEOWNER is considering taking legal action to try to get a skip shifted off his drive.

Peter Critchley paid £200 to hire the skip from Staffordshire Waste Recycling Centre, in Longport, “for a day”, he says.

A month after the skip was supposed to be shifted, it’s still there[/caption]

But more than month later it remains stuck on his Norton driveway.

It comes as Staffordshire Waste Recycling Centre has had its general waste permit suspended by the Environment Agency since April.

Peter, 42, StokeonTrentLive: “We were just having a good clear out. We were getting some stuff out of our old wardrobes and having a good spring clean.

“We found we actually had quite a bit to get rid of so we hired a skip for the weekend.

“We literally only needed it for the day because everything was already in the back garden, ready to go.

“I rang them to pick it up and they said ‘Yeah no problem’.

“It didn’t happen that day, but I thought, ‘Oh fair enough, the weekend’s coming up. It’ll be Monday or Tuesday’.

Peter struggles to walk due to a neurological disorder. He says the situation has taken a physical and financial toll on his everyday life.

The Sun has approached Staffordshire Waste Recycling Centre for comment.
