‘Not good enough’ – Darts star Gerwyn Price announces plan for retirement as he faces ‘more and more’ demands on tour

GERWYN PRICE claims he has plenty left in the tank – but won’t be content until he’s world champion again.

The 40-year-old won the PDC’s biggest prize back in 2021.

The 2021 world champion is desperate to win a second title[/caption]

Price proved himself king of the oche as he downed rival Gary Anderson 7-3 four years ago.

But he hasn’t made it past the quarter-finals at Ally Pally since.

Gezzy was KO’d in the final four of the Nordic Darts Masters by Rob Cross on Saturday.

It followed a successful Premier League campaign for the Welshman, reaching the finals at London’s O2.

Price claims he is more than happy to keep competing for the next decade at least.

And he’s made sure to put to bed any lingering questions of retirement.

Price told talkSPORT: “I’m sticking around for the next 10 years.

“I mean, one World Championship, it’s not good enough.”

Price turned pro in 2012 after picking darts over rugby.

He’s been the winner of seven major PDC titles – but admits as time goes on, he may be forced to pick and choose events.

The Iceman continued: “I would never give up totally.

“But the Pro Tours and Europeans, depending on how many it’s going to be at that time, because it’s getting more and more every year, but I’ll stop doing those.

“I would never give my Tour Card up. I’d still do events and if they invite me to the Premier League and World Series, I’ll still do them.

“But none of the lower events and just stop the travelling.”

Darts’ hectic pro schedule has become a major talking point among the sport’s elite.

Nathan Aspinall recently branded the calendar “absolutely obscene”.

The Asp fumed: “For us to take a weekend off, I have to pull out events.

“So I’m losing ranking money because I just need a few days off.

“And I’ve done that over the last couple of weeks because I was in a tight position in the Premier League, I really wanted to make the playoffs.”

I transformed my garden patio into summer haven for less than £100 with cheap B&M buys including gadget to keep bugs out

A SUPER saver decorated her patio for an alfresco lunch gathering for £100 from B&M.

From dinner plates to bug-repelling candles, Aimee shared her impressive haul with her 29.6k Instagram followers.

The lifestyle influencer, who lives in Wiltshire with her partner Sean, said she wanted to create the perfect space for entertaining guests.

Sharing a video of her summery accessories on @thecountryreno, she wrote: “This year is the year of our garden, after 18 months living here we are now ready to start making her ready for guests and entertaining, BBQs and sundowners.

Our table was a Facebook marketplace bargain last year for £100 too, and now I’m headed to B&M with £100 to see if I could make something beautiful.

She bagged herself an adorable lemon jug for just £3 after it was on sale from £5 and pretty farmhouse-style plant pots from £3.

“£100 feels like a lot of money but these days would barely get you a seat cushion in some shops but I knew that B&M would have some bargains and they did not disappoint!!

“I was surprised to see so many things on offer too – especially that lemon jug.”

To keep pesky insects away for those late-night tipples, she found citronella torches on bamboo spikes to give a feeling of being on a tropical island.

The candle and holders are just £4.

Aimee also jumped on the faux flower trend, which she joked meant she couldn’t kill them.

They vary in price, but range from £2 to £8.

She found hanging baskets filled with colourful and realistic plastic flowers, which she added to an outhouse wall.

Followers flocked to praise her haul, with one writing: “Such good finds! That lemon jug!

“You did a brilliant job finding this all and styling it beautifully together.”

“Great bargains and looks lovely,” echoed a second.

“Impressive job the wall hanging baskets look lovely in that position too x” said a third.

Remember that some products are limited to selected stores, so always check with your local shop before wasting a trip.

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:

  • Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
  • Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
  • You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
  • Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
  • If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
  • You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

If, like Aimee, you want to transform your garden space as the weather warms up, B&M has you covered.

One product guaranteed to make your backyard the envy of your neighbours is the Stained Glass Hanging Decoration.

The purse-friendly buy comes in a wide variety of colours and patterns from stunning floral designs to captivating mandala patterns.

Priced at just £4 each, these beautiful hanging decorations will revamp your garden, without you having to break the bank.

Plus, when the sunlight catches on the stained glass, it will create a spectacular glow which will transform your garden into a paradise.

B&M said: “This unique Stained Glass Hanging Decoration will add a touch of colour and beauty to your garden.

“Perfect for hanging in your garden and adding to your outdoor decor.”

Another product guaranteed to give your garden a glow-up, is the Flower Solar Light.

The bargain buy comes in a variety of different colours, including yellow and pink, so is guaranteed to inject your garden with a stunning splash of colour.

It features an adorable flower design, with a sweet bee perched on top of it, which is bound to make you smile every time you sit in the garden.

Boxer Keyshawn Davis ‘escorted out by police after backstage brawl caught on camera with his brother’s opponent’

BOXER Keyshawn Davis was reportedly escorted out by police after a backstage brawl with his brother’s opponent.

Keyshawn was due to headline a homecoming show in Norfolk, Virginia with his brothers Keon and Kelvin on the undercard.

But the 2020 Olympic silver medalist missed weight by 4.3lb and was stripped of his WBO lightweight world title.

And opponent Edwin De Los Santos later pulled out of fighting Keyshawn at a revised weight – but was still paid his full purse.

The show still went on and Keon scored a knockout win but Kelvin was stunned on points by Nahir Albright.

And later in the night, ESPN footage captured the moment Keyshawn was involved in a backstage brawl with Albright.

In an interview with ESPN, Albright claimed he was “jumped” by Keyshawn and Keon.

He said: “They started walking up to me all tough, putting his head against mine, and then grabbed me.

“Then I was about to swing, but my team and everybody, they grabbed Keyshawn and everything, and it was crazy.”

Albright also alleged that Keyshawn headbutted him and added he is contemplating whether to take legal action.

The Davis brothers declined to comment when asked by ESPN.

Keyshawn beat Albright by decision in 2023 – but the win was overturned to a no-contest when he tested positive for marijuana.

Now Albright says there is unfinished business between the two that he plans to settle one way or another.

He said: “It’s definitely unfortunate, but it added fuel to the flame. Keyshawn, you gotta run it back with me – in the ring, not outside of the ring.”

How Sydney Sweeney’s sexy new single life will ‘DOUBLE her £40m fortune’ with her raciest ever stunts

AS an actress, she’s got Hollywood at her feet – with bigwig directors lining up to work with her, and a slew of movies in the pipeline.

But Sydney Sweeney isn’t just resting on her laurels on set.

Sydney Sweeney has cemented herself as a Hollywood sex symbol[/caption]

She split from her fiancé Jonathan Davino in February[/caption]

Since then, she’s leaned into her pin-up status – even releasing a soap made from her bathwater for ‘dirty little boys’[/caption]

Instead, the very savvy star is cashing in on the side with enough money-making brand deals to fund a small nation, and she’s leaving no doubt as to what those deals all hinge upon: her irresistible sex appeal.

After all, while Hollywood is built on beauty, there are few stars who can fully embody that bombshell energy of yesteryear – in the guise of Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren – and become a brand unto themselves in the process.

Yet Sydney manages to toe that line – and it’s no coincidence that she’s fully embraced her sexiest, and most marketable, self yet in the wake of her relationship ending earlier this year.

According to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, the 27-year-old knows what her selling power is. And with her single status now confirmed to the world, she’s leaning into that bachelorette image.

Hollywood bombshell

“She’s a modern-day sex symbol – and it feels like brands are really buying into her,” Nick tells us.

“They want to be associated with her, and they love the fact that she’s single because it means she’s potentially obtainable to guys.

“Meanwhile, women feel like she’s more relatable because of the likely heartbreak she’s had, so they want to support her too.

“There’s lots of opportunities in this from a branding point of view – and with 25m Instagram followers, she’s got a lot of influence!”

Last week, the Euphoria star confirmed reports that had been circulating since February, that, after seven years, she’d broken up with fiancé Jonathan Davino.

Speaking to The Sunday Times Style magazine, she said she was now single, adding, “I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.”

She’s also been posting some sexy shots on Instagram in the wake of her split

And one thing she’s seemingly learnt about herself is that she’s a highly valuable commodity, who can command big figures from companies begging her to promote them.

Indeed, over the past few months – and coinciding with her break-up – Sydney has aligned herself with more brands than ever, fronting their ad campaigns and posting branded content to her social media.

Big brand deals

Some of her recent brand partnerships include the likes of MiuMiu, HEYDUDE shoes, Armani makeup, Samsung, Laneige, Kérastase, Ford and Dickies.

Meanwhile, her recent – very tongue in cheek – campaign for Dr Squatch, which saw her release a range of soap made out of her own bathwater, proves the fact that she knows her sexy image sells.

Joking that the idea was born from “dirty little boys” who “wouldn’t stop asking” for her used bathwater, Sydney cheekily posed for the men’s soap company in a bathtub.

Would she have done so willingly if she were still engaged? Possibly.

But she couldn’t fully represent that attainable fantasy to her mostly male market with a ring on her finger.

She owns herself and she owns the way she looks

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede

“When she was still in her relationship, it didn’t really feel like she was being so overtly sexual with her social posts, and she wasn’t doing as many brand collaborations,” says Nick.

“But now that she’s single again, and she’s not getting married, it feels like she’s come out of that spell. Now, she’s out there, and she’s owning it.

“I think that’s what’s great about her – she owns herself and she owns the way she looks.

“She’s a bit like Sabrina Carpenter – they both own their sexuality and it’s up to them what they push and what they don’t push.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Sydney has leaned into her desirability to earn the big bucks.

In 2023, she starred in the romcom Anyone But You – but it was the press tour to promote the movie that had fans running to the cinemas, as they couldn’t get enough of Sydney’s “are they – aren’t they” chemistry with co-star Glen Powell.

The pair have both been open about how they harnessed the rumours surrounding their relationship to feed fans’ frenzy, and ultimately guarantee box office success.

To that end, they happily flirted for the cameras and cosied up together on red carpets – despite the fact that Sydney was still coupled up with Jonathan at the time.

Clearly, the actress isn’t afraid to ham it up for the cameras – and also blur the lines between film and reality.

As Nick tells us, she’s “not pretentious nor prissy” when it comes to press and publicity, and she enthusiastically embraces her image as a pin-up.

She even fashioned a T-shirt last year that read: “Sorry for having great t**s and correct opinions” across her chest – in response to some complaints about her sexualised image.

What’s important to note is that – while bombshells of the past like Marilyn Monroe were beholden to others, including film studios and directors – Sydney is fully in control of her image.

On camera, she hasn’t shied away from her sexy looks in the past – especially with envelope pushing roles in Euphoria and the erotic thriller The Voyeurs.

But, given that – up until recently – she was engaged in real life, it was confined to make believe.

Now, her sexy image seems more real than ever, and brands are clearly buying into the narrative… which is, ultimately, Sydney’s bottom line.

Money minded

As the actress herself has explained, she’s driven to make a lot of money, which comes from her parents’ financial struggles during childhood

When she was 16, her parents, Lisa and Steven, had to sell their home in Washington, forcing the family (she has one younger brother, Trent) to live in one bedroom together in a Holiday Inn hotel for eight and a half months.

Three years later, her parents filed for bankruptcy

Since then, she’s been determined to make a better life – both for herself and her parents – and has grafted hard to up her earning potential.

Clearly, her efforts have paid off. While Sydney earned $2m to star in Anyone But You, she’s since upped her film fee to around $7.5m – earning her a reported net worth today of approximately $40m.

And she spends it well, admitting she’s “obsessed with Zillow” (America’s version of Rightmove), and has invested in a highly lucrative property portfolio that includes homes in Bel Air, Los Angeles, Florida Keys, and several more properties in the Pacific Northwest.

She also has a vintage car collection – which she last added to with a $68,500 Fiat Jolly.

Meanwhile, the savvy star has also cemented herself behind the camera in Hollywood, producing Anyone But You and her recent film Immaculate.

She’s also producing her two upcoming movies – The Housemaid, and an untitled biopic about the boxer Christy Martin.

However, as she herself has previously said, the acting and producing gigs only go so far – especially in today’s economy.

“They don’t pay actors like they used to,” she said in 2022. “And with streamers, you no longer get residuals”.

On brand

That’s where the brand deals come in. According to Nick, Sydney’s massive following – which eclipses most actresses working today – guarantees her a sizeable income from sponsored content.

That means that, the way things are going, she could easily double her fortune in no time.

“She could absolutely double it – I think she could be making hundreds of thousands per post,” he explains. “She’s wearing clothes from the likes of Miu Miu and jewellery from De Beers – ultra fabulous stuff.

“And she recently did a deal with Samsung Galaxy – deals like that can bring in six figures, definitely.

“With 25m followers, she’s up there with the Kardashians. Sydney’s really captured the zeitgeist.”

As for where she goes from here, the sky’s the limit for the star – who’s somehow achieved the impossible: straddling the worlds of old Hollywood and new-age social media.

Some stars in the past have tried and failed to be both commercial and respected in acting circles, but Sydney’s somehow struck that balance.

If she were a mediocre actress, she couldn’t have done this

Nick Ede

According to Nick, her brand comes down to some excellent strategising and talent management.

“If she were a mediocre actress, she couldn’t have done this,” he says. “Look at Megan Fox, who kind of ruined her career because her sexuality came before her acting.

“Sydney’s different – she’s got really great range, and also has that respect of Hollywood, which allows her to do these brand deals.

“She’s very clever – and the team behind her must be really clever as well. Everyone understands what she’s doing.

“She’s peppering the deals with movies and she’s not over-saturating in either arena – that means we’ll keep buying into her.”

As for where she goes from here, it seems the sky’s the limit for Hollywood’s ultimate It Girl.

She’ll soon be starring as boxer Christy – in a film that’s already being pegged for Oscar success.

Meanwhile, in the meantime, she’s proving she’s got enough self-awareness – and cheekiness – to cash in on her sex appeal.

It seems that, as long as people are happy to buy soap made of her bathwater, she’ll continue to sell it.

And – in the process – Sydney’s cleaning up very nicely indeed.

Justin Bieber sparks concern with series of worrying selfies as he refers to drugs in shock post

JUSTIN Bieber has left fans worried after sharing a string of intense new selfies and rambling messages, during which he dropped a reference to the hallucinogenic drug ketamine.

On Saturday, the Lonely singer, 31, posted a flurry of posts to his Instagram.

The first carousel Justin could be seen lounging on a couch, it then switched to moody black and-white close-ups including a screenshot that appeared to show him on FaceTime with wife Hailey Bieber, 28.

Alongside these shots, Justin added the captions: “IM ACCEPTING THAT GOD FORGIVES ME THIS MORNING.

“SO CAN I CAN FORGIVE MYSELF AND OTHERS TODAY. JOIN ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE,” followed by a thumbs-up emoji.

In the second set, Justin’s message took a more confrontational tone, with the father-of-one writing: “U could point at my flaws. Or u could recognize ur own lil b***h.”

Stunned fans raced to share their concern, with one person commenting, “No way this is Justin,” accompanied by sobbing emojis.

Another user joked: “HAILEYYY HE GOT HIS PHONE AGAIN.” While someone else insisted: “I strongly believe that Justin has NO social media team.”

Other worried followers chimed in, saying it was “like watching a train wreck and not being able to stop it.”

However, not all comments were panicked, with some gushing they loved his approach.

One fan wrote: “This photos are like the ones you send to your friends. I love it,” and another person added, “If they can’t love you with your flaws then they don’t deserve you when you’re flawless,” followed by a red heart emoji.

Things escalated further when Bieber took to his Instagram Stories, posting even more close-up shots.

One slide featured a screenshot from an AI chat interface asking: “Has ketamine been used to control people’s emotions.”

The AI reportedly answered: “There is clear evidence that ketamine has been misused in certain law enforcement scenarios, particularly in ways that amount to chemical restraint or social control…

“With disproportionate effects on Black individuals. This is a serious public health, legal and racial justice issue.”

In another slide, Justin superimposed text over a photo of himself looking defeated: “This is how I feel after people keep telling me theres more work to do after the ive given everything I have to give.”

He followed up with: “I dont think any of us can handle hearing ‘You just gotta try a little harder and you will be like me.’ It’s not true.

“I listened to those fools who told me to work harder. And there’s no end to trying to earn ur spot in this life because I tried. U have everything u need right now.”

On another snap, he wrote: “We wanna make our life about work so bad. But this life is about God. Loving us so we can love eachother. Quit making ur life about work smh. God will always inspire u to wait to work hard.

“U think if you don’t tell people to work hard that they won’t. Stop playing God please.”

Bieber went on: “Conditioning. Will make u feel i didn’t know what the f*** u knew.”

This cryptic post was followed by another black-and-white selfie captioned: “But I f***in always knew in my gut Jesus was always the answer to pain we are all facing.

“People still keep making me think If I work hard on myself I’ll be better like them. But the harder I work on myself the more I think about myself. I though the point was to think about one another?”

He finished with: “The only thing that helps me to think about others to let go not try harder. Join me in letting go of not trying harder.”

This follows mounting worry over Justin’s mental health in recent weeks.

Earlier, he posted a cryptic rant that many believe was aimed at Hailey. He wrote: “Telling other humans they deserve something is like raising someone else’s kids. Who are you to tell someone what someone should or shouldn’t have?”

He continued: “That’s not your place. God decides what we deserve.”

Many speculated he was responding to online criticism directed at his wife, who had been told she “deserves better.”

It comes after Justin shared a since-deleted social-media post on Mother’s Day, which was Hailey’s first as Jack’s mom, where he said “Mother’s Day sucks a*.”*

He followed that up with another deleted post during Hailey’s Vogue achievement, admitting he previously told her she would “never” land a cover.

Fans were incensed by his comments. One user blasted, “Justin. You told Hailey she couldn’t be on a cover of Vogue, isn’t that telling her she can’t have something?”

Another person added: “Take a break from social media, Justin.” While someone else pleaded, “God told me you need a social media break.”

It comes amid growing speculation over the couple’s relationship.

Earlier this month, Hailey’s skincare line, Rhode, sold in a reported $1 billion acquisition, leading many to joke she should leave Justin now that she’s independently successful.

The couple have been married for nearly seven years after getting married in a lavish ceremony in 2018. Their first child, Jack, was born in August 2024.

Best time to shop at retailers like B&M and Poundland to save money and find the best bargains

KNOWING when to visit your favourite shop could be the key to saving money.

From when yellow stickers are placed on items to reduce prices, to the best day of the week for new products – timing is everything when it comes to shopping on the high street and supermarkets.

Illustration of a clock surrounded by various store logos, including Home Bargains, B&M, Boots, Aldi, Superdrug, and Poundland.
We spoke to a deals expert who shared the best time to shop at your favourite store

The Sun spoke to Tom Church, co-founder of discount code website Latestdeals.co.uk who shared the best time to visit shops.

B&M

The best time to head to the budget store is Wednesday morning, according to Tom.

He said: “This is when most of the new reductions are dropped.”

To increase your chances of spotting a deal, it also recommended that shoppers download the B&M Scanner App.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Often, products will be marked down in the system, but the staff haven’t had the chance to change display prices.

Tom added: “It’s always worth scanning items to check if they’re cheaper than they seem. Products can scan for as little as 10p.”

Home Bargains

If you are planning a trip to Home Bargain’s then it is best to head their first thing in the morning to grab the best deals.

That is because most the larger Home Bargains stores get deliveries at around 7:30am everyday.

Tom said to make sure you take a good look around as you enter the store.

He explained: “Often, Home Bargains keeps the best deals at the front to lure you in. You don’t want to walk straight past them on the way in!.”

Boots

The high street chemist can be a great place to bag a bargain on pricey makeup and skin care.

Singing up for its Advantage Card loyalty scheme can help you earn points on their purchases.

These can then be redeemed for money off future purchases.

Shoppers collect three points for every £1 they spend.

Tom said the best time to shop at Boots is during one of their Points Events.

These events allow shoppers to even triple points on your entire shop, or selected products and ranges.

So for example, if you spend a set amount like £50 you get 1,000 extra points, which is worth £10.

Tom said it is also worth seeing if you can stack any offers.

He explained: “For example, if something is on a 3 for 2 offer, and then you can get double points on top.”

Superdrug

Superdrug has frequent offers and shopping incentives.

So, Tom said the best time to shop depends on “what you’re buying, and timing your shop to coincide with a relevant offer”.

The store regularly has 3 for 2 offers on beauty products, so if you’re restocking your makeup bag, it may be better to hold off until that offer comes back around.

If you are planning a trip to one of it’s store you can check what offers are running ahead of time on the Superdrug website.

Tom said you can also get bargains if you’re a Health & Beautycard member, which is free to sign up for.

Customers earn one point for every £1 you spend.

You can spend your points in multiples of 100. This means that you can chose to use:

  • 100 points = £1
  • 200 points = £2
  • 300 points = £3 and so on

ALDI

The German discounter is known for it’s middle aisle Special Buys, selling everything from air fryers to dupes for Dyson hairstylers.

The deals drop on Thursdays and Sundays, so going first thing on those days is your best bet.

But if you are on the hunt for marked down food, it’s best to head in first thing in the morning.

That’s because Aldi slashes the price of food and other items first thing in the morning rather than later in the day like its competitors

WHAT TIME OF DAY?

The store also has red stickers to show an item has been reduced, unlike the yellow ones you may see in Tesco or M&S.

Tom said: “If you get there early, you have a better chance of bagging them. Just look out for red stickers.”

POUNDLAND

The bargain store can be a great place to pick up cheap sweets and even clothes.

Tom said the best time to shop at the high street store is the morning.

He said: “Stock is replenished either at night, or first thing, so you should have a better chance of finding what you want.”

But if you are planning a trip to one of it stores, you should be aware the brand has made a major change to its loyalty scheme.

The discount store has scrapped its exclusive lower prices for Poundland Perk members, which had worked similarly to Tesco’s Clubcard offers.

Poundland told The Sun the loyalty scheme shake-up is aimed at lowering prices on the shelves for all customers without the “hassle” of looking for a voucher in the shop’s app.

Customers can still collect points on their shops and there will be weekly competitions to win points and prizes.

Poundland shoppers get Perk Points when they spend money at the retailer and these can be turned into vouchers when they’ve accumulated at least 5,000 points.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

Lewis Capaldi set to make huge comeback after Glastonbury Festival – two years after breaking down on stage

LEWIS Capaldi is reportedly set for a triumphant comeback to the Glastonbury stage two years after struggling to perform.

The 28-year-old Scottish star is believed to be taking the ‘Secret Set’ slot on Friday night of the music festival, following Canadian legend Alanis Morrisette.

His return, to the Pyramid Stage, as reported by Daily Mail, will come two years after he suffered an attack of Tourette’s Syndrome on stage, rendering him unable to speak or sing.

In one of the most notable moments in the festival’s history, the crowd performed his hit Someone You Loved completely in his place, prompting the star to become emotional at the show of unity.

As he finished his set, performing Hold Me While You Wait, he told the crowd: “Glastonbury, I’m really sorry. I’m a bit annoyed with myself.”

But the crowd replied by cheering him on by chanting “Oh Lewis Capaldi”.

Shortly after the set, Lewis said: “I wanted to come back and to do Glastonbury because it is so incredible, so I just wanted to thank you all for coming out and watching us.

“I was s**t-scared but you really made me feel at ease.”

Referring to Glasto organiser Emily Eavis, he continued: “I am really sorry and I hope Eavis will have me back on because this has been a f*****g s**t show.

“I feel like I will be taking another wee break over the next couple of weeks so you probably won’t see much of me for the rest of the year.”

Since then Lewis, who took a three week mental health break prior to the event, said he would be taking an extended period of time off “to spend more time getting my mental and physical health in order”

He then disappeared from the spotlight completely in order to adjust to the impact Tourettes has on his life and get it under control.

“Playing for you every night is all I’ve ever dreamed of, so this has been the most difficult decision of my life,” he said at the time.

“I’ll be back as soon as I possibly can.”

Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological condition that makes someone make involuntary ‘tics’ including rapid movements and noises, at times making them struggle to speak.

Lewis tracked his diagnosis in a Netflix documentary, How I’m Feeling Now, showing how much it affects his life on a day-to-day basis.

The film was released shortly before his Glasto appearance.

In October last year, Lewis was overheard discussing new music and a potential new album down the pub with mates, sparking hope he was ready to perform again.

In May this year, Lewis made his return to the stage alongside Tom Walker for a guest spot at a show for mental health CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) at Assembly Halls in Edinburgh.

It was his first performance since the 2023 Glastonbury performance, with fans saying they were “near tears” seeing him back on stage.
