Paddy McGuinness reveals his ‘crush’ on married TV star just hours after ex Christine’s bond with Dan Osborne emerged

PADDY McGuinness admitted he’s got a secret telly crush during an appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.

The former Take Me Out star paired up with Vernon Kay for the popular TV series, which kicked off with them watching Ross Kemp game show, Bridge of Lies.

Paddy changed his mind when he realised Rachel was a Man U fan

Tackling the celebrity version of the quick-thinking game was Countdown star Rachel Riley, which Paddy admitted was a favourite of his.

“There’s something about Rachel Riley,” he told Vernon. “I don’t know what it is.

“You know when you have, like, a celebrity crush that you’re not supposed to have?”

However, Vernon was on hand to bring him back down to Earth, telling Paddy that Rachel was a “United fan”.

A horrified Paddy then changed his mind and declared: “Oh I’ve gone right off her!”

Unfortunately for Paddy, who is currently single after splitting from wife Christine McGuinness in 2022, Rachel is a taken woman, marrying Strictly Come Dancing pro Pasha Kovalev in 2019.

The pair have been together since 2014, shortly after meeting on the BBC dancing show and Rachel split from her husband.

His confession came just hours after The Sun exclusively reported that Christine sought solace from Jacqueline Jossa’s partner, Dan Osborne, following their split.

The pair comforted each other with their respective marriage woes and sent flirty texts.

Model Christine said Dan had joined her for raucous nights out that helped lift her spirits after her split from radio and TV host husband Paddy.

A pal told The Sun: “Dan and Christine have known each other for years.

“Their friendship goes as far back as 2019, when Jac was heading Down Under to the I’m A Celeb jungle, when they had a brilliant night out at a fund-raising gala in London.

“They stayed in touch sporadically and would bump into each other at events and their messages got pretty flirty.

“Some were seen by mutual friends.

“She would call him ‘D’ in texts and it became an open secret among their circles.

“There is no suggestion anything sexual happened, but it’s fair to say there was a spark between them.”

Former Towie star Da is adamant nothing happened romantically between the pair, even suggesting that the text messages between them were “deep fakes or AI” when asked

A pal said: “Dan is devoted to Jacqueline and would hate for any suggestion of impropriety.

“Of course, it’s possible for a man and woman to be mates.”Despite this, Dan has reportedly sent grovelling messages to Jacqueline – with whom he’s trying to repair his marriage to – after the news broke.

‘Players are not enjoying it’ – Phil Taylor makes explosive claim about Premier League Darts and demands urgent change

DARTS legend Phil Taylor has slammed the format of the Premier League.

Luke Humphries beat Luke Littler in the play-off showpiece to end the 16-night roadshow.

Luke Humphries beat Luke Littler in this year’s final[/caption]

The eight-player format involving a quarter, semi and final every Thursday has been in place since 2022.

But Taylor is not a fan of the setup, saying: “It’s very tiring… I think they do need to look at it now.

“It needs revamping, that’s what I think. A lot of the players are not enjoying it and you can tell.”

Fans also criticised the repetitive format after last week’s final and so did legend Steve Beaton, labelling it “boring”.

He argued that seeing top players face each other regularly dampens the blockbuster feel to the match-ups.

But Taylor has been entertained by the standard of play on show throughout this year’s Premier League.

He added: “Luke and Luke are really setting the standards at the moment.

“The levels they’re producing and how they’re bringing the best out of each other — it’s incredible for the rest of the sport.

And not just Luke and Luke — I love watching Chris Dobey.

“Nathan Aspinall is playing superb. Absolutely superb. He’s won two or three of these Premier Leagues. He’s done brilliant.”

Warning issued to UK households over ‘rare’ 50p coins that are being sold on eBay for up to £100

EXPERTS have warned Brits to be careful after discovering “rare” 50p coins selling on eBay for hundreds of pounds.

Coin collectors revealed the true value of the coins and warned would-be collectors to be vigilant.

Coins selling for hundreds of pounds are rarely worth that much[/caption]

Everyday Brits were warned that the coins selling for hundreds or even thousands are often worth nowhere near that much.

While some coins are super rare finds, part of a low mintage of featuring mistakes, the majority are only worth their face value.

A coin collecting expert who goes by the name @uk.coin.hunt shared the truth about the rare pieces.

Some listings spotted by the expert on eBay had price tags of up to £100,000, a massive markup.

One particular coin that is often seen listed with an eye watering price tag is the “Brexit 50p” which is not rare at all.

Despite numerous listings on eBay pricing the 50p piece at upwards of £10,000 the coin is only worth its face value.

Brits who are looking to get into coin collecting were warned to avoid the dodgy listings.

The Brexit 50p has been listed for more than £10,000[/caption]

The Brexit 50p features writing on the “tails” side reading: “Peace Prosperity And Friendship With All Nations.”

It had a 10 million odd mintage meaning it is not rare in the slightest and only holds its face value of 50p.

Another common discovery on eBay is the Mrs Tittlemouse 50p, which has been listed for £10,000 plus.

The coin expert again debunked the eye watering price tag explaining that the piece was only worth around £3.

While rarer than the Brexit 50p the Mrs Tittlemouse 50p still isn’t worth anywhere near what some sellers are asking for it.

Even the rarest coins often sell for less than £1,000 with one of the rarest coins in UK circulation, the Kew Gardens 50p, selling for £800.

Some collectors will pay extortionate amounts for rare pieces but coins rarely sell on eBay for the prices sellers sometimes ask for.

Coins are made rare by having a low mintage, meaning only a few were printed, or by having mistakes.

Currency minted with mistakes is very valuable to collectors since an exceedingly small number of coins are printed and put into circulation with errors on them.

Commemorative pieces like the London Olympics coins are rare too with only a few put into circulation for a limited time.

But even the Olympic coins aren’t worth much more than their face value unless they have an error.

To spot a rare coin Brits have been urged to check their mintage numbers before buying or selling them.

Rare metal coins, such as gold bullion, have an inherently high price due to the cost of the metals they are made of.

Most rare and valuable 50p coins

WE reveal the Royal Mint’s most rare and valuable 50p coins in circulation.

Triathlon

Minted in 2011, the Triathlon 50p depicts the same sport which featured in the 2012 Olympics.

There are more than 1,160,000 of the coins in circulation.

With over 200million 50ps circulating in the UK, that makes this coin quite a rare find.

The highest recent sale we’ve found on eBay recently was £30 on June 21.

Judo

Judo is a popular sport that involves grappling with your opponent.

But despite the design, it’s not so easy to get a hold of this coin, of which there are just 1,161,500 in circulation.

The piece was designed by David Cornell after he won a national competition.

It was minted in 2011 and the highest bid we’ve seen on eBay was for £17.95 on June 21.

Wrestling

Wrestling was one of the first Olympic sports so it’s not surprising that it features on one of the 50p pieces.

The 2011 coin was designed by Roderick Enriquez, a graphic designer from Hammersmith, London.

We’ve seen it sell for as much as £15 online so is worth digging around for.

In recent months, one was sold on eBay for £11.95 on June 18.

Football

Of all the coins created to commemorate the 2012 Olympic Games, the 50p Football is among the rarest.

It features an explanation of the controversial offside rule on it, with 1,125,000 produced.

One sold for £20 on eBay on June 11, although it has been known to go for as much as £75 in the past.

Kew Gardens

The Kew Gardens 50p is the rarest of all the 50p pieces, with only 210,000 in circulation.

They have been known to sell for as much as £895 on eBay before.

The design was created by Christopher Le Brun RA and features the famous Chinese Pagoda with a leafy chamber that twists around the tower.

The coin often sparks the interest of new coin collectors due to its rarity.

The highest sale we found in recent weeks was £142 on June 22 with 23 bids.

Lambourn stuns red-hot favourite Delacroix to land master trainer Aidan O’Brien an 11th Derby

AIDAN O’BRIEN’S No2 Lambourn stunned his big hope Delacroix to land the Derby – as a load of the big guns flopped in the £1.5million Epsom blockbuster.

Lambourn, who was sent off 13-2, hit the front early and was never for catching under loyal jockey Wayne Lordan.

Ryan Moore never really got into it on red-hot favourite Delacroix and finished ninth, beaten 16 lengths.

And, for once, the world’s best jockey had to play second best to Lordan – who he beat into second in the Oaks on Friday.

There was a huge result for syndicate Middleham Park as their 50-1 Lazy Griff, trained by Charlie Johnston, came second.

While Aidan’s son Joseph was third with 28-1 Tennessee Stud.

Juddmonte had the fourth home with 50-1 New Ground.

O’Brien said: “Wayne gave him an incredible ride – he is a great fella and has done so much hard work throughout the years.

“The horse is very straightforward and Wayne knew he would stay.

“I’m delighted for Wayne and couldn’t be happier.

“The lads put in everything and I am just delighted to be on their coat tails!”

The race was a big result for the bookies, even though Lambourn was well backed before the off as rain got into the Surrey turf.

Although ITV Racing presenter Kevin Blake somehow did manage to pick the first three home in a truly unbelievable tricast.

There were no shows from big hopes including Dante winner Pride Of Arras and Damysus – while 2,000 Guineas winner Ruling Court was withdrawn just hours before the race on account of the ground.

Lordan said on ITV: “I felt I was going a good gallop, past the six furlong pole with two ears pricked and knew I was in a good spot.

“I just had to keep the momentum going. He’s not a flashy horse, they show pace and quicken.

“This fella rolls his sleeves up and just rolls along – but he is always there at the end.”

Shoppers race to buy garden must-have from Amazon that adds instant privacy & perfect for unpredictable British summers

AMAZON is selling a stylish pop up gazebo for less than £60 that is perfect for family gatherings.

The Outsunny Pop Up gazebo not only offers instant privacy – it is also popular with online customers.

Shoppers race to buy garden must-have from Amazon that adds instant privacy & perfect for unpredictable British summers - MONEY, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Outsunny-Resistant-Gazebo-Marquee-Storage/dp/B007X3ZC3M
The pop-up gazebo is perfect for family gatherings or for a Father’s Day bash

And in another plus for the pop up, it is also a smash hit with consumer organisation Which?, scoring high marks in recent tests.

With forecasters predicting a sun-packed summer it couldn’t have arrived at a better time, making it a must-have item for BBQs, parties and festivals.

It is also the perfect addition for anyone planning an outdoor Father’s Day event on June 15.

The Outsunny 3x3m Pop Up Gazebo is currently on offer for just £55.99 on Amazon.

That takes 29% off the original price.

It’s also been awarded a brilliant 82% score by Which?, with particular praise for how easy it is to assemble.

This means there are no tools – or temper tantrums – required.

There is also a grey version of the Outsunny Pop Up Gazebo for sale on Amazon, which retails at £79.99.

This pop-up shelter is made for unpredictable summer weather.

Here are just some of the benefits:

  • The canopy is UV and water resistant.
  • This will provide shade on scorching days and protection when the heavens open.
  • It comes with four zippered side panels – so you can go fully enclosed or keep it open for breeze and mingling.

There are other reasons to purchase this gazebo too.

This includes its steel frame, which has been powder-coated for durability.

The Outsunny 3x3m Pop Up Gazebo even includes eight drainage holes to stop water collecting on top.

Its exact dimensions are 2.95m x 2.95 m x 2.58m, with the door at a height of 1.96m.

Shoppers race to buy garden must-have from Amazon that adds instant privacy & perfect for unpredictable British summers - MONEY, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Outsunny-Resistant-Gazebo-Marquee-Storage/dp/B007X3ZC3M
The gazebo comes in multiple colour options – but prices vary

The manufacturer recommends two to three people are on hand to assemble.

In addition to this, when you’re party’s over, it packs neatly into the included carry bag for easy storage and transport.

How to have a great – and safe - barbecue

  • If you are planning a barbecue in your garden it is advised you consider how you will get rid of disposable barbecues once you’ve finished with them.
  • Some areas have dedicated barbecue bins, but you should always ensure your barbecue is fully cooled before disposal by pouring cold water on it, says East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service
  • Other advice includes choosing a location away from buildings, fences, trees, and anything that could catch fire.
  • Ensure the ground is flat and stable, and that the barbecue is placed firmly to prevent tipping.
  • Never leave a barbecue unattended when in use.
  • Keep children, pets, and garden games away from the cooking area.

With multiple colour options, it’s also easy to coordinate.

But be quick, because the most popular shades and sizes tend to sell out fast when the weather forecast starts to change.

At such a low price, a proper gazebo like this one is a small investment that could save your whole day – whatever the weather.

Three Premier League clubs want to sign Alejandro Garnacho as Man Utd make final decision

Postseason Friendly - Manchester United v Hong Kong

Manchester United are ready to sell Alejandro Garnacho this summer amid interest from three Premier League clubs.

The Argentina international’s season ended in controversial circumstances following his outspoken reaction to being left out of the starting XI for the Europa League final defeat against Tottenham.

Garnacho was subsequently excluded from the matchday squad on the final day of the Premier League campaign, but did feature on the club’s post season tour of Asia.

Despite yet another display of petulance, Ruben Amorim maintained he saw a future for the winger at Old Trafford.

Little more than a week on since that public declaration, however, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that it has been agreed there will be a clean break between player and club this summer.

Erik ten Hag, newly installed as Bayer Leverkusen’s manager, is credited with an interest in a player who thrived under his tutelage at United.

The potential fee and wages, however, would represent a major stumbling block and, at this stage, it appears that Garnacho could well remain in England.

A trio of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in a player whose future will be resolved in the coming weeks.

Chelsea looked at signing the 20-year-old in January and are in the market for attacking reinforcements, especially now they have reneged on their plan to turn Jadon Sancho’s loan move from United into a permanent deal.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, have already started their summer recruitment drive by agreeing a deal to sign Wolves’ Matteus Cunha, and are hopeful of agreeing a fee with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo.

United were also boosted this week by Bruno Fernandes turning down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old Portugal international has been the subject of speculation linking him with a £100million switch to Al Hilal, with the Saudi Pro League side reportedly prepared to pay him £700,000 per week.

Former United and England defender Neville told Sky Sports News: ‘It’s significant.

‘I think that there was an element of this situation that meant United getting that level of money, for someone of Bruno’s age, obviously, you couldn’t say that it would have been a bad deal.

‘But, on the other hand, Manchester United’s star player – only player at times – for the last four, five, six years, has been Bruno Fernandes. He’s so important.

‘The fact that he wants to stay, the fact that he wants to go through this and come out the other side, because it would have been easy for him at the end of this season to say, ‘Look, I’m done here’, will endear him towards Manchester United fans even more.

‘To turn that money down at a point where Manchester United are at their lowest ebb and say, ‘No, I want to fight through this, I want to see it through the other side, I want to come out and achieve things,’ I think it says a lot about him as a person, as a character.

‘The club needs people who are going to run through a brick wall for them.’

Outrage at newspaper’s plea for photos of women in skirts ‘the shorter the better’

The double-page spread
Metropol newspaper’s double-page spread that has sparked major backlash in Hungary

A newspaper has sparked outrage by inviting readers to submit photos of women wearing skirts – adding that ‘the shorter, the better’.

Hungary’s government-funded newspaper Metropol published a two-page spread on Wednesday, featuring what appear to be covertly taken photos of women in skirts on the metro.

The campaign has been branded disturbingly invasive, and one that would invite further street harassment of women and girls.

It has triggered a wave of backlash online, particularly from TikTok users in Hungary who are calling out Metropol’s stunt as ‘sexist’.

Sophie Klein, a crochet artist from Budapest, was one of the women who posed – defiantly – in a short skirt holding a copy of the free newspaper.

She captioned the video: ‘Me every day since the biggest, tax-funded, pro-government newspaper in Hungary asked their readers to send in candid pictures of girls in short skirts they see in public under the motto of “the shorter, the better”.

‘I almost forgot to mention that this newspaper is of course conservative and supports family values.’

The 30-year-old told Metro about how Metropol’s campaign is only ‘fueling’ sexual harassment of women and girls

Sophie said: ‘This is what is shocking to me – one of the biggest, state-funded newspapers in the country is giving people, in a way, permission to take pictures of strangers in general, but also sexualise underage girls and women just because they are wearing short skirts.

‘I am already hearing of parents telling their daughters not to go out wearing short skirts, so that no one takes a picture of them.

@studio.lieselottie

Tell me you’re a clown without telling me you’re a clown 🤡 #metropol #lesifoto

♬ LABOUR – the cacophony – Paris Paloma

‘Today is already over 30°C outside – the heat is unbearable.’

Sophie, who used to live in Berlin and returned to Budapest two years ago, said sexual harassment on the street in Hungary is ‘much more socially acceptable’.

‘People do not seem afraid to harass you on the street. It took me time to get used to this,’ she added.

‘Before the article, I was already not comfortable wearing skirts in public. But at the same time, I do not want to be controlled either by my personal insecurities or by Metropol.’

She said about the photos already published as part of the original story: ‘Those girls did not give their consent to have their pictures printed in a newspaper. Yes, you don’t see their faces, but it’s anyway very disturbing.’

Amid the backlash, Metropol has done a decent job in scrubbing any trace of the story from its website and social media accounts, but screenshots have been circulating online for a few days now.

Sophie also explained how the stunt is an example of a broader culture of institutional misogyny in Hungary, where women’s rights are undermined as a routine.

Under the premiership of Viktor Orbán, Hungary has turned back the clock on women’s rights – gutting any gender protections, sidelining women from the political field, and cementing a conservative vision of family that leaves little room for individual freedoms – like abortion.

The politician has positioned himself as a defender of traditional values on the world stage, resonating with like-minded politicians across Europe and the US like Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

The 2024 Gender Equality Index ranked Hungary 26th out of 27 EU member states based on its overall performance.

The country was also placed last in the domain of gender equality in positions of political and economic power.

An EU survey published in November found that 55% of Hungarian women had faced gender-based violence at some point and that 8% were currently living in an abusive relationship.

Metro has contacted Metropol for a statement.
