BRITS are braced for more stormy weather today after the UK was lashed by flash floods, thunder and lightning yesterday.
The Met Office has issued a number of storm warnings with wild conditions threatening disruption across the country.

Met OfficeWeather warnings for thunderstorms on Saturday are widespread across the UK[/caption]
It comes after the mercury soared to sweltering temperatures on the hottest day of the year to date.
The Met Office said Santon Downham in Suffolk reached 29.4C on Friday – setting a new high for the year.
More than 30,000 lightning strikes were already recorded up to 6am on Saturday as storms push northwards, although the Met Office said the “vast majority” had been over the sea.
A yellow thunderstorm warning is in place until 6pm on Saturday covering the South West, North East and North of England, Wales and much of Scotland.
The Met Office has warned that some areas could see 30-50mm of rain in a few hours, while a few locations could reach up to 80mm.
Thunderstorms could be accompanied by strong wind gusts and hail with the storms potentially bringing road flooding, difficult driving conditions, power cuts and flooding of homes and businesses.
A further yellow warning comes into force in the eastern half of Northern Ireland from 6am to 6pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a similar warning has been in place across the South East of England overnight following an amber alert on Friday.
Kent experienced heavy rainfall overnight, with flooded roads in parts of Dover.
A lightning strike was the likeliest cause of a fire in a residential building in St Leonards-on-Sea on Friday night, according to East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
They said there were no reports of casualties and the fire had been extinguished.
In Devon, where North Wyke near Okehampton saw 36.4mm of rain on Friday, five flood warnings were issued overnight by the Environment Agency, alongside 46 flood alerts in the South West, South East and Midlands.
A further six flood alerts have been put in place by Natural Resources Wales in South Wales.
National Rail said a landslip had stopped all services between Exeter St Davids and Okehampton, with the weather conditions meaning it is not safe for engineers to reach the site.
Disruption is expected until 1pm.
Rail operators warned customers to check for updates on services on Saturday morning, while Heathrow Airport apologised to passengers late on Friday night for flights delayed by “adverse weather conditions”.
Met Office chief meteorologist Steve Ramsdale said: “While the warnings cover the areas of the country most at risk of seeing thunderstorms, not everyone within a warning area will experience a thunderstorm.
“For many, it will remain dry much of the time”
Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to ease slightly throughout the day, with the driest and brightest weather in the South East, which will remain very warm.
The Met Office said showers will continue to ease through Sunday, with dry weather for most of the country on Monday and Tuesday.
Katharine Smith, flood duty manager at the Environment Agency, said: “There is a risk of significant and localised surface water flooding impacts in parts of England.
“Environment Agency teams have ensured rivers and watercourses are clear ahead of the storms and stand ready to support local authorities in their response to surface water flooding.
“We urge people not to drive through flood water as just 30cm of flowing water is enough to move your car.”

RORY MCILROY threw his club and smashed a tee box as he vented his anger during a difficult second round at the US Open.
The Masters champion narrowly made the cut but it was another day of frustration at Oakmont.

McIlroy, 36, finished on six over but made it through thanks to a birdie on the 18th hole.
Defending champion Bryson DeChambeu was not so fortunate after finishing ten over, with those on eight over failing to make the cut.
McIlroy was in danger of falling short too, and appeared as though he would let his frustrations get the better of him.
A wayward approach shot on the 12th saw the Northern Irishman fling his club in anger.
And on the 17th hole the tee box took a beating from McIlroy as the five-time major winner was again unhappy with his drive.
That prompted the Sky Sports commentator to say: “Oh wow. Frustration once again boils over.
“He’s not himself right now.”
Fans were not impressed with McIlroy’s behaviour and criticised his conduct.

THIS actor burst onto the scene in the late noughties as a fresh-faced teen with a mop of curly hair in E4’s Skins.
Fast-forward 15 years since the show ended, and this star, now 33, looks unrecognisable as he reunited with his former co-stars – but can you guess who it is?
InstagramCan you guess who the actor on the left is? Seen here reuniting with his fellow Skins stars[/caption]
InstagramThis star is now all grown up and in his 30s[/caption]
InstagramThe actor appeared in the hit E4 teen drama from 2009 until 2010[/caption]
HandoutDid you guess it was Ollie Barbieri who played JJ Jones in Skins[/caption]
The actor in question is Ollie Barbieri who shot to fame in Skins, playing JJ Jones.
The star was in the hit E4 show from series 3 to 4 which aired from 2009 until the following year.
Skins followed the highs and lows of teens in college trying to navigate their way through life.
It became a huge fan favourite and had seven successful series with some very iconic characters.
On the show, Ollie’s character JJ was known for being the more wholesome of the group, and was considered quite “geeky”.
But as the series progressed, he became more socially confident.
SKINS REUNION
Actor Ollie recently reemerged into the spotlight when he met up with several of his former Skins co-stars.
He was photographed celebrating twins’ Kathryn and Megan Prescott’s birthday, who played Katie and Emily, along with Kaya Scodelario, who was known for her role of Effy.
Fans went wild when they saw the picture, with one saying: “Love this Skins reunion, is that JJ on the left?”
Another said: “So great to see you are all still friends!”
The actress was just 15-years-old when she landed the part of Effy, who was the sister of Nicholas Hoult‘s Tony.
But speaking about her time on Skins to Nick Grimshaw on the Dish podcast, she said: “Back then there wasn’t the same amount of safeguarding with young actors.”
Recalling how radio presenter Nick once interviewed her as a teen, she added: “He interviewed me when I was about 15, I was underage at a festival, and I was really drunk.
HandoutOllie starred in third and fourth series’ of Skins[/caption]
“There wasn’t anyone checking in if we were OK… Nick is to me such a memory of my early career – he was like a safe place, kind and gentle.”
Kaya continued: “I vet everyone first [when I go onto a new set].
“I just make sure they’re not an a***hole. I have a genuine no a***hole policy and I will not give my time to people that think they can behave like that any more.
“I’ve met so many incredible actors and directors that don’t behave like that, that are kind, good people and also produce good work, so there’s no excuse for it.
“There used to be, when I started out, it was like, ‘Oh, it’s, you know, it’s Jack the Lad behaviour’ or ‘it’s because he’s intense’, and no.
“Be a nice person, be respectful, be kind, because I’m too long in the tooth, I can’t be a****. I don’t want to be around bad energy.
“And I’m too aggressive, I’ll kick off, which is not good. It’s not good. It’s very nineties to be an arsehole.”
Skins was created by father and son duo Jamie Brittain and Bryan Elsley, and ran from 2007 to 2013.

Alternatively, if your device is no longer available for credit, then you can hand it over to Apple for recycling.
Your device might not be available for credit if it is too old and has been added to Apple’s doomed ‘obsolete’ list.
“Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than seven years ago,” the company writes on its website.
“Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, and service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products.”
It means it can’t be repaired, as Apple no longer has the parts.
Apple also doesn’t accept iPhones with a broken screen or other significant damage.
In both cases, Apple will only recycle the device for you.
iPhone tricks to try today
Here are some of the best...
Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the space bar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, letting you move around words and sentences more easily
Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapped squares in the bottom right-hand corner, and press close all tabs
Delete lots of photos quickly – Hold down on a photo and then drag your finger diagonally in Photos to select lots of images at once, then hit delete
Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of your Home screen, then tap in the bar and type a currency (like €200) and it will automatically covert to your local currency
Check if you’re due a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health, and check out the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally a battery is considered worn when you’re down to 80% capacity. If you’re below, you can buy a battery swap from Apple
Move apps around faster – Hold an app until it starts wiggling, then (while still holding) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around easier
