Lottie Tomlinson says never-ending confidence battle after losing mum led her to excessive fillers until face ‘blew up’

LOTTIE Tomlinson has candidly opened up on her “never-ending” confidence battle after losing her mother.

After having her first child, the 26-year-old influencer noticed her cosmetic procedures had “got out of control” and has since had her lip and cheek filler dissolved.

Now, the mum-of-two has explained that she first turned to cosmetic treatments after “losing her confidence” after her mum Johannah Deakin’s death in 2016

The sister of One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson believes her mum, who died at the age of 43, “sugarcoated” her diagnosis and never realised “how bad” she was until near the end.

Revealing all to Giovanna Fletcher on a recent episode of the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, Lottie acknowledged that becoming a mother herself has since changed the way she views herself and has given her confidence back.

Reflecting on the past, when she would restrict herself in a bid to be slimmer, Lottie said: “I felt like it was making me happy.

Losing the weight and feeling slimmer definitely made me feel better in myself.

“But in terms of the fillers and the beauty treatments, it was just a never-ending thing of trying to catch up with yourself.

“And, like, when you lose someone as close as your mum, it affects your confidence a lot.

“That’s something I never expected, because if you think about it, your mum is the one person that cheers you on, that loves you unconditionally, that’s there to give you that reassurance and support.

“So when you lose that, you kind of lose that confidence in yourself.

“So I think I was constantly chasing, trying to find that confidence, thinking I would find it in these fillers and how I looked.”

Johannah had seven children – Louis, now 31, Lottie, 26, Félicité, who died at the age of 18, twins Phoebe and Daisy, 21, and twins Ernest and Doris, 11.

Johannah’s death prompted Lottie to move home to Doncaster to look after her younger siblings with her grandparents.

Not only was Lottie battling the loss of her mother at the time, but just three years after Johannah’s death, Lottie’s sister Félicité Tomlinson lost her life following an accidental overdose, after she took a fatal concoction of anti-anxiety medication, cocaine and painkillers.

Before the double tragedy, Lottie was working as a make-up artist alongside her friend Lou Teasdale, and by 2015 she was on tour with her brother Louis’ band One Direction.

Seven years after her mother’s death, Lottie gave birth to her first child, a boy named Lucky, two.

Then, in January 2025, Lottie, who has been described as a “stealth entrepreneur“, welcomed her second child, a now four-month-old daughter named Flossie.

Lottie shares both children with fiancé Lewis Burton, 33, whom she officially began dating back in August 2020 after meeting at a house party in May that year.

Discussing her pregnancy with Lucky, Lottie shared: “I was gaining a lot of weight… When I did have him, I was left four stone up.

I was constantly chasing, trying to find that confidence, thinking I would find it in these fillers and how I looked

Lottie Tomlinson

“My face was all swollen more because I had all the filler. That’s why I wanted to remove it once I did have him.

“Towards the end of the pregnancy, with the weight gain and the swelling, my face and my lips, everything had just blown up.

“I was like, ‘I can’t look like this’. And obviously, when you have a baby, your priorities change.”

Lottie also continued: “But I think what’s genuinely given me my confidence is having my kids, because you just realise that it’s not important.”

Despite this, she claimed: “I still like to look nice, I still like to get my hair done, but it’s not as important to me as it once was.

“I’m so comfortable now to just be in no make-up, have my hair up.”

Lottie’s mother Johannah died from leukaemia after she was diagnosed in 2016 when Lottie was just 18 years old.

Lottie Tomlinson career timeline

2015: Lottie worked as a stylist and make-up artist for her older brother Louis and his band One Direction during their On The Road Again Tour.

2016: Lottie became an ambassador for Nails Inc. and debuted a collaborative collection with the beauty brand. She also became the face of fashion brand Lipsy London. Lottie also worked as a make-up artist at London Fashion Week.

2017: She released her first book Rainbow Roots: #MAKEUPBYME, which featured 40 beauty tutorials.

2018: Along with Lou Teasdale, Lottie founded and launched the fake tan company Tanologist.

2019: Tanologist was launched in the US, appearing in stores such as Ulta and Target.

2020: Lottie became a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder’s bereavement support services. She also began working with fashion brands Pretty Little Thing and Asos.

2022: Lottie featured in marketing campaigns for Boux Avenue.

2024: Lottie launched her exercise and well-being app Verdure, which includes fitness and diet plans for users to follow at their own pace. She also released her second book Lucky Girl: Family, Falling and Finding My Way.

Lottie claimed her mum hid how ill she was to “protect” her children and when she did die, it was a complete “shock” to the family.

She added: “Looking back, she probably sugarcoated the situation because she wanted to protect us, which I understand.

“But then, when it came down to it, the last few weeks, that’s kind of the only time we kind of started to realise that she wasn’t going to be okay.

Towards the end of the pregnancy, with the weight gain and the swelling, my face and my lips, everything had just blown up

Lottie Tomlinson

“And so to lose her… it felt sudden. We had so much hope that she was going to be okay. And I think you’ve got to hold on to hope when someone’s ill.

“And she was so strong, she didn’t want anyone to know she was ill. She said she was going to fight it, and it was going to be okay.

“And so we’d take her word for that. And she’d always been right about things.

“So yeah, to lose her that suddenly was such a shock. And it’s like the centre of everything is gone.

“It’s like everything else falls apart and I feel like we’ve spent the last few years since it all happened, just trying to rebuild that.

“And it’s not been easy, but we’ve just stuck together as a family, and we’ve tried to look after each other.

“I think we’re getting there. We’re rebuilding everything. And it’s just sad that she’s not here with us.”

Bruno Fernandes’ ex-referee wife went from paying for dates when he was broke to convincing him to snub £200m Saudi move

BRUNO FERNANDES revealed wife Ana had a huge say on his decision to snub the Saudi Pro League.

The Portuguese star turned down a £200million package from Al-Hilal to stay at Manchester United.

Fernandes was a rare shining light in a dismal Old Trafford season last term.

And the skipper has now turned down a fortune to stay in the North West.

Reports suggest Al Hilal offered to TRIPLE Fernandes’ £250,000-a-week wages.

But with two years remaining on his United deal, the 30-year-old has decided to remain in Manchester.

Fernandes said: “There was that possibility [I could leave], the president of Al Hilal called me a month ago to ask.

“There was a waiting period on my part to think about what the future would hold. I would be open to it, if Manchester United felt it was my time.

“I spoke with [manager] Ruben Amorim, who really tried to talk me out of it.

“I spoke with the club, which wasn’t willing to sell, only if I truly wanted to leave.

“We never talked about money – that was all handled by my agent, not me.”

Fernandes and Ana are childhood sweethearts and met in their teens.

They married in 2015 and have two children together – Matilde, 7, and Goncalo, 4.

And he leaned on his rock for advice on whether to leave the Theatre of Dreams this summer.

Fernandes continued: “I spoke with my family to understand if that was what I wanted for my future.

“It was actually my wife who asked me – I never said yes or no.

“She put my professional priorities ahead of everything else.”

During Fernandes’ early days as a struggling player, he did not have the money to take his beau out on dates.

Ana funded their relationship by refereeing futsal matches on weekends.

And the United star credits her with getting them through the “tough times”.

Fernandes said: “Ana has been with me on this ride since we were 16, 17, 18 years old.

“We met as teenagers, and when we first started dating, I wasn’t making any money as a footballer.

“She had a nice job working as a futsal referee on the weekends.

“She used to do three or four matches in a row on a Saturday, and then we would always go to the cinema on Sundays.

“I personally didn’t have much money at the time so Ana was the one who had to pay for our movie tickets.

“Same with going out to dinner. Even at the pizza shop, she had to pay.”

I refuse to buy my kid new school shoes so colour them in with a Sharpie to last instead – trolls call me a cheapskate

A MOTHER has revealed that she is refusing to buy her child new school shoes for the rest of term as she has come up with a handy hack to keep her current pair looking fresh.

Samantha Potts, a savvy woman from the UK, explained that rather than constantly splashing the cash each term on new school shoes, she simply uses a Sharpie pen to colour in where the material has peeled off.

But Samantha Potts was met with harsh criticism from many, with users even calling her a “cheapskate” for her actions[/caption]

But Samantha’s quick and easy trick has been met with a barrage of nasty abuse, with mean trolls accusing her of being a “cheapskate”.

Not only this, but other parents voiced their concern that Samantha’s idea could set her young daughter, who is in primary school, up for “ridicule and bullying”.

Posting online, Samantha gave her followers a close-up look at her daughter’s black shoes, with half of the gloss peeled off.

But with Samantha “fed up of buying shoes”, she got a permanent marker to give the tired footwear a freshen up for the last term

Alongside her short clip, Samantha said: “When it’s the last term of the year at school and your kid has decided to peel off her shoes – you are now stood here colouring it in with a permanent marker because you don’t want to buy any more shoes.”

Samantha then asked: “The question is, do I pull this bit off so it’s the whole front of one shoe? Do I keep it on? Who knows?”

Following this, she asked her followers: “What will look better? I feel like at this stage it can’t get any worse.”

Showing off her daughter’s coloured-in patent shoes, Samantha recognised: “I know they look bad.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @samanthapotts05 just 15 hours ago, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 221,800 views.

Not only this, but it’s also amassed 3,324 likes, 735 comments and 296 shares.

But trolls were stunned by Samantha’s purse-friendly idea and many eagerly raced to the comments to voice their opinions.

One person said: “Shoe Zone £10. Go buy some cheapskate.”

You can’t let her walk around like that for six weeks, please buy her some shoes

TikTok user

Another added: “Never would I send my kid to school in shoes like that, regardless of it being last term or not.”

A third commented: “Asda do school shoes for £6, that works out at £1 a week!”

One mother fumed: “You can’t let her walk around like that for six weeks, please buy her some shoes.”

EXTRA HELP WITH SCHOOL UNIFORM COSTS

IF you can't get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you.

In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing.

Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores.

Some charities offer help to families in need too.

But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant.

Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you.

Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch.

If you don’t know where your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch is, you can find out by visiting www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/nearby/.

If you’re not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund.

Whilst another slammed: “Or just buy your kids new shoes! Would you go out like that? No.. so why make your child?”

At the same time, another fuming user wrote: “I’ll buy new shoes. This is not on. I get it times are hard but there has to be a pot for this stuff.

“I wouldn’t dream of sending a child to school in those. Knowing how mean children can be, you’re opening your child up to ridicule and bullying.”

She is only in Year 1, most days her dresses are covered in pen or paint or her lunch from the day and she couldn’t care less so I don’t think a little permanent marker on her shoes is gonna bother her

Samantha Potts

But in response to the haters, Samantha later responded: “Wow, didn’t expect this to blow up as much as it did.

“Just to clear a few things up – she’s got 31 days left. Nine of those are PE so she will be in trainers.

“Why would I teach my kid that intentionally ruining something gets rewarded? It’s wasteful and the structural integrity of the shoes are still there, if they were broken I’d replace them.

“She is only in Year 1, most days her dresses are covered in pen or paint or her lunch from the day and she couldn’t care less so I don’t think a little permanent marker on her shoes is gonna bother her.”

Love Island couple SPLIT while on holiday together just days after denying they were on the rocks

LOVE Island stars Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint have split up after rekindling their romance on All Stars earlier this year.

The couple, who were recently on holiday together in Ibiza, have now both unfollowed each other on social media, with Ronnie also deleting photos of Harriett.

They gave their romance another shot on All Stars this year[/caption]

It’s now been confirmed to The Sun that the pair have opted to go their separate ways.

Their split comes just days after the couple were hit with split fears by concerned fans.

Fans had spotted that footballer Ronnie, 28, had deleted photos of Harriett, 25, from Instagram – sparking fears they had separated.

But Ronnie took to his Instagram story to deny that they’re on the rocks at the time, and said posts about the break-up are fake.

The Love Island star shared a screengrab from an Instagram page that claimed he and Harriett had split.

The post appeared to show Ronnie commenting: “Yeah it’s true. Will explain my side of things later,” along with the caption: “Ronnie Vint is sharing his side of that story with what happened with Harriett.”

But Ronnie insisted that was simply a cruel hoax by a social media user.

He wrote: “This is clearly a set up. Edited because we are sweet and I haven’t commented a thing. Thank you.”

Just a day before, Ronnie and Harriett posted a since-deleted story around the same time, saying “LOOOOL”, with a black background.

One fan wrote on Reddit: “Harriet and Ronnie broke up??

“Ronnie posted this on his IG story and deleted the movie premiere photo with Harriett.”

Another added: “This is not the first time he has done cryptic stories and archive and unarchived posts with her.

“Why make it obvious on socials? Just fight in private.

2015 – Despite poor Jess Hayes being Max Morley’s second choice on the show, they did win – but they didn’t last as a couple. STATUS: Broken up.

“I highly think their relationship will end on very bad terms with how clear it gets that it’s so unhealthy.”

A third shared: “Both wiped each other from their IG. How people do that so quick is beyond me.”

However, the photos in question were then back and restored on Instagram.

Since that speculation online, Harriett posted Instagram snaps of the pair enjoying a sunny holiday in Dubai, and captioned them: “Dreamiest week”.

They’ve also been enjoying time together in Ibiza recently, but have unfollowed each other while away.

It comes as the villa duo’s plans to move in together were recently revealed.

Harriett opened up to The Mirror, saying: “In June. Everything’s happening at once.

“We’re moving up towards London, which is exciting.

“It’s really close to Matilda [Draper], so we’ll be spending a lot of time with her and going back and forth.”

Last summer, the pair had originally split just weeks after previously leaving the villa.

However, viewers watched as Harriet and Ronnie rekindled their connection on Love Island: All Stars.

Although Ronnie was an original All Stars islander, his then-ex entered as a bombshell on Day 11.Having reunited, the pair fell short of winning after being “dumped” on Day 34 of 36.

I tested Aldi’s 7 new beauty buys all for under £5 – a cult Charlotte Tilbury dupe is back but the blusher is my fave

An image collage containing 3 images, Image 1 shows Luminous Filter Glamour Foundation in various shades, Image 2 shows Woman holding Lacura Cake Pop and Brightening Water Serum, Image 3 shows Lacura Brightening Watermelon Serum bottle with pump top and sample swatch

AFFORDABLE beauty products have a special place in my heart.

While I love testing luxury launches, there’s nothing more satisfying than finding a gem for less than a tenner.

This year, more budget products than ever before have impressed me by far out-performing their price tags.

When Rimmel Thrill Seeker Lip Ink Pen, £9.99, landed on my desk in January, I put it to one side while I continued working.

But to my surprise, a few days later I realised I’d reached for it before every meeting that week to look more polished, and the colour had stayed put all day.

It’s not patchy or sticky, and the slimline nib means I can trace my lip line, then tilt the pen on its side to fill in the bulk of my lips.

Similary, I bought Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser Eye Concealer Color Corrector Pink, £9.99, on a whim with low expectations after a passport photo left me looking like I had two black eyes.

The original version is my favourite budget concealer – even though I hate the sponge applicator, the formula and coverage is unrivalled.

The light-pink hue is perfect for my blue-toned shadows and it applies smoothly.

The sponge (for all its unhygienic flaws) helps control how much product is applied so you don’t overload the delicate under-eye area.

Plus, it layers well with my concealer, and makes my under-eyes look far less tired.

Aldi
Aldi Luminous Filter is a returning fan favourite[/caption]

They’re just a couple of the affordable beauty products to have made it into my regular rotation over the last six months, and I’m always on the hunt for more.

So, when I heard Aldi were launching not one, but seven new beauty dupe products this week – all under £5 – I had to put them to the test.

Here’s how I got on...

Hand holding three tubes of Lacura lip balm in Cake Pop, Vanilla, and Dulce de Leche.
Tara preferred the tinted Dulce de Leche shade of Lacura’s Lip Balms

LACURA LIP BALMS, £3.49

It only takes one look at these new balms to guess who Aldi used as inspo.

Drum roll please… it has to be Summer Fridays.

The tasty flavours are right out of the viral brands playbook – although Aldi’s are £19.50 cheaper – and sure to be a hit with those who love sweet treats.

Having tried all three, the 90s brown Dulce De Leche variety is my favourite, because of the pout perfecting sheer tint it delivers.

On application, all three of the shades melted across my lips quickly, so didn’t take any blending out, and felt buttery soft, with a gloss that isn’t sticky or greasy.

Aldi promise the formula is packed with Shea Butter and Murumuru Seed Butter to deeply hydrate and soothe lips – although I found they wore off quickly, and left my lips feeling tight and dry.

Hand holding a Lacura Sculpting Bronzer Stick.
Lacura’s bronzing stick is surprisingly long-wearing

LACURA SCULPTING BRONZING STICK, £4.49

When I first opener the Sculpting Bronzing sticks, I was worried.

There’s very little variation between the two shades, and they’re both very warm hued – bordering on orange.

On skin, they’re very pigmented, and you have to work quickly to avoid them going patchy.

After some trial and error, I found using my fingers – rather than a brush or sponge – worked best, as the warmth helped melt the product into my skin.

I’m extremely pale, so they’re both too dark for me, but if you aren’t paper-white, you’ll have better luck.

The formula layers well over foundation, and once it’s set, it doesn’t budge, which will be great for hot summer weather.

I swatched both sticks on the back of my arm to work out which shade I should apply to my face, and despite removing both within a couple of minutes, they left a stain that withstood a bath and a shower!

Hand holding two bottles of Lacura Watermelon Serum.
Lacura’s new watermelon brightening and bronzing serums were hit and miss

LACURA WATERMELON BRIGHTENING AND BRONZING SERUMS, £4.99 EACH

I’m a huge fan of Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Serum, £32 – both the untinted and bronzing variety – so as soon as I saw the packaging of these serums I knew they were a dupe.

Niacinamide is one of my favourite skincare ingredients – thanks to it’s ability to reduce inflammation and redness, balance oil control and soothe skin – and both brand’s hero it in their formulations.

In fact, the first five ingredients are exactly the same across the two, so on paper you’d expect them to be similar.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

Woman holding Lacura Cake Pop and Brightening Water Serum.
Tara put Aldi’s new beauty products to the test

The bronzing serum is extremely glittery, and very orange, giving me flash-backs to the Geordie Shore style fake tan of my teens.

Thankfully, the untinted version was much better.

It has a thick serum formula, that instantly cools the skin soothing any irritation.

I used it for a few days, and my skin felt softer and more plump – although it does have a strong watermelon scent, so that’s something to note if you struggle with fragranced products.

Hand holding Lacura Shimmer Hydrating Facial Mist.
Tara couldn’t find an occasion to use Lacura’s shimmer face spray

LACURA SHIMMER HYDRATING FACIAL MIST, £4.49

When this landed on my desk, I immediately question when I’d ever have an occasion to wear it.

If you haven’t already worked it out – I’m really not a fan of glittery products on my face.

My skin is oily enough as it is, and I don’t think the vampire look is very in.

Formulated with antioxidant ingredients including Vitamin E, Chamomile, and Green Tea, the formula definitely leaves skin brighter and feeling refreshed.

It took a few minutes to dry down, during which time the glitter transferred to everything I touched.

I can’t get past the school-disco levels of shimmer, but if that’s your thing, you’ll love the face mist!

Hand holding open compact of coral blush.
If you buy one thing from Aldi’s new beauty drop, make it the blusher

LACURA BLUSH, £3.99

As far as I’m concerned, blush is the most underrated make-up product.

So many people worry about where to apply it, or going to far and looking like a clown – but get it right, and it’s the quickest way to add life to your face and revive your complexion.

There’s two shades of blush; coral – which has a peachy orange hue and candy, that’s more pink in colour.

Again, they’re both extremely glittery – I’d love to meet the Aldi boss who’s obsessed with the stuff!

Supposedly, they’re dupes of the iconic Nars Orgasm blusher – and while the packaging certainly looks similar, the OG formulas are not nearly as shimmery.

Thankfully, after a few uses the glitter isn’t quite so prominent – in future, I’d scrape the top layer of product off to get rid of it rather than apply it to my face.

The blush has the perfect level of pigment, so you only need to dip your brush in once for enough pay off, but not too much that you risk over-doing it.

You’d be hard pressed to find a better blusher for the price.

Hand holding Lacura Luminous Filter Glamour Foundation.
Lacura’s illuminating base wasn’t as pigmented as Tara expected

LACURA LUMINOUS FILTER FOUNDATION, £4.99

Last time this was on shelves, shoppers went wild – calling it a dead ringer for Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter.

I’d not tried it before, so I had high hopes.

The product description claims it ‘creates a flawless base and blurs imperfections’ which sounds right up my street.

The consistency is thinner than I expected, so I have to wear foundation on top to get enough coverage – which means I then loose out on the glow.

As you can guess, it’s also more sparkly than the £39 version, although I went in expecting as much so I wasn’t too offended.

Having experimented with it a few times now, it works best if you mix it with your foundation, or use your fingers to apply to the high points of your face rather than as an all-over primer.

If you want a Flawless Filter dupe that’s more like the real deal, I prefer E.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow, £15.

Hand holding eyebrow pen.
Tara wasn’t a fan of Lacura’s microblade effect brow pen

LACURA MICROBLADE EFFECT PEN, £3.49

Tiktok goes wild for micro-blade effect brow pens, but in all honesty, I’ve never quite understood the hype.

This one has three distinct tips, which do help to create hair like strokes, but the ink formula quickly spread into the fine lines and texture of my skin – so the definition quickly disappeared.

With this kind of formula, it’s really hard to control the pigment load you apply to skin, so you can quickly end up with brows that’re far too dark.

If you want to try the trend, £3.49 isn’t too much of a risk, but be warned it’ll take a lot of patience to get right!

Wine expert shares her view on Aldi's Whispering Angel dupe

Sainte Victoire is my favourite part of Provence to find personality filled yet great value Rosé.

Thanks to the altitude of the Sainte Victoire hillsides, the grapes get exposed to plenty of sunshine during the day but their ripeness is moderated by cooler evening temperatures.

This enables the wine to brim with intense, complex fruit which is balanced by elegant acidity and herbal finesse.

I am delighted that Aldi are highlighting an actual area of Provence as quality and flavour profiles can vary greatly – however I always know with Rosé from Sainte Victoire that I will not be disappointed.

Chelsea have indicated they are willing to pay £50m and offer unwanted players in a deal to sign Brighton striker Joao Pedro, according to reports.

The Blues have already signed England U21 striker Liam Delap in a £30m deal from Ipswich Town but intend to bolster Enzo Maresca’s attacking options further this summer.

Current Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson endured an underwhelming season at Stamford Bridge while Christopher Nkunku is set to be sold following a dismal spell at the club.

Chelsea have expressed interest in French forward Hugo Ekitike but Pedro is a cheaper alternative to a player Eintracht Frankfurt value at around £85m.

Pedro, 23, has scored 30 goals over the past two seasons, establishing himself as one of Brighton’s most influential players since his £30m move from Watford.

Brighton want around £60m for the Brazil international but Chelsea are ready to tempt their Premier League rivals with an offer of £50m, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea have a strong relationship with Brighton following several transfers between the clubs and are reportedly in talks over a deal for Pedro.

It is claimed Chelsea are also willing to offer a number of unwanted players to Brighton in a bid to bring Pedro to west London.

The likes of Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have all been linked with summer moves away from Chelsea.

Chelsea’s move for Pedro could put further pressure on Arsenal who have also shown interest in the Brazilian as they look to add some goals and creativity to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Liverpool are admirers of Pedro but are currently focusing their efforts on a deal for Florian Wirtz which could cost more than £100m.

Delap’s £30m move to Stamford Bridge was confirmed earlier this week and the 22-year-old will wear the No. 9 shirt at Chelsea.

Maresca’s side saw off competition from Manchester United to complete a deal for Delap, who scored 12 goals for relegated Ipswich last season.

‘Growing up watching this club, I understand the stature of it and how incredible it has been over the years,’ Delap said following his move to Chelsea.

‘I wanted to come here to win trophies. When I spoke to the club, everyone wanted to get back to the very top, and they have the quality and the players to do that.

‘The hunger and desire to keep adding trophies, to take the club back to where it belongs, that is the main objective.’

Chelsea enjoyed a promising start and finish to the 2024-25 campaign to qualify for the Champions League and lift the Conference League trophy.

Delap and the rest of the Blues squad are now preparing for the upcoming Club World Cup, which starts on June 15 in the United States.
