Manchester United are preparing a €70 million (£61m) bid to sign Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, according to reports in Spain.
Ruben Amorim has already strengthened United’s attacking options this summer with the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, while the club are also in the market for a new striker.
Fermin, meanwhile, made 46 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona last season, scoring eight goals and registering 10 assists.
According to Catalan newspaper Sport, United have now made their interest known in Fermin and are expected to propose a €70m (£61m) offer for the 22-year-old.
The report claims that Barcelona and Fermin’s entourage are aware of the situation and a transfer could take place ‘in the coming weeks’.

Fermin is said to have received plenty of interest this summer with Chelsea, Arsenal and clubs in the Saudi Pro League all making enquiries.
However, the midfielder has been adamant that he wants to remain at Barcelona.
But Barca are still facing financial difficulties and Sport claim that the Spanish champions would be prepared to sell Fermin if United follow up their interest with a €70m (£61m) bid.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona head coach, Hansi Flick, wants Fermin to stay at the club.
Fermin signed a new contract last October which keeps him tied to the club until 2029. The deal also includes a €500m (£436m) buyout clause.
