IT’S considered to be a skincare holy grail by many.
But Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel cream also doesn’t come in cheap – as it’s £24 for a 50ml tube.

If you want a bigger bottle, it’ll set you back a whopping £53.
So it’s no wonder beauty fans are racing to Poundland after a skincare pro stumbled across a dupe for the product – and it costs just a quid.
The beauty whizz took to TikTok to share a look at the Body Stories Multi-Peptide Gel Cream, writing over the top of the video: “I bought this £1 moisturiser as a joke and it’s becoming my favourite!”
They added that while they’d recently cited the Simple Skin Quench Gel Cream as a dupe for the Clinique one, the Poundland one is actually more like the pricier product.
“It’s the same Dimethicone-based gel cream,” they added.
“They added some interesting ingredients like trihelose, vitamin E, aloe vera, hyaluronic acid and even some peptides.”
Once home, they opened the 50ml pot to show what it looked like inside, declaring that it’s “light and pleasant to use”, and would work particularly well on combination skin.
“It’s a great moisturiser, especially for this money,” they added.
On the Poundland website, the cream is described as “a luxurious moisturiser designed for ultimate skin hydration”.
“Enriched with a blend of five powerful peptides and soothing water lily extract, this gel cream works to deeply hydrate and soften the skin,” the description continued.
“Its lightweight, refreshing formula absorbs quickly without any greasy residue, making it perfect for daily use.
“Featuring a fragrance-free formula, it’s suitable for all skin types and has been dermatologically tested, ensuring a safe and gentle experience.”
And as an added bonus, it’s “vegan-friendly, aligning with ethical skincare preferences”.
People in the comments section of the TikTok were quick to weigh in on the skincare find, with one writing: “It’s awesome. I love this product. My skin glows with it!”
“I’ve just bought and my skin loves it,” another gushed.
“That is a nice texture!” a third wrote.
Biggest skincare trends for 2025
Face The Future’s Head of Clinic, Kimberley Medd, shared the five skincare trends predicted to take off in 2025.
1. Exosomes
Exosomes are the buzzword for 2025, taking advanced skin regeneration to new heights. These micro-messengers signal skin cells to repair damage, boost collagen, and accelerate recovery, and they’re a gamechanger for targeting ageing.
2. Streamlined Skincare
The age of 12-step routines is fading as consumers shift to more intentional, multi-functional products. Streamlining skincare not only saves time but also reduces the risk of overloading your skin. In 2025, we’ll see a rise in hybrid products that combine active ingredients for simplified, effective results.
3. Vegan Collagen
Plant-based collagen will dominate the skincare world this year, providing a sustainable, ethical alternative to traditional animal-derived collagen. Expect vegan collagen in everything from moisturisers to serums.
4. The Rise Of AI
AI is revolutionising the beauty landscape, making it possible for consumers to get truly personalised skincare solutions. In 2025, we predict a dramatic shift towards AI-powered tools that help people understand their skin on a deeper level.
5. Hair Loss Solutions –
Hair loss is an issue that affects more men than we often realise, and it’s no longer just something we’re talking about behind closed doors. This year, expect to see a continued rise in demand for treatments that not only tackle hair loss but also nurture overall scalp health.
“Pity we don’t have in The Netherlands,” someone else sighed.
Funnily enough, the Poundland website also sells the actual Clinique cream – the same 50ml tube for just a tenner.
However, it’s only available online.
