Beloved ’70s Singer, 82, Has Fans Emotional Over Farewell Tour: ‘An Answered Prayer’

Barry Manilow got his start writing jingles in the 1960s. His career spans over six decades, during which he earned a Grammy, two Emmy Awards, a Tony Award and various other accolades.

The “Somewhere Down the Road” announced his final nine stops on his farewell tour slated to begin in January 2026.

“These performances are more than just concerts…they are a culmination of the decades of MANILOW memories and moments that Barry has shared with us throughout the years,” the announcement read.

Fans of the iconic singer are reeling over having to say goodbye to their favorite performer.

“An answered prayer,” one fan commented, while others begged him to visit their cities.

Manilow released a new song, “Once Before I Go,” in conjunction with his farewell tour, calling it a “beautiful song.”

“I’ve always loved it, but I was too young to be able to sing it truthfully,” he told Peopleof first hearing the song when songwriter Peter Allen played it for him. “Out of the blue I got a phone call from my friend Clive Davis. He said, ‘Barry, have you ever heard of a song called ‘Once Before I Go’?’ I said, ‘Yes Clive, I know the song.’ Clive said, ‘You should record this song, Barry.’ And I did!”

Fans can catch the beloved singer one final time at a show in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia or Ohio. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 26.
