The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Michoacán reported this Monday morning of the murder of Bernardo Bravo Manríquez, leader of the Association of Lemon Producers of the Apatzingán Valley, Michoacán and also president of the lemon producers at the national level. He had been deprived of his liberty on Sunday.

Who was Bernardo?
Bernardo Bravo Manríquez defined himself as an entrepreneur and “proudly a lemon tree.” He was born in Apatzingán, Michoacán and was the son of a family of lemon trees.
According to his profile on social networks, he studied at the Free Faculty of Law of Monterrey.
On several occasions he raised his voice against the extortion suffered by the lemon trees of Apatzingán by the armed group Los Viagras, allies of the Nueva Generación Cartel.
