Big Brother fans eagerly await the return of the post-eviction live feeds after host Julie Chen-Moonves teased another wild twist during the Thursday, September 4 episode.
The elusive “Mastermind” returned to reveal players would be in for a “month of mayhem,” starting with “The White Locust,” a resort-style twist inspired by the hit TV series – but far less glamorous. In fact, it was teased that all houseguests would check in, but not all would check out…so what does that mean exactly?
I caught up with BB Unlocked hosts – and former winners – Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur, along with celebrity guest and BB superfan Lance Bass, on set in Los Angeles to hear their predictions.
“I could see Kelley [Jorgensen] not doing well, but if I’m thinking this is a twist that’s happening in the backyard, we’ve had Jankie Week, we’ve had Dyre Fest, and usually the person who’s the odd man out is the one to go,” Hale says. “So I could see Kelley or Keanu [Soto] being on the way out, but we don’t know how it goes down.”
Levasseur agreed, adding, “If it’s anything to do with a popularity contest where people are picking and choosing Keanu and Kelley, they’re at the bottom of that list.”
Bass had his own theory, telling MJ, “Well, I mean, look, if the competition is what I think it’s going to be about eating something really horrible, there’s always that one person that refuses to eat that cricket and that one will be their demise.”
While more details about the actual Head of Household competition will be teased during the Friday episode of Unlocked, fans will have to wait until Tuesday, September 9 to watch it all play out.
As for Unlocked, the former winners also open up about what they’ve enjoyed most about the new show. “What I was excited about on that initial call and through this whole process is the fact that they’re really open to our feedback,” Hale says. “That doesn’t mean it always gets implemented immediately, but they’re not just giving us lip service saying, ‘Oh, that’s a good idea.’ And then throwing to the wayside. If we don’t do something, there’s a legitimate reason why it can’t happen.”
Levasseur says he’s most intrigued by pulling back the curtain on production. “For me going forward, I would like to see more behind-the-scenes stuff,” he says. “We kind of saw a little glimpse of it with how they created the wall. I thought that’s really cool. You’re not going to see that anywhere else. We have something in tonight’s episode where again, we’re going to be taking you behind the scenes of how the show’s created because it’s unbelievable. I would also like to see not only home visits with current houseguests, but I just saw something online, it was [season 1 houseguests] Bunky [Miller] and Hardy [Hill], I watched that and it made me appreciate being part of this group of people that were so fortunate to be here, and that was 20 years ago.”
He adds, “They were on together and you saw Bunky breaking down, and it’s like, I would like to see more of that on Unlocked because to me that’s the extension. That’s where we take the show where people are like, ‘Oh, I have to watch that. I’m not going to see it anywhere else.'”
Big Brother airs Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. You can also catch the 24/7 live feeds on on Paramount+ and Pluto TV.
