Boyzone fans won’t need to wait until their huge comeback shows to see them perform together again, as the group will reunite for New Year’s Eve.
While on The One Show, Ronan Keating confirmed his bandmates, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch, will join him for his BBC special.
Ronan & Friends: A New Year’s Eve Party will give a taster of the two gigs still to come in June, which will see the group play the Emirates Stadium, London.
The trio will be joined by fourth member Mikey Graham for their first live shows since their five-night run at the London Palladium in 2019.
Speaking on the BBC show, Ronan, 48, said: ‘Yes, so I’ve got Calum Scott, who I’m a big fan of. Shona [McGarty], just out of the jungle, as we know, she has a hell of a voice, she was singing every night in the jungle.
‘And Louise [Redknapp]. So I’m very excited to have my friends come along. I’ve got a bunch of friends from the north side of Dublin.’
Keith jokingly asked ‘who’, which prompted Ronan to retort ‘Westlife’, their rivals who were also managed by Louis Walsh.
‘You’ve changed Ronan,’ teased Keith before his bandmate confirmed that ‘Boyzone will be performing as well.’
Formed in 1993, secured six UK number one singles — including Love Me For A Reason — and five UK number one albums.
They first split in 2000, pursuing solo projects with Ronan becoming a breakout star with When You Say Nothing At All, from the hit film Notting Hill.
In 2007, the group reunited but just two years later, tragedy struck with the death of bandmate Stephen Gately, aged 33, from an undiagnosed heart condition.
Boyzone reflected on their rise to fame and the impact the industry had on their mental health with documentary No Matter What, which aired earlier this year.
‘The reaction was unbelievable,’ Ronan previously said of renewed fan interest following the Sky docuseries.
He teased that 2026 was going to be a ‘great’ year for the band while on BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills Breakfast Show.
While on the One Show, the band shared that ‘so many people’ had reached out to them since, both fans and people in the industry.
After confronting the darker side of their fame in the documentary, Keith said he wanted their upcoming gigs to be a ‘celebration’ of all they’ve achieved.
This echoed Ronan’s previous comments while on the BBC chat show, sharing ‘It’s a farewell, perhaps. Something.
‘We thought our story was over after 30 years. With the documentary, we thought that was it, and the reaction was incredible.
‘We’re not getting the band back together. We’re not going on tour again across the world, but to do something special. We have eyes on that at the moment. A big celebration.’
As for his New Year’s Eve party, Shona is promising to bring a ‘theatrical flair’ after finishing third on this year’s I’m A Celeb.
Meanwhile, Louise, formerly of girl band Eternal, will take to the stage as well as singer-songwriter Calum Scott.
The evening will also feature a broadcast of London’s firework display, followed by more performances and celebrations to see in 2026.
Murder On The Dancefloor singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor hosted a New Year’s Eve disco on the BBC in 2024.
Ronan & Friends: A New Year’s Eve Party will broadcast on December 31 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
