Brassic stars Ryan Sampson and Tom Hanson shared what to expect from the seventh and final season – and we’re scared.

The Sky comedy, created by and starring Joe Gilgun, was up for an NTA award on Wednesday night as the show looks ahead to a final season of ‘capers and chaos’ with Vinne and the crew continuing to commit petty (and not so petty) crimes.

The series, which also features Michelle Keegan, promises more mayhem to come as the gang ‘face their biggest challenge yet – clashing with old enemies, confronting long-lost family, and diving headfirst into chaos.’

Brassic’s swan song is set to come out at the end of September and, as Ryan and Tom told Metro on the NTAs red carpet, things are set to take a darker turn than ever before.

The pair hinted at what to expect in the upcoming episodes, and it seems like it is not for the faint-hearted.

‘It’s harrowing,’ Ryan started, ‘it’s genuinely harrowing. It’s a lot darker and more horror vibes than it has been before.’

Tom, who plays Leslie ‘Cardi’ Titt, vaguely teased that he ‘goes on a trip’ as the pair joked that Cardi could even die, which certainly would be a shock twist.

Meanwhile, co-creator Danny Brocklehurst agreed it was ‘harrowing and hilarious’ before adding: ‘They are all facing their age, they are facing the fact they are getting older and they can’t go on forever with his life.’

Describing the show as the ‘tiny, weedy little underdog’, The Mr Bigstuff star also shared how strange it was to be saying goodbye.

He said: ‘The weird thing for me is that I’m never gonna see these characters again. We improvise in these characters a lot, so you feel like you are spending time with Cardi and Ash.

‘I feel like I’ve hung out with these people and to never be able to do that again is bizarre.’

Hodson echoed: ‘You develop a shorthand over 7 years of how to interact with each other. It’s so ephemeral by its nature, and I’ll miss that a lot.’

As Ryan summed up: ‘I’ll miss being in a show where I can adlib, diamonte and crystal butt plug. You don’t get that on The Crown.’

Earlier this year, Our Girl star Michelle shut down claims that the show had been axed.

Writing on her Instagram story, she said: ‘It’s come to a natural end after 6 fantastic seasons, and we’re currently in the middle of making the 7th and final season.’

Brassic will premiere on Sky and NOW TV on September 25. The first six seasons are available on catch-up.
