Pyramids FC officials have reportedly arrived in South Africa to hold talks with former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena.
Mokwena is currently not attached not to any team following his departure from Morocco giants Wydad Athletic Club.
Now, SABC Sport reports that Pyramids FC officials are in the country to discuss their project with the 38-year-old mentor.
Zamalek were the latest team to show interest in Mokwena but he ignored them after realizing that Pitso Mosimane was also being courted by the same team.
Now, having also not ruled out a possible move back to the PSL with the big teams such as Pirates, Pyramids are making a bold move.
However, they still have a coach in Krunoslav Jurcic although his future with the African champions remains in the balance.
RULANI TO PYRAMIDS DEAL GAINS MOMENTUM
“SABC Sport can reveal that Pyramids officials have arrived in South Africa to hold talks with coach Rulani Mokwena,” reads part of the report.
“While it is not yet clear whether (Krunoslav) Jurcic will continue or leave the Egyptian outfit, the public broadcaster has it on good authority that his employers are already assessing a possible target to take over.
“Pyramids are understood to have slipped into the country to speak to Mokwena about their project next season and beyond.”
