Jayden-Lee Meek’s mother, Tiffany Meek, appeared before the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court for the formal bail application on Friday, 18 July.
The matter has been postponed to Monday, 21 July.
The 31-year-old is charged with murder, defeating the ends of justice, crimen injuria and obstructing the course of justice.
NEW DETAILS EMERGE
The court heard that blood was found on Jayden-Lee’s bed and school books. However, Tiffany, through an affidavit, claimed that the 11-year-old’s bloodied items were not in the house.
She was arrested on Friday, 11 July, nearly two months after the 11-year-old’s death. The 31-year-old also suggested that she has been framed for her son’s murder.
COMMUNITY UP IN ARMS
Community members gathered outside the courthouse, demanding justice for Jayden-Lee. and voicing outrage over the brutal death of the young boy.
