Brian Cox didn’t hold back when taking aim at Nigel Farage on Sunday with Laura Kuennsberg, describing the Reform UK leader as ‘selfish’ and ‘uninformed’.

On today’s episode of the BBC programme, the host conducted a pre-recorded interview with the politician.

During their conversation, she questioned him over his plans if he were to enter 10 Downing Street, as well as grilling him over his tax returns, telling her guest that his ‘tax and business affairs aren’t exactly straightforward’.

Farage took opposition to Kuenssberg’s line of questioning, telling the presenter: ‘I take objection to the very premise of that question,’ while also saying that he refuses to make his personal tax returns public

Straight after the interview with Farage was shown on the programme, Kuenssberg turned to the guests she had in the studio, including Succession actor Cox.

The BBC personality pointed out that while the pre-recorded conversation was being shown, Cox described Farage as an ‘incredible person’.

‘Yeah, I don’t mean incredible in a positive way – I think incredible in a negative way,’ the 79-year-old clarified.

‘I find him very venal, quite honestly, as an individual.’

The actor, who regularly shares his passionate political views publicly, continued: ‘He’s selfish, and he’s on the whole quite uninformed.

‘I just am dazzled at the way a lot of people have been seduced by him, because he’s a bit of a bully – you can tell at the way he conducted that interview with you. I thought a lot of it was just badgering, badgering, badgering. I just don’t trust the man.’

One X user called Mark remarked: ‘Brian Cox is 100% correct,’ while George agreed: ‘This time I agree 100% with Brian Cox.’

Lynne added: ‘Let’s all be Brian… the voice of reason.’

However, there were others on X who opposed Cox’s point of view, telling him to ‘stick to acting’.

This isn’t the first time that Cox has launched a blistering verbal attack on Farage, as last year Kuenssberg was forced to step in when he called the politician ‘slightly fascist’.

‘I do worry about his influence. And I find him slightly fascist, quite frankly,’ the actor said at the time.

‘Nigel Farage was here with us last week. He’s not here to defend himself from anything this week, but we did speak to him last week,’ she responded last June.

Metro has contacted Nigel Farage’s representatives for comment.

Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg airs at 9am on Sunday on BBC One.
