A British tourist has drowned at a popular Spanish seaside resort.
The man, 58, was spotted floating in the sea by his wife at around 2.45pm at Cap Sant Pere beach in Cambrils on Spain’s east coast.
He had suffered from a cardiac arrest while out at sea.
The holidaymaker was given CPR at the scene but was declared dead soon after ambulance crews arrived at 3.04pm
Paramedics also treated the wife for a panic attack, the newspaper Diari de Tarragona reported.
A yellow flag was up at the time, which signals to beachgoers that they should exercise caution when going into the sea.

The beach has no lifeguard service outside of the peak holiday season, with the nearest lifeguards at neighbouring Vilafortuny Beach.
The spot is just a 15-minute drive from Llarga Beach in Salou where a brother and sister were swept away to their deaths in July.
Ameiya and Ricardo, known as Maya and Jubs, from Birmingham, and their family had been on their first big holiday abroad at the beach resort of Salou at the start of the summer holidays.
But the brother and sister were swept away in front of their family as they were dragged 100m away from each other in powerful rip-tides.
Their father, Ricardo Senior, had to be rescued himself in high winds as he desperately tried to save his children at the popular tourist beach.
Their dad had swallowed ‘a lot of sea water and was exhausted,’ but he was revived.

The brother and sister have been described by loved ones as ‘beautiful’ and ‘bright’.
Kayla Jasvinder Del-Brocco, the children’s aunt, told BirminghamLive that Ameiya was ‘athletic, driven, motherly with her siblings, sarcastic and unique’.
‘Ricardo Junior was kind, loving and helpful,’ she said.
‘He wanted to be a YouTuber and would do anything for a few quid. He doted on his mum.’
Cousin Holly Marquis-Johnson said on GoFundMe: ‘During what was meant to be a joyful family holiday in Salou, Spain, Ameiya and Ricardo Junior, lovingly known to their family and friends as Maya and Jubs, heartbreakingly lost their lives in a tragic incident at sea.

‘Two beautiful, bright, and deeply loved children, taken far too soon. The pain their family is feeling is unimaginable.
‘This fundraiser has been created to help ease some of the financial burden the family is now facing, covering the costs of bringing Maya and Jubs home to the UK and giving them the dignified farewell they deserve.
‘We know that no amount of money can make this right. But together, we can help carry some of the weight.’
